Good entry. Papers Please is one of my favorite games, and this is a really cool twist on that formula. Similar to Papers Please, the game gets pretty chaotic pretty quickly. The presentation is also good, and I thought the game was visually pleasing. Good work!

Interesting game and great use of the theme. Well done!

Good game! I love papers please and overcooked :)

I wish I could throw old newspapers and bills to the trash to make some space, just like you move bills to your wallet.

Good job !

The art looks great and it's a fun little game, but it was really hard to figure out. It took an entire try before I realized the instructions were under another piece of paper at the start, and then I couldn't figure out what was "grill" or "submit button" or that buns need to be cut. I did finally get the hang of it and it was pretty cute.

This game has an interesting premise of being a cook that's under stress by constant orders and needs to complete multiple tasks, which matches the cause theme pretty well. The game's art style looks quite pleasing, I especially like all of the notes that the player get, that adds to the chaotic feeling. The audio is pretty good too, the music isn't the best, but the sounds work very well. My main problem was that I felt pretty confused most of the time. At first, I had some issues with moving the food (though that's probably on me, but a better tutorial could have helped). Then, I didn't understand what orders I need to exactly make, and the face that I got no money made me think that I was doing something horribly wrong, and at the end of the day, I lost I think, the game restarted, but there wasn't a clear representation. So I would say the game is pretty good in most fronts, besides having understandable mechanics, which unfortunately hurts it quite a lot.

Thank you for the feedback, I appreciate the time you took to play. I completely understand that the game was not explained well enough. I apologise for that. If time were kind to me I would have loved to walk you through making "the classic" step by step in a safe practice kitchen where you could see all the burger recipes and understand some of the complex late game mechanics like grilling veg.

Really great game! This truely screams chaos with all the stuff thrown at you over the counter. At first I misunderstood where I should submit my orders, and I realized I threw everything in the trashcan. Luckily on the second run I knew what I was doing and it went a lot better ^_^

The only thing that was a bit unclear to me is how or when I lose. I guess it is when my debt is too large? But then sometimes I feel like I did not get enough orders to fully pay off my debt? Maybe it was just me not being fast enough, but that at least felt a bit unclear to me.

Otherwise a truely amazing game! It felt like a really good stressful combination of overcooked and papers please, two extremely chaotic games XD Great job!

Thank you for the kind words. I added a decreasing red bar in the bottom which appears when you go in the negative. When that elapses, it's game over. I realise that under the chaos of the kitchen, it often goes unnoticed with your attention elsewhere. I think audio cues work much better in a game like this as your allocation of eye time is precious. Again, thanks for playing and giving detailed feedback.

Very well done, just like some of the burgers I served ;)

Chaos + restaurant kitchen go hand in hand. Having spent a good amount of time working in restaurants, this felt like a natural fit and boy did this not disappoint. The gameplay is the perfect amount of stressful and frantic without being overwhelming or too easy. And that audio! The music is kinda whatever, but its low background droning is the perfect display for all those nice cooking and kitchen SFX. I immediately was taken in my the sizzle on the main menu. Very well done. And all of this on top of lovely pixel art. A+, great job.

If I had to point out some things to improve, it would just be some more polish on clarity. Having some sort of visual/audio indicator on when a burger is done cooking might help train the player to always be checking those, especially for the first few orders. Also, having a more clear "submit" area and button. I actually lost my first few attempts because I didn't realize I was throwing away my burgers. I thought the "area in the upper right" referred to that little tray. My mind thought "oh, that must be like an order tray. Ok, cool." But that didn't seem to accept the tickets. I figured it out eventually though.

Great job, keep up the great work!

Really like the idea of the game, just think it was too difficult to figure some things out, such as that the bread needs to be chopped first. I also think it's too chaotic at the start, because it makes it hard to see what is actually happening. But other then these, I think this is an awesome game!

This is a great game and an awesome mix of cooking and paper please. The polish really made it fun to cook. Great work!

Loved that sizzle as soon as I launched the game. Wished I could put the extra bits of paper that I don't want to read in a stack somewhere, rather than on the screen at all times. I loved the idea of providing instructions, stubs, newspapers the way you did.

Gameplay itself is solid, as well as the art and use of sound and music. Great job!

Incredibly fun game, papers please aesthetic absolutely nailed, wouldve liked to be able to delete some of the rent papers and some notes through the trash chute, be even funnier if you had to slash them up on the chopping board! Fun game

Developer (1 edit)

I love the idea of slicing the paper with the chopping board! I originally had it planned but could not manage to do it within the time frame the way I wanted. Although it wasn't relevant to the gameplay it may have been cathartic to slice into those nasty newspaper headlines. Thanks for playing.

Really good game. Fits the theme, looks good and seems pretty polished. The only point for criticism is the UX. It is hard to figure out what to do. This fits the theme but in my opinion a slower start to learn the mechanics would have been more pleasent than having chaos from the beginning^^

Jesus I hate this game and love the game at the same time, In the start I did not know how to cook burgers and then I noticed all the paper went over the grill. It made the game so much more chaotic on top of having different customers and different burgers. Really fun and definetly a contender for the top spot!

Thanks you for the kind words. It was really interesting for me to try and find that line between frustration and accomplishment through overcoming awkwardness. I appreciate the time you took to play.

yea np, I can really see a full release of this on steam or somewhere else, I personally love arcade games so this was right up my alley. It felt like playing the flash game "papa's burgeria" but way more annoying and fun.

Cool concept, very chaotic indeed! I  like the  music especially.  Suggest adding a tutorial as it took me a while to figure out some things e.g. getting the food from above the icons rather than the icons and how to chop etc. Overall a very polished game, well done!

Thanks for the feedback, it really helps me to know which parts of the game players struggled with. I'm glad you enjoyed.

I loved it. It really feels chaotic.

Best game so far! Love it!

Thanks, I really appreciate it.

Looks great! Sounds great! I got immediately overwhelmed with the orders coming in, so I made for a terrible burger chef and got fined. Great job on the game!
