Nice! It took me a bit to realize i have more than one and so I kept throwing and recalling it to use it again thinking "Man, I wish I had more" - lol :D Yes, I did learn I have more and then it was on!

This is really good, nice polish on it too. I think I only had one issue, the player was always slowly moving to the left.

Developer

Were you using a controller by any chance? If so then it's because we never had controller controls in mind and therefore never set a deadzone for input.

If it was on mouse and keyboard, then that's weird! What OS did you use? Any information would be much appreciated so we can work on fixing this in our next update! 😁

Submitted(+1)

I did have a PS4 controller plugged in to my PC using windows10, but I used the keyboard for controls.

Developer(+1)

Your PS4 controllers left analog stick might be misaligned and therefore the game registered left input while you were not pressing the A key on your keyboard. So while you weren't touching the horizontal movement keys on the keyboard, it would still register like a -0.1

I will make sure to add a dead zone during the update to prevent this from happening to any other players. Thanks for letting us know about this!

Well, this is a really not bad game.
Good theme concept (we made something same), a medium at graphic design and good, really good music. If you wrote this as own.

Cool work!

All music was made during the jam by Byronico! He was awesome! I'll let him know you liked the audio!

It was too much fun. I have nothing negative to say, the character animations were funny :D

I enjoyed jump everywhere and throw shurikens. But some movements are too rigid like the wall jump. Rewind mechanic is not highlight enough, shurikens could deal damage when we rewind. Despite these faults, it's a funny game and I think it's the most important to remember.

Nice job !

Great game, but it could use a little more gameplay.

Please rate my game as well.

Awesome work! I had heaps of fun with this game!

Things I particularly liked:

>The game made me feel like a ninja badass: movement and flow was on point; immediately I felt quite ninja-like, able to move around swiftly and with ease, wall jumping and richocheting my shurikens around felt very cool

>Sound/Audio: I loved the background music, also made me feel badass. Cool sound effects too.

Things that could be improved:

>I think you could have leaned more into the rewind theme: a lot of the time it felt somewhat unnecessary (in the open area at the start the shurikens auto-returned to me it seemed), and when I was using it inside it essentially just was a reload function (albeit where the speed of the reload is affected slightly by how far you threw the shuriken, but that was essentially a non-issue the entire time).  Even something simple like having the shurikens deal damage on the return journey too would have made it feel a bit more special.

>Greater enemy variety: This could have been a time thing due to the game jam, but I think having different types of enemies may have mixed up the gameplay a bit. Maybe an enemy with a shield which faces you so you have to ricochet shurikens to kill him; or ones that charge at you and are invincible while charging so you have to jump over them and then shuriken them in the back (just ideas). Otherwise it was mostly effective for me to throw shurikens at range just at the enemy's range.

>Maybe increase the damage of the enemies, and decrease the damage of spikes. I never felt threatened by the enemies really, I still tried to dodge their projectiles, but I probably could have brute forced them. Meanwhile I accidentally bumped the spikes twice which was an instant death each time.

Very minor stuff:

>I missed the first checkpoint the first time round, maybe make it so the player can't miss it (force them to go through a tunnel that its in) so they always activate it and know what it is

>The dash seemed quite weak/unnecessary, maybe beef it up a bit

>When jumping off ramped surfaces it seemed to automatically go into my double jump, meaning i couldnt jump as high.

Overall:

Had heaps of fun! While I would have happily played more, I felt the level size was a good length for a game jam game and it didn't outstay its welcome. Despite the fact the 'Things that could be improved' looks a lot longer in this review that's just because I wanted to be detailed on areas of potential improvement. I still had lots of fun while playing your game and thought you did great work!

Oh, another thing to add in the Minor Things area:

>The volume sliders seem to work on decibel scale, or similar; but the decibel scale is a curve (i.e. 2 decibels is 10x louder than 1 decibel and 3 decibels is 100x louder than 1 decibel), which means that from the left point on the meter to the mid-point on the meter is almost all non-existent. This is very minor (i didn't even have a volume meter option...) and I've seen lots of other games making this mistake too, but I think Brackey's audio tutorial explains how to fix this from memory.

Thanks for all the awesome feedback! 😁

Glad you enjoyed it, and we'll definitely take your advice to heart! Thanks for playing/rating!

Nice Game!

I enjoyed playing it.

That one is deeply fun, I really enjoyed that. Having only a few shurikens looked harsh to me at first, but when I rewinded them to my hand again, I said that I don't even need a gun anymore.

Double jump made it even smoothier, traversing around is easier than it looks.

I found it kind of easy, but as far as killing enemies gives me joy, easier is better, right?

A greatly enjoyable entry for this jam.

This game is really fun to play. I'm not lying.

The mechanics are so smooth, the game played like butter.

The character felt really op too which is a good thing.

A lot of devs actually forget that the fact that the game should actually be fun to play.

This game is complete opposite of that.

Good thing there's no rating for difficulty then 😂 😂

But thank you! I'm sure if we had more time we would've found ways to prevent the player from rushing through. Or maybe we would've agreed to keep it that way since Ninja's are badass.

Thanks for the feedback! 😁

Great game, movement and throwing shurikens feels really good

I really appreciatted all the features that you put in the game (specially options), the game is really polished, you guys really took your time to make it and it shows. I think you can work more in the art, and me movement, the physics of the jumps are quite difficult, especially when you are trying to jump the plataforms with spikes. I think the idea of the shurikens is quite innovative, when you catch up with the flow of the game it's really fun to play it.

Nice game, the wall jumps are just a little hard.

OMG this game is so smooth.  Easy to pick up and you immediately feel like a bad ass.  Rock on 3000!
