great game!!! for some reason I had to press shift+Q to return to the default gravity

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! That is very strange. In the update I am working on I now have shift as the gravity flip key to toggle on and off. I will update the game after the Jam :)

Host(+1)

Really nice game, the only downside is that I get really confused when the spacebar is used for anything other than jumping.

The controls were also just a bit clunky in general.

But other than that this is a really solid game with a lot of potential!

Developer

Thank you for your feedback and Thanks for hosting this Jam, I learned a lot!

Overall, I quite enjoyed this game. However, the game had some issues.

Pros:                                                                                                                                                                                                                    The art is stunning, minus the character being inside the roof.                                                                                           The Music and SFX are both really great.                                                                                                                                       I liked how you didn't just do something obvious with the theme, like a business man in  a fantasy world, and instead used the theme to come up with a unique mechanic.                                                                     You have some great level design.

Cons:                                                                                                                                                                                                                       I thought only one button could've been used for gravity switching                                                                              I didn't entirely like movement, as the character was a bit too quick, considering they didn't really have the ability to decelerate, and the jump was a bit too elastic.

4/5 (mean and median, as well as personal preference)

I can really see potential for this going forward. Also thank you for the follow!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! Yes I agree I will make Gravity flips 1 button and tweak movement. Yeah I figured out why the roof thing and will implement that in the update after the Jam. Thank you again for the feedback :D

Really cool game, I really enjoyed it! The gravity switch mechanic was cool, well-implemented and used well in the level design. As many have mentioned before I think you could use one button for the gravity switching though, as I sometimes clicked wrong button because I forgot which one worked when. Also, it would be nice if you didn't change so that jump was on "s" when standing in the ceiling, and instead always on "w", because it was a little disorienting for me.

But very cool game, I enjoyed it. It is pretty challenging, but I think that is good and fun. Also, good art and music.

Developer

Thank you for playing! Yes I plan on implementing one button for both.  Yes Maybe having s and w not switch might make more sense.

Submitted(+1)

Really well made. I think you can use one key to change the gravity.

Developer

yeah I agree thanks for the feedback!

Really good game I really enjoyed the art style, music, and the gravity mechanic. I did think that it was pretty challenging but in a fun way. Overall really really solid game made in 3 days so great job!

Developer

Thank you so much for your feedback! It was my first Jam :) Glad you had fun!

The gravity mechanic was well implemented and a lot of fun to play around with, though if you were to change it, I'd remap the switch to one button so no matter when you hit it, it would just flip your gravity from the current state. The platforming was challenging but very rewarding when I finished the two levels. I was really excited to see the boss fight but either the button isn't working, or you didn't have time to add it in- but either way, great entry!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing and glad you had fun! I will implement that next time! Yes I did runt out of time to add it in. Its my first Jam and have been learning to code and Game Dev the past Month and very Happy with the fun I had making it! Again I loved your game too!

A really enjoyable jam game, with amazing art. I am flabbergasted by how much you were able to do within the 72 hours. Great job!

Found a bug which you probably should look into where you can fly if you spam the reverse/normal gravity buttons, which opened up for a really nice speedrun. Think I have the world record now, haha! :D

The gravity is smooth, well done. I m kind of  disturb by the change of the jump/crouch but it's maybe just me.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your feedback! The gravity implementation was a lot of fun! I am planning on making Gravity switch into one button and smoothing out all the animations. Currently ducking has no effect but will implement those changes!

Glad you had fun!

Great art and sound! (other then a bit of pixel misalignment when falling or moving fast) The health icon should also probably be the same as the heart pickup. other than that great work! it was a lot of fun to play!

Developer

Thank you so much! Thank you for the feedback I will implement that and fix the pixel misalignment!

Submitted(+1)

Only thing I would add is a restart function for the level you are on  and not the entire game. (Also I need some tips for pixel art, my submission "Distant Home" is just squares and triangles with different colours).

Developer

Thanks! yeah that sounds like a great Idea, Im just learning how to code in Godot. Once I figure that out I will add that for sure!

Submitted(+1)

How the Godot Engine? Personally I use the Unity game Engine. Again, the game looks great, any tips for pixel art?.

Developer

For Pixel Art Aespirit, for the game I used GrafxKid https://grafxkid.itch.io/

I really like how this game looks and sounds but it's REAL hard :(

Developer

Thank you! Yeah I got to learn more how to create better pacing for the game. Ill look into the difficulty!

Submitted(+1)

Well done! nice graphics and physics! nice idea! a bit hard but well i'll keep trying!

Submitted(+1)

This was fun for what I could complete. I'm really bad at upside down controls so it made it a LOT harder.

Submitted(+1)

Reminded me of a level from Within A Deep Forest. Thanks!

Developer

oh cool! I will have to check that out!

Submitted(+1)

Developer
