I'm incredibly big sucker for low polygon aesthetics and art, so this immediately caught my eye with this. The game is atmospheric and creepy, albeit maybe a bit more variety in the lab itself would have been good, as without the minimap, this would have ended up endless chase around to find the place back (and guess who did that).
I don't know however if the objective gameloop itself is however that interesting long term, as it reminded me slightly of Lethal Company (wild stretch, I know), with the "assets" needing to be eliminated, but that in itself does grow repetitive. The style, the atmosphere and the graphics are good enough to try maybe do something else with this entire concept, instead of just slowly discovering the lab and why it is filled with the creatures itself. Naturally it is fine that's what you guys were going for, but I think in this given game, I would have loved some story, because I have been charmed by the general package of it.
Though the gun jittering while I was walking/running did make me laugh. I assume this is unintended, but what kind of game jam it is without some jank. Overall, my biggest congratulations on managing to complete the game!
I really like the atmosphere and the immersive mechanics.
The reload mechanic is interesting, and having the radar on the phone is a great immersive touch.
After a while, though, the gameplay can start to feel a bit repetitive.
Adding enemies with different patterns, maybe some that don’t appear on the radar or that interfere with the flashlight or radar, could make encounters more dynamic.
It could also be interesting to collect loot or trophies from defeated enemies to track your progress within a level.
Overall, cool concept with strong potential. 💚
I’d love to hear your thoughts on our game as well if you get the chance.
Well that was stylish and creepy, but also a bit empty, laggy and like super dark, I had to shoot all the time just to see where I am.
Overall, nice job, good luck I played it during the day, at night I would probably pass away:)
This game has such a mysterious atmosphere and I love the gritty visuals including the heart ui. The minimap was extremely helpful and made it very easy to navigate the lab. It may be a bit too helpful, though. I found myself staring at the phone while walking around, which is a shame because the lab looks great and genuinely unnerving.
The lab feels large relative to the number of enemies, but there is a ton of potential here if you plan to add more encounters and interactive things. Nice work on the game!
pretty nice visuals!
Thanks, that means a ton coming from you! nano and angplgecko1 went crazy with the 2D and 3D art, huge props to them :D
Wow, such a quality game for just a week jam. The environment and visuals are terrific, and I really like the fps handling :)
Thank you so much, cheers !
Aesthetics are incredible! Also enjoyable game in general. This is a good submission great job 👍
Fun fact: HEMA is a big company here in the Netherlands where you buy household goods
Thank you for playing and the kind words! Haha we didn't know about that, we're uhh... not affiliated 😅
I liked the game
Thanks for playing, glad you liked it !!
Stunning vibe. The visuals are so incredibly well done.
Thank you so much!
I have lots of fun. Great game!
Thank you thank you <3, will be checking out your game shortly!
Pretty cool, like the graphics and the overall vibe you went for. Great job
Thanks <3
Super cool game! The vibe is great when you first enter the lab and don't know what you are going to run into. The size of the starting levels could maybe be tweaked a bit. I found myself running around for a bit too long and it lost some of the spook factor (could be a skill issue lol). Would definitely play more of this!
Do we get to know what H.E.M.A stands for?
Thanks for the feedback. I think tweaking the size of the first couple of levels is a good idea because even we got kinda lost when playing haha, but thank you :] But maybe you will be able to find out what it stands for later on :00
Great looking game, the atmosphere is terrific! It also sounds great, the shooting is punchy, footsteps and enemies sound good. Also fits the theme perfectly!
Thank you! We were going for a very liminal/horror vibe for the theme :0
i only had problems with the web version, the controls were inverted and the camera freezed almost every time so i downloaded it and tried it again. real good game! loved the off-puting aesthetic
Yeah yeah the web version is weird, the procedural generation is kinda hard on the rendering, but I'm glad you downloaded the game :]
This was epic. Shooting feels good, audio and visuals were great, super polished. Well done!
Hell yeah, the dude devbones did take his time with the camera and gun! Thank you :]
