Quite difficult but that made it addicting :D Really love the art. Great concept overall, well done!

Developer

Great to hear, and thanks for playing! :D

Well, I was very bad at this but gave it a few good gos! Some of the best pixel art I've seen, so clean and well shaded/contrasted. Loved the music too. Great submission!

Developer

Thanks for trying and for all the kind words! :D

I'm having flashbacks to Chomp Romp from Mario Party 5...

Developer

Haha I actually forgot about that minigame (despite 5 being the one I've played the most) but yeah, definitely some significant similarities. I definitely considered some more Chain Chomp-like designs in my initial sketches tho.

Great aesthetics and nice idea, but it was too hard for me (maybe it could be fixed by adding a few lives per try?). Also for example the first level layout was a bit tricky since you need to go to the wall, make the flail attack it, then make the flail go back to you and finally go through the hole (I think that room should be easier/quicker).

Anyway, it's definitely a great submission, congrats!

Ooh, first pico-8 game I’ve seen in the jam. I love the art that you’ve managed to create, especially the flair pickup animation. Unfortunately it’s way too hard for me, I can’t get through the second level.

Submitted(+1)

Great job putting something together in pico8. Concept for the game is real nice as well, challenging, but generally quite fair. So it takes a bit to master.

Developer

Haha PICO-8 is like my bread and butter for solo work
And thank you!

Submitted(+1)

I'm always down for a good challenge so long as it's fair! It was most certainly challenging, but overall I'd say it was fair considering that you had 48 hours to both make, test, and iterate. Definitely room for more iterating, but like, that's kinda the point! Great job with your concept too!

very fun and so polished, but yeah like others said its quite tough!

Submitted(+1)

Incredibly solid. Really enjoyed my time with it. I love how mean the flail is. Nice job!

Developer

Thanks so much! And yeah they're kind of a jerk haha

Submitted(+1)

Your concept is very innovative, although for now this game is extremely challenging. What impressed me the most is your time before deadline :D

Developer

Thanks! I definitely agree it could def use some more tuning and difficulty pace adjusting post-jam.
And haha yeah I cut it pretty close cramming in the gameplay music (there was no music at all before the last hour of the jam).

Submitted(+1)

oof, it's a bit too challenging for me but I absolutely recommend checking this game out. a unique idea (I played a lot of submissions but never played anything like this) mixed with cool teeny-tiny pixel art. high on my list, well done!

Developer(+1)

Glad you liked it despite the difficulty!
If it's any consolation I did spend several hours of development just tuning the levels (especially the wide pit room) to a more manageable state so it could have been worse :P

Submitted(+1)

didn't we all haha :D

Good game albeit a bit frustrating haha

I really enjoyed this! It reminds me a lot of the feeling of the game Crawl!  Really great work!

Developer

Honestly not sure what about the gameplay feels like Crawl to you, but thanks! :P
(assuming we're thinking of the same one - Powerhoof's 3v1 multiplayer dungeon crawler?)

Bro. If I die, I die. But If HE dies... I DIE??? Yet, HE's trying to kill ME? X)

That felt so unfair bro X). Through the whole game you really feel a threat constantly behind you. A threat that you're supposed to protect. Dammit! X)

But when you finally master the game tho. It feels GOOD. Like if I was toying around with a bull in a colloseum! X)

The game looks NICE! The music and sound effect really fit the atmosphere. That was nice! :D

Developer

Haha glad you appreciated it so much!

Submitted(+1)

Absolutely loved the idea behind it! Also, the art and music are lovely. The only thing I would give as feedback is that the game itself is quite tricky, getting frustrating rather quickly. Once balanced I am sure it will be brilliant. Good job!

Developer

*glares at the wide toggle-switch room in particular* Yeahhh there's only so much balancing you can do in 48 hours :P
Thank you so much!

Absolutely stunning pixel art, this game is ridiculously pleasing to look at.
Great job!

Developer(+1)

Aww thank you so much!

This game fit the theme like a glove!
Simple yet challenging concept with few frustration levels but nothing too difficult.
Simplistic art with cute sounds and music. Overall great work.

Developer

Thanks so much! Glad you didn't find it too overly difficult.

nice game and good pixel art.

Submitted(+1)

I really love the art, the gameplay is also interesting. I just love the art its so good :D

Developer

Aww, thank you so much! :D

Submitted(+1)

Hilarious concept, definitely rage inducing trying to jump through and keep the flail alive. Music and pixel art is exceptional. Really well done.

Developer

Yeah it ended up a little on the mean side (tho I did spend a good few hours tuning the levels down to a more manageable state so it could have been worse).

Thanks so much! The music was thrown together in the last hour so I'm glad it came out alright :P
