Couldn't make it past the spikes and I really tried. The game is simple and neat, but those collisions ... those collisions. You really need to be more generous with the collisions, especially with the lizard. Untouchable.
First of all, really fun game, and looks great too.
I see others have already mentioned this, but the axe collisions are really frustrating. I felt like I couldn't use the jump ability, because every time I thought I'd cleared a path, it turned out that the axe had missed by a pixel and I jumped straight into an enemy.
I love the squash and stretch as the character lands on a wall. Also, the way the level transitions to the shop.
The enemy design is very clever. The lizards, in particular, support the main mechanics really well.
PS. I know the definition is ridiculously broad now, but I don't think it's reasonable to call this a roguelike. The levels are the same every time you play. Just a pet peeve.
Awesome game! Really neat idea to bounce along the edges of the box. I made it to the fourth stage and got killed by a bunch of dumb lizards. I thought the upgrade system was really well implemented and the enemies really kept me on my toes. I think my only complaint would be the aforementioned lizards since they can come out of nowhere without any warning. Originally it seemed like I only had to avoid them on the bottom, but they came out of the top too later on. I also got ambushed by some bats when I was on the top since they spawn above you. Also, getting sent back to the beginning can be pretty punishing, especially since the first part is pretty boring. Would have loved to have kept going from my current level, but I understand that probably wouldn't have worked entirely with your chosen upgrade system. Great job!
Everything was super smooth, the transition was great and i really like the art style. Wouldn't mind playing more of this if it wasnt for one thing, the chromatic aberration looking effect altho barely noticable hurt my eyes after a while. Probably just me tho! Great game either way! :)
The game flows really well. The art on the bats looks really cool. I love the multi-color shadows. Menu is clean and the screen transitions look great. Amazing job!
Awesome game! The visuals are amazing and the overall concept is just great. No complaints here. Nice work!
Great Game! love the art style, felt like i should play it again with some 3D glasses on. Tough game too, barely made it to level 3. Also great upgrade system, kept the game progression and allowed for different playthroughs.

Great game ! I really liked it. For me it really hit the difficulty curve well on the first levels, but it got tough on the later levels, and I really loved it !
As suggestion points I would propose to perhaps add a progress bar that shows how long the level will continue to last. Also : some upgrade texts were not really clear ("more live", "axe rate") and the colors were hurting my eyes a bit. Still great game !

This game is insane the art is beatifulllll https://itch.io/jam/vimjam2/rate/1202728
personally chromatic aberration kinda hurts my eyes, plus i think the music gets a little repetitive and the way it completely goes away at the end of each round feels jarring. other than that though, solid little game!
I really like the concept of the game! Everything is lively and it looks really good with the blue and red effect. I had a lot of fun even though I couldn't get passed the third level. I don't know if it's a web build thing but the axes kept going through the enemies, so I tried to play it without the axes but it was really impossible in level 3. (The mac build didn't run on my machine)
Dismiss my strike through comment just a bit. It's the vsync option, I was playing on a 30hz monitor, on my 60hz monitor it's working fine!
Great game, but also very hard.
Well put together game with a fun clever mechanic and the control scheme works well. I like the music, but it's a bit repetitive after playing for a while. It would also be cool if you could see the trajectory of the multi-axes before you throw them, right now the double axes are little confusing during hectic gameplay moments.
Really cool! Impressed with the polish. Do wish the second axe didn't make you fire both at an angle though.
The mechanics are pretty fun to use, especially once you start getting the bouncing axes, overall feel was really cool
