I'm not sure what's happening to the city, but it doesn't look too good. As always, great job with the atmosphere, vibe and theme.  You have almost a supernatural way of telling a story with very little words. The gameplay was pretty decent as well. I did think the days dragged just a bit, but even that was a minor thing. Great job!

The city was supposed to be a foggy rainy night. Thank you and thanks for playing!

The dystopian music kept me great company while begging shamelessly in the streets. After killing that many spiders from a panicked combination of candies (when sad) and medicine (when sick), I wonder sitting there with my hat extended at the sunset buildings, was Crunkle's plan a covert begging scheme all along?

I hear the children distorted laughter as I bag more coin, yet my spider dies as a teen once again.

(Loved the atmosphere, the system with the shop was a genius twist! My latest strategy is gaining as much coin as I can in the early game, and trying to sleep on time [low-key you have made me self-reflect on my existance])

Thank you so much, that's very inspirational for me to push my concepts a little further. Thanks for playing!

Was the game fun to play?

Seeing that Crunkle intro was a fun way to start the game and the artwork throughout is fantastic and is always a joy to see. I managed to get my pet spider to live for 32 days as an adult and I loved the little details like the fly buzzing around the skull. The cleaning mechanic with the tornado looks great too. For the hat mini game, I think to push the fun further, it could have multiple coins falling at once and being able to move the hat a tad faster.

Did the game include the core elements from the original?

Definitely. choosing a spider instead of a cute animal was a brilliant choice and fits the Crunkle lore perfectly. The game mechanics also share a lot of elements with the original.

Was there a clear path of progression?

Yes. Watching the spider grow larger provided a good sense of progression, whilst the RIP gravestone at the end is a perfect way to see how well you did.

How good was the audio and sound FX?

Music and sounds were excellent and perfectly set an unsettling atmosphere. I also liked that the volume can be adjusted at the start, though the default levels were spot on for me.

How well implemented was the UI?

The UI is very intuitive. The buttons are well labeled and the highlight effect makes it clear what's selected. I also liked the feeding button being darkened while it’s still an egg sack and the text being dark when you can’t afford certain foods. The mood icons were very easy to recognise and having a manual in the description page was a nice addition.

Thanks for playing and thank you for the feedback. I agree with your feedback, will definitely make changes if/when I continue this project.

The Atmosphere was fantastic!

I had this earie / intense feeling that I had to raise the pet or else their would be consequences, which was super neat!

The cherry on top would be to see a little scene of Crunkles reaction if you fail :D

Well done and such a cool take on the tamagotchi! :D

Thank you, thanks for playing, and thank you for your feedback.

I agree that a Crunkle end scene right before the tombstone would have been great.

Nice entry, it fit the theme really well!

I played without the stat toggle and I thought the ui did a pretty good job explaining what the pet needed.  Is there a stage past adult? Mine started getting sick and I ran out of money and then it died while I was working, Crunkle will be pissed..

My suggestion would be to allow different progression paths based on level of care.  Maybe Crunkle wants a really creepy pet, but if you do too well at taking care of it, it ends up being too cute, so you have to balance a bit to make sure it comes out scary looking.
Good work!

Thank you and thanks for playing!

There is a stage after adult, the pet can never get sick in order to reach it.

I liked in some of the old digital pets that they would "evolve" based on care and what they were fed, but I didn't have time to draw all that since I started 6 days late. I definitely agree and think that would make this a lot better. I also wanted to do a few mini games for work.

It was suggested elsewhere to have a reaction from Crunkle, I had to cull my requirements to have a chance of finishing it on time.

Thanks for your feedback.

Art is great as usual.  The game feels nice, but it gets pretty repetitive, which is common for tamagochi games overall.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I understand, I wanted to do more mini work games to break up the monotony, but didn't have the time since I was in the UK for work for the first six days and barely had time to get this done in time.

Guess im not a good pet raiser.

Was a little unclear when it needed stuff.
Working as a beggar with the hat, felt punishing, since its impossible to go from one side to the other and catch the coins.

But the music and your, per usual, very unique graphics style was top-notch.

Developer

It was like the original where you had to learn by looking at its facial expressions what it needed. But there is an easier mode if you press "i" while in the pet screen it will show the hidden stats and make it easier to make decisions on what to do.

The Coin collecting is meant to kick you out after a while, you should always be able to get 3-4, 5-8 takes a little luck, and 9-12 takes more luck, and anything more than that is really lucky. It's part of the design so that you have to keep working in order to keep feeding the pet.

Thank you and thanks for playing!

The most satisfying and sense making game loop I've seen by far.
