Very fun polished game! The music really accentuated the feeling of doom and the ticking bomb in the background was perfect. The hard breathing also added some feeling the the atmosphere in this game. The gameplay got the job done and the art was amazing! It is amazing that you managed a game of this quality and polish in just 48 hours! If you could stop by and check out our game and leave some feedback that would be much appreciated. Good luck in your future jams and game dev journeys!
I've really liked that one, it's original and fun too :) Congratulations!
Wow. I want to say that the control is difficult and the sound is annoying, but they both perfectly convey the struggle and urgency of being strapped in a chair to a bomb, so can't really fault that. Only nitpick would be that the bomb was a bit guesswork-y, though that too adds to the panic trying to piece things together. Overall very original and well-executed :D
Nice work guessing, but if you combine the uncharged ion battery with the battery charger and resupply the gun with it, it will break open the safe and reveal a book explaining not only how to make a bomb, but it has a large quantity of lore as well. Unfortunately, I was not very clear that you had to put the charged one back in, so that's on me. Still though, you guessed, and you lived. Congrats!
Excellent game! the bomb's beeping made me feel a sense of urgency and the combining of objects was super smooth! all around a very well polished game and a clear front runner for the jam! Great work!
Man Go Boom! (Really nice job with this one, by far one of the most innovative games here!)
Cool game! I really liked it! My only issue is that the beeping sound is a bit annoying, but that's a small complaint. Nice job!
This game is absolutely amazing. Over the top quality pixel art, and amazing interaction system. Honestly couldn't believe this was only 48 hours of work. Only thing I think was weird was the slow movement (which makes sense, but isn't very fun for the player)
man i thought for sure I was gonna die, but I figured it out! Clever take on the theme! it was good you had the name of the items appear when they were scrolled over because it was hard to tell what things were after you picked them up. I also think using the right mouse button is a little unnecessary and everything could be played with one mouse button. Overall, good job!
I'd appreciate if you could play/rate my game as well! :)
Is it bad that I laughed at the absurdity of being strapped to a bomb for "joined together"? This is one of the most creative applications of the theme I've seen yet. It's a fun game that gives the impression of a Indie title people would speedrun. The presentation works excellently for the experience you're trying to express. Th execution was on point, although I'd like to see more puzzles and variety in a future update. Absolutely a concept that could be expanded in the future, and definitely a Top 20 Game.
Full marks for originality! In its constraints, it reminded most of a puzzle in Monkey Island -- the infamous underwater scene, specifically.
I loved the idea of being joined to a chair (and a bomb), but I what I was missing was how it impacted the mechanics of the character. That is, I could still "walk around" and pick up items as if it was a standard point and click, I just had to click more often.
If you were to expand on the idea, I would love to see you find a way to incorporate the chair either a unique constraint to standard mechanics to dream up never-before-implemented lateral thinking puzzles. I can imagine some really devious ones involving using your chair as a lever, or by holding an inventory item between your teeth (you can only hold one, and the items are limited).
Or.. to go the narrative route make the chair an extension of the character the way that Full Throttle implemented the "boot" as a verb.
I had a blast. Thanks for sharing and best of luck in the jam.
I've played Monkey Island and through some of Full Throttle so I see what you mean. Glad you wrote something up with lots of thought. One item between the teeth does sound interesting, but it would probably limit everything too much. I mean, the movement alone is "novelty", right? It's slow, clunky, and only for a three minute game, small segment, or intro sequence. I feel like this could be the intro to a longer game, and then I could maybe use the teeth deal only in the beginning. I get it, you can "walk around" and it's just slower. I still think that it's applicable to the theme in the end of the day. Happy that you enjoyed my game, I put a ton of work into it. Cheers.
Props for making "joined together" work on so many levels. I really liked the game!
