How does the game fit the theme?
Your mind goes to strange places the deeper into the mushroom rhythm hole you go (you get high)

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
I have a game framework I reuse for jam games I make (has parts for audio, data, dialogue, etc. managing). A third of the songs arent made during the time (crater and theres malware in my head)

How many people worked on the game?

Visuals

1 ... no mouse controls:

1.1 . outline focus button is hard to see in credits

2 ... some aesthetics miss-align like:

2.1 . pixelized icons vs some less pixelized gnome -> maybe is reason that on GUI is not applied shader material

Design

1 ... unique

2 ... gnome time to time becomes annoying

3 ... too hard if you are not used to that types of games

Controls

1 ... if you skip tutorial & you dont read game description you get lost

2 ... maybe add level 1 which specified key you have to press (cause I failed a lot of times to figure out controls even with publish page game description)

3 ... It required me 7mins to get used to controls (F->E) but still some

Sound

1 ... interesting sound tempo -> very good

2 ... maybe use gnome to add noise to tempo

Bugs

PS: What do you say which game has better "player dizzy effect" your or mine?

Great entry! The music was awesome and the genre is very rare to see in a jam. The game´s really polished, and the visuals are great, but I had a bit of trouble (as people mentioned) with the visual cues and how hard the first song is. The timing is also weird, so it felt more like I had to match pressing the buttons visually than musically/rhythmically. I liked the intro and the tutorial tho :)

Great game . For some reason my browers doesnt run it properly so its hard to time the hits But the game is good regardless.

Funky beats and fun rhythm game! Really cool to see something like this in the jam.

It's an interesting game, I played it for a while. But I really hate that gnome with the dialogue. The dialogue sucks!

Developer

which part of the dialogue do you not like. The fact it exists, the noises, the lines spoken or something else

It's can't be skipped, that's the most annoying thing. It's like school: the teacher tells you boring crap for a long time, and then you have to take an exam on that crap. The game design of most prototypes here is school or elements of it. It kills the fun. I think players just tolerate it, write hypocritical reviews, and then you see the low scores. A simple first level with hints is the best learning option, not a boring school. Seriously, the dialogue sucks, unless it's a visual novel.

Love the visuals and UI, the idea of making a rhythm game harder through visual effects (such as the bug stage)  I thought was especially cool and the ability to fade that effect in and out made for a trippy experience.  I'm also a shader lover, although I don't leverage it that much in my own games (yet), so seeing the use of them here was really cool and kind of made me think I should try to include them more often. Very nice polished game.

This was super fun to play! I love the UI and visuals, it looks very nice and cohesive. The music was awesome and made replaying the levels enjoyable.

My suggestion is to make an easier first level, Gnome Turn was a bit too difficult to start off with. But once I got the hang of it I had a lot of fun and was able to beat all the levels! Also I was sad that the gnome didn't appear after the tutorial.

I hope you add more levels, I would love to play more! Nice work on the game!

Hectic like osu. Nice game, but its get unreadable when arrows start stacking in one place.

This game gives off major osu! vibes, and since I'm a huge fan of that, I really enjoyed it. The first level was a little challenging to kick things off, but the game is addictive and well-executed. Great job on the rhythm mechanics! :)

BASED! I LOVE THIS GAME!

Game felt really smooth. I've not played many rhythm games, so I'm not that good at them. The indicators sometimes overlapped multiple times and could be hard to tell the timing sometimes especially with the noisy backgrounds. I think you could have swapped the first song with the last as it was a bit easier for a first time player. I like the take on the theme, but I think you could have shown more of that somehow in the game

Wow! That first song is tough! What a fun game though! Definitely see the Osu influence. Loved my little gnome friend showing me the ropes. Really got into a flow state in the end. Maximum fun. Good job, team!

I enjoyed this one. Good implementation. The visuals sometimes overlapped a wee bit too much for me and made it more difficult as a result. I've not really played rhythm games since the days of parappa the rapper and other similar old school games - so was good wee reminder. Especially the tutorial and 'dialogue' delivery. The distorted visuals and sfx were spot on too.

Well done on a great jam submission team. Kudos!

Really great music, and fun to play!! my osu muscle memory was clashing with the project diva muscle memory lol.

The notes were a bit off beat, it was hard to know when to actually press the key, and the calibration setting didnt work :( but I presisted through it and managed to have an A ranking in all songs :D
