I think the difficulty curve is somewhat high xD but it gets interesting

loving the visuals!

I really enjoyed this! From gameplay, to the visuals, to the audio, etc.. everything is done expertly. I wouldn't change anything about this!

Really good use of the theme, and extremely polished for a jam game, good job!

This game is amazing! I can see myself playing this for hours. The shop, the movement, the art, the sounds, everything is well thought out and balanced well. Amazing work!

Lots of replayability and really good difficulty curve! Love the shop and its upgrades, and the movement felt really fluid! My only complaints the repetitive music and also I couldn't see how the limitation 'Boss' was applied. However, I think your use of 'On the Edge' was quite inventive. Great job!

Positive: Awesome! Good looking pixel art, artstyle, animations. The varied enemies keep you on your toes. Simple but well done mechanics. Good use of the theme and diversifiers.

Negative/Feedback: Very repetitive music. It eventually got kinda annoying, so i'd recommend making or using a longer/more varied tracks or several songs. It would also be nice to have a toggle or volume slider for the music and sound effects.

Neutral: Quite difficult

Excellent entry. Tons of replayability and challenge. Charming art, music and design. And a clever use of making the theme your core mechanic. During the first level, I didn't see how On the Edge applied, but then after having to blast around from edge to edge to survive it seemed like a stroke of genius.

I think it's a little too difficult for a jam game, because you want players to be able to make it to the end, so maybe an easier option where the enemies more frequently give you coins could help give two balance options.

Your UI and design as a whole was really well implemented. I thought there was just the right amount of screen shake and I loved the particle trails on the bats. The dotted aim fit in really great as well.

Some Feedback:

- I think you should have just kept it as 1-bit art. Unless the red, green, blue and yellow seen here are because I played in browser:

The one bit style is really well done and it's a quicker read for a game that requires you to be on your toes at all times.

- I tried to play the Mac download to see if it was in fact all just 1-bit, but got this error:

I had gone to rate some of the "in need of ratings games" and found the same issues for another user. He used GMS2 to make his game, and my game also has busted Mac builds. I thought it had to do with GMS2 and Xcode or something that I couldn't figure out in time to correct for the deadline, but I see you used Godot and also had the same problem. So I wonder if it's an Apple issue for everybody who created a Mac build. Now, you might say that the Mac build runs fine on your machine, but mine also runs fine on my own machine. It's when I try it from other Macs that it won't run and gives that same exact error. Curious. If anybody who sees this built a Mac version and got it to work for other users, please chime in.

- I loved your sfx selection for when an enemy gave you a coin. It was so rewarding. But at first I thought there was some sort of error, because it played sometimes and other times not. Then I realized it was by chance that you earned a coin. You do have a sound for when the enemy dies, but I think you could have turned it up a bit more so it felt juicier to take them out.

Overall, this was a great experience and wonderful addition to the jam. Great work.
