This is really nice.  I think the one aesthetic suggestion I have right now (after playing several levels ^_^ ) is it might be nice to have an outline around the numbers.  The white numbers on light blue and bright green started to hurt my eyes.
As for the mechanics it's just very fun already, I don't really have any suggestions there.  Thank you for making this ^_^  Cheers!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the kind words! I do want to upgrade the aesthetics a bit and an outline does seem like a good idea. I'm really glad you enjoyed it, means a lot to me!

Having this game on your phone would be amazing. These types of games are perfect to kill time and this one in particular has quite some depth to it. Imma keep this one on my PC for sure.

Developer(+1)

Yea that's a good idea. I am definitely planning on developing this further and a mobile port could be a part of that! If I do end up releasing one, I'll let you know!

Simple and fun game. really fit to be mobile game.

Developer

Thanks for the kind words! I'm definitely thinking about putting it on mobile, yea

Very polished game, I like the mechanic and the overall looks. Bonus point for the detail "How to play" section, very well done!

Developer

Thanks so much for your kind words, I really appreciate it! Glad to hear you liked it!!

A neat and unique puzzle game! Unfortunately the mechanics aren't really intuitive, which in a puzzle game, is quite important. But I think that is just an inherit flaw in the mechanic and not your fault. Perhaps a bit better UI could help. Other than that, I really like this game, its cool, unique, and looks great. Great work here!

Developer

You're definitely right! I don't think the red/green/blue is very intuitive, but I've already got some ideas on how to fix that. Also having some more introductory levels that ease you into the mechanics would help a lot here, which I'm also going to work on.

Thanks for your feedback and I'm really happy to hear you liked it!!

I just loved playing it and will continue to play this one till I finish it.

Waiting for more levels

Developer

That's very high praise! I'm very happy you liked it, means a lot to me :D

I'm definitely thinking of continuing to work on this, adding more mechanics and polishing it up some more. So if I do, I'll let you know!

Very well put together little puzzle game. I have to admit that I don't really enjoy the puzzles that much. For me, once you get it, it boils down to a word search like hunting for the answer rather than much lateral thinking. However others have clearly enjoyed the puzzles more than me so maybe this one just wasn't for me.

That being said it's still a neat and well executed set of puzzles for just a game jam game!

Developer

Haha that's very fair! I totally get that this isn't for everyone, but I appreciate you giving it a shot! Thanks for the kind words :)

Nice wee game! As others have pointed out, the UI isn't exactly the most polished thing, but I think it still provides all the fundamentals you really need for a 48 hour game jam. As for the mechanic, it's a clever idea; it could probably do with a bit more hand-holding at the start, to make sure what is actually possible is clear to the player (for the first few levels I focused only on moving tiles I wanted to bring together to get to the number, wheareas moving other tiles out of the way - and not caring what they add up to - is a powerful tool here). Nice job!

EDIT: I also forgot to thank you for giving the option to adjust the volume/mute. I really needed it at one point when trying to figure out one of the levels :P

Developer

I entirely agree with the points you made! The UI works in a sort of minimalistic, simple way I think, but it can definitely use some sprucing up as it's currently just the default Unity buttons with a color and a nice font. I also would've loved to add some introductory levels to help the player get used to the mechanics and things like creating gaps to move tiles around (as you pointed out), but simply didn't have any time left.

I'm glad you liked it! And you're welcome for the volume controls haha

Great start! With some polish and some tweaking of the rules, this could be great.

Developer

Thank you! Glad to hear you liked it!

Did you have any suggestions about how I could tweak the rules to improve it? I'd love to hear what you think

The first thing that comes to mind might not be tweaking the rules exactly, but the color combinations are hard to internalize. Having the result of the combinations be easy to understand quickly would help. This could be from a rule change, or maybe even just how it’s presented. I’m not sure.

Very neat, but not exactly pretty presentation. Not fond of the UGUI style giant buttons that aren't animated at all.

I think it might start far too difficult too. Your initial levels should aim to teach mechanics in a simple to follow way, but the first level in this is baffling. I solved it, but it required lots of thinking ahead, which as a new player was pretty tricky. If it had been "make a red 10" and the options had two side by side red 5 tiles, I'd have got it easily and learned something. Two red tiles produce a red tile with the sum on it. The next level could have been "make a red 10" with two 5 tiles, but one of them green.

In that way, you slowly build up the complex rules one by one in your players' heads. Much easier to get started like that!

Congratulations anyway, it's no simple feat to get a working game built in 2 days!

You're spot on with your feedback! I actually had kind of a busy weekend irl, so I could only use about half the time I normally would be able to. Because of that I chose to forego a lot of the art I'd normally invest time in and just focus on the technical rules behind it.

A better UI style is definitely something I'm planning on working on and of course a better introduction is an excellent idea. I only had about a handful of hours left when the game itself was finished to make a tutorial of sorts, so I settled for some screenshots with added instructions. I like your example of that, that seems like a great way to introduce the player more gradually to the whole concept.

I also just loved the way you designed your levels, visually speaking, so I might just take inspiration from that as well if you don't mind ;). Thanks a lot for your insightful feedback and I'm glad you liked it :D

You're welcome to copy the level design concepts from my game. It's not like they were invented by me personally! Game devs all over the world have gradually discovered what works and what to avoid. It even has a generic name for the process: Onboarding.

Saw it in the live and seemed like so much fun that I came to try it myself ! Nice game I love everything about it !!

Thank you so much! I really appreciate the kind words, happy to hear you like it :D

It is unfortunate Mark did not have mental capacity for your game, but I have enjoyed it :)

Developer

Hahaha yea, oh well. It was fun to see him playing it. Maybe he would've had a better time if he took a second to read the "How to play" haha. Happy to hear you enjoyed it though!!

Agreed!

Awesome game Witty! Very fun and easy to get the hang of :)

I am a big fan of the larger sized difficulties!!

Developer

Thanks a lot man! I'm happy to hear you liked it.

Those larger sizes can take a while to solve though :D
