great jump and dash game, was fun to play, the spikes especially on the edges need to be improved

Nice visuals and audio! The character was a bit too slippery, though; it was easy to slip into spikes. I think the spike hitboxes are too wide, too, which made hitting them even easier (and more frustrating).

Quite difficult platformer, I'd make the spikes hitbox a little smaller and shorten the dash cooldown. Nice audio and graphics anyway.

Really nice visuals and sound design! Love the animations of the little square guy, he's so cute!

Had some trouble with the platforming and wasn't able to get very far once the spike area came up. I'm usually not bad at platformers but really struggled with this one :( The spike hitboxes seemed to be bigger than they appear and timing my jumps and dashes was really tough, I couldn't really get used to it. Still had fun trying though!

Very nice game. I did not manage to finish it yet, but I will certainly try again later.

Very nice!  I'm glad I had my gamepad handy for this one.  Still quite tricky. Influenced by games like Celeste or Meat Boy I presume?  I liked the simple graphics.

Since I know you like platformers, you might like to try our game.

Glad you enjoyed trying it out - and yes, I absolutely love both of the games you listed. I really enjoy games with very straightforward mechanics but tight character control, so I definitely took some notes!

I'll be sure to check out your submission and leave some thoughts - thanks again!

Graphics are nice and I like the level design. I had to be careful with how quickly I pressed the keys, because the key combo of ctrl + w closes the tab (at least in firefox and chrome)

Developer

Thanks for the valuable feedback - I've gone ahead and changed the dash hotkey to shift to avoid hotkey conflicts within browsers.

Serves me right for building WebGL at the last second!

P.S. I'm very much a cat person so I'll be checking out your submission shortly! Thanks again!

Thanks for changing the keys, played again and went much better this time. Great game!

Love the idea and the style is very strong- the respawn animation is a very nice touch. Perhaps because I'm using keyboard/mouse, but I can't seem to get past the first dash portion. :'))

Hey, I appreciate the feedback - this highlights that I need to demonstrate the usage of core mechanics more thoroughly in future.

I've added an image below the game to clarify.

You are able to modify the dash using directional inputs to dash in any direction you wish, which when combined with jumping should allow you to clear any obstacle.

Thanks for taking the time to try out my submission and leave a comment. I'll be sure to give yours a try!

I'll be sure to give the game another go with this info! Thank you!
