Hello everyone, this is Escape the Hoover!
I’m giving a funny idea a serious try.
I make games (or at least I try) that aim to make you think, laugh, and maybe panic a little.
Escape the Hoover is the current experiment.
I’m not an experienced game developer (I actually have 0 knowledge) and I’m taking my first real steps, using AI as a tool for prototyping and testing ideas, sharing early concepts, and learning in public through feedback and discussion.
If you enjoy seeing how a game idea grows from a rough concept into something real, you’re very welcome to follow me here!
Thank you!
Hi, I’m an independent creator with a complete concept for a dark fantasy narrative action RPG called The Shattered Company.
Well hello :D
My name is slim shady DevilLokk but just call me Will. I'm a multimedia narrative creator, I create across a lot of mediums. This includes audio work and music compositions, 2D and 3D concepts, writing and voice acting/narration etc, I also implemented a sweet small environment in PSX style (explorable in fist person don't know how I did that OuO)
I mostly create mythical, organic or straight up dark fantasy narratives. Currently I'm working on a project called "PNEUMA". It started as a short stories collection, then I added a concept art and it became a lorebook. And then it became an animatic (feel free to check it out when I'm done posting it.) Now I'm making it into an actual portfolio piece.
I mostly communicate through text (I'm not mute, just socially anxious)
¡Hola a todos! Soy Cristian de Perú. He estado trabajando intensamente en Darwin , un proyecto desarrollado en Godot que pone a prueba la habilidad y la paciencia de los jugadores. 🎮🔥

Hello everybody, I hope you are doing well. My name is Kentsoop, and I am a game developer from France. I have been making games since middle school; however, I have never finished any project I started and so never published them, furthermore my art skills are quite poor (especially in 2D art).
Over the past few months, I was working on my first major commercial project. However, due to my lack of confidence, it also remains unfinished for now. I plan to return to it in the future.
As a result, I have decided to focus on smaller projects and limit myself to working on each one for only a week, publishing it even if it is unfinished or imperfect. Once I have gained enough confidence in my skills, I will revisit them (with a one-month time limit) and eventually return to my main project.
That’s all from me. I apologize for the long message, and thank you for reading. I wish you all the best.
Hi everyone. I'm Darryl and I am an Indie game developer based in South Africa. I have created a game that is free to play and allows you to challenge your friends. You can play as a guest or register to see your place on the leaderboard - each daily challenge brings 3 levels of puzzle. It is loosely based on Scrabble, Tetris and freecell. Give it a try and please give me feedback. Play it now on https://freewordx.com . The Help/Settings button will give you the gameplay. Share the daily challenge with like-minded friends using email or WhatsApp.
Monkworks here. I went to school about 100 years ago for game design and digital art/animation. That officially makes me an old-school tabletop enthusiast. These days, I’m finally chasing the dreams and ideas that younger me assumed would already be done by now. I just released my newest tabletop game assets Hex Diorama Terrains.
Hi everyone! Nice to meet you all. I'm a pixel artist, and if you need anything, I'm at your service. I can work for a nominal

Hey! My name is Nikita, I’m Rendering Engineer, I was lead in Saints Row 3 remastered and we shipped it years ago: https://youtu.be/rL85F0TXCkQ Worked on enshrouded (mostly GI and volumetric GI): https://youtu.be/qygf4aICf34 And also worked on Six Days in Fallujah - RTXGI and optimizations: https://youtu.be/VF0c9SwewpA
I always was playing around rendering engines, rendering techniques but lately Im more and more gravitating into game development in general without paying too much attention to graphics (but it’s hard). 👋
Hello everyone! My name is playerzer0. I have been designing pixel based animation and art for video games since 2012.
When I first began this endeavor, I used Microsoft Paint on Windows XP. With limited features, it was painstakingly time-consuming. When I discovered how to make a spritesheet, everything took off.
Around 2014, I began spriting for RPG Maker XP projects and joined the RMRK community (https://www.rmrk.net), a forum for posting RM projects and artwork, and a general discussion board. That was the catalyst for sharing my work, learning from others, and growing alongside passionate creators.
In 2017, discovering Aseprite changed everything again. Having a timeline feature to animate sprites directly in the software was a huge improvement in my journey.
Thousands of hours later, I’ve built a comprehensive library of hand made, meticulously curated 8px, 16px, and 32px spritesheets. Every piece is crafted entirely pixel by pixel from original ideas and inspiration from iconic titles.
Over a decade later, I have become something of a journeyman of this craft; always improving, always refining, and staying true to the originality of my work. I am extremely excited now that it's 2026 to share my projects, games, and artwork with all of you.
Enjoy, and thank you for taking the time to read my Introduction post.

Hello world, my name is Vitor, and I’m 19 years old. I’ve been in the world of game development for almost a year now. I’m from Brazil, and I love game programming. I started this journey because of Markus Persson, the creator of Minecraft.
I really enjoy indie games, especially those that became very successful. A perfect example is VVVVVV and My Summer Car. My favorite hobbies are working on personal game projects, making music, and playing Minecraft.
Hello, everyone! I am UltraSuperPorkChop, the creator of an indie game I call The Masterverse!. (Yes, the exclamation mark is part of the title.) It is a game that is about this demon called "The Rebellious", who wants to destroy all reality as we know it. Why? Because he is full of pride, anger, and hatred. It takes inspiration from the Bible, but more dramatic and multiversial. It also takes inspiration from the MCU. You start off in one universe, playing through each character's own story and defeating their own worlds" villiains, before a crossover event happens where all the characters face off against a major demonic threat. The major villains are planned to be "The Destroyer", "The Law Breaker". and "The Rebellious" in that order. I have planned my ideas for this game for at least a few years now. It's not finished yet, but I have made progress. I have finished the first universe, currently titled "Universe: 003", and it's about a cardboard box boy named "Packbro". Pack as in "package". The story is he faces off against a villain called Lord Gost and his army of Gosts. The spelling of ghost as Gost is intentional. I am currently working on Universe: 004 which is about a trio called the Geometry Siblings faciing off against a gluttonous king called Big Belly. Universe: 001 will be shown off last, while Universe: 002 will be a comic series. Remember that most of ideas may change overtime and may not be finalized. I've already been on Itch.io for months and publised my game, so I'm not sure if it's too late for an introduction, but I don't think it would hurt. My skills are not the best, but I don't think I need to be a pro to create and share stories! I love science fiction and superhero stories. I plan on making The Masterverse! not just a game, but a creation hub and metaverse. My goals are to be the founder/CEO of my own company, make my own society, and make The Masterverse! a hub for creativity and imagination! I want to change the world and make it a better place with faith in God. If you want to check me out, there are some links below the image that will direct you to my pages. The first one will lead you to my Itch.io page, the second one will lead to my Neocities website, and the third one will lead you to my YouTube channel. The Masterverse! takes so much inspiration from all of my favorite video games, movies, TV shows, and comics, among other things. Well, this is my hello. May the Lord bless you all!
https://ultrasuperporkchop.itch.io/ https://themasterverse.neocities.org/ https://www.youtube.com/@UltraSuperMasterverse99Hey all, I am making a browser-based PvP card game called Necromancer! which is currently online.
I leave the server running so I can test it during my lunch breaks.
Feel free to make an account and test it with me. It's being coded via Replit.com which is an AI agent.
There is a PvP mode and a Play vs AI mode. PvP works but needs some fixes. I'll be fixing this and adding a ton of changes on my next paycheck (Replit is quite expensive to use).
I don't know anything about making games or coding, at all. I'm a musician lol.
The basics of Necromancer! is you play others online and attempt to steal their cards. When you get cards, sacrifice them to the Well of Souls.
Sacrifice enough cards and you prestige, resetting your progress. Prestige and level up to become Immortal, which resets your account, but comes with perks.
In the future I'll be adding a marketplace to sell cards to other players and a trading system.
It's supposed to be a grindy card-clicker type game, I'm not really sure though.
If anyone plays it and wants to leave any feedback, please feel free to message me here.
Hi! I'm Raymond, but in the game dev world people know me as TheRyCer.
I'm not a studio or a professional game developer — just a passionate gamer and a proud dad building games in my spare time.
Right now I'm working on a small indie project inspired by something very important in my life: rink hockey (hockey patín) and the journey of my 13-year-old son, who dreams of one day playing the sport professionally in Europe.
The game itself is not directly about rink hockey, but many of its themes, energy, and spirit come from that world — dedication, perseverance, and the excitement of chasing a dream.
Another goal of this project is to help introduce rink hockey to more people around the world, since it’s an amazing sport that many players have never even heard about.
If you're curious about the project, you can check it out here:
Any feedback, ideas, or support are always welcome.
And who knows… maybe this little game will help a few more people discover rink hockey along the way.
Hello, let me jump into this 10 year old thread and just say I am now considering myself an indie game developer, I guess. I am a content creator but not here to promote that really, I have been coding casually and sometimes for money since I was about 10 (I am now almost 42 which should be a meaningful year), I've completed 2 Super Mario World ROM Hacks including one with lots of custom ASM, and I have now started in on a sort of dream project (finishing a game is the first step lol), it is in C++ and I am building the engine myself using SDL2 and lots of time on my linux mint laptop, as well as keeping windows in mind on my favorite material belonging (my PC).
I am unearthing this old account, I might post some other random stuff from Unity that I want to just put out there, but for now enjoy my technically completed games that were mostly made for game jams, and never picked up where I left off. And eventually I will reveal more about this project as I actually design it, but it is inspired by the rogue-[like/lite] genres, and also Xenogears which is the best retro game of all time, no question. But I hate to draw comparisons to other games, so I will get a demo out and let people make their own conclusions.
Hello, I'm a new game dev.
I've decided to try different genres as a hobby because I needed to distract myself from own mind.
These last weeks have been fun!
I also like to play games (RPG, Visual Novel, action, hackslash...)
Unfortunately, I'm stupid, so I uploaded my first game on a new account and the page has been put under quarantine.
Hello everyone!
I am a pixel artist from Brazil, and I joined here to meet new people, expand my portfolio and get to work! Up to now, most of my digital art experience is with character-focused pixel illustrations, but I am willing to work on projects outside of my "comfort zone". Feel free to get in touch if you have any projects in need of a pixel artist! <3

Hello! New to itch as I recently released my first game. My name is Karlon Adhihetty, I'm a traditional artist from Toronto and I've been painting on Game Boys for the past 3 years under the handle Neat Game Boy. Recently went on a side quest to break into GB Studio development with an official game for an old show called Kenny vs Spenny. Having a ton of fun with it, very hard work though! I hope to keep going once the game is complete and release some stuff with my own original stories. Will attach some of my hand painted Game Boys !
Hi! My name is ITech (I prefer not to share my real name). Nice to meet you and welcome to itch.io! I hope you're having fun on the platform. Honestly, your Game Boy drawings are insane — really impressive! I've been here since the end of 2025 and released my first game called Garage Tycoon (here’s the link if you want to check it out: https://itech1.itch.io/tycoon-garagem). Just like your project, mine also needed a lot of work to get close to perfect, but it had bugs and I didn’t have time to fix them, so unfortunately I had to discontinue it. However, I’m working on a near relaunch of the same game, just adding some finishing touches, and it should be back online around April. I’m from Portugal.
Hi again! Thanks for the follow back and I'm glad you enjoyed my games. I'll definitely give yours a try too! Check out my Discord server (the link is at the end of the description of Garage Tycoon: https://discord.gg/7kPdvscaQr - I hope you enjoy!
Hello everyone !
I'm Ben, a solo indie dev just trying to make it work in this space!
Check out my first game release if you like and let me know your thoughts , its greatly appreciated.
I originally told my self i would take a week to make this game, just under a month later and its still being made lol, its released now but definitely not in its finished state, and theres lots more i would like to do with it.
Hey all,
Figured I’d finally stop lurking and introduce myself.
I’m Alex, been a mechanic for over 30 years, so I come at game dev from a very “figure it out, break it, fix it better” mindset. Recently started building browser-based and text/incremental style games. Nothing flashy yet, but I care more about solid systems and gameplay loops than polish at this stage.
Right now I’m working on a couple projects:
I’m still early in the dev side, learning as I go, but I’m consistent and actually finishing things instead of just thinking about them.
I like systems that feel meaningful, progression that isn’t fake, and mechanics that actually make the player think a little.
Anyway, glad to be here and looking forward to seeing what everyone else is building.
Hi, I'm TheColombianKidd aka TCK98 aka ReconScope... I been doing game dev for almost about a year now... 3D modeler, C# scripter and looking to learn more as I go. I am NOT a professional, but I'm here to learn and grow, maybe make some new gamedev friends and get creative. Yeah that's all I got- ok bye.
Hi everyone! I'm True Star Games, an indie developer working with Unreal Engine 5.
I realized that I love game development, so I started learning how to make games. I began with small personal projects, and recently I released my first horror game, Still Asleep.
In this game, you’re trapped inside a nightmare and must find a way to escape before dawn.
If you’d like to check it out, it’s free:

Thank you very much!
Hi there.
This is PAL Studio, an italian solo development project that is starting into the indie scene with a new game, GPX: https://pal-studio.itch.io/gpx
Thanks for those who will contribute to let this project grow.
Hi, I'm Charlotte. I'm a 30 something year old AFAB who writes. I've been passionate about it for a long time. My current genre is fiction/fantasy with sci-fi and romance. My works are heavily influenced by games like Xenogears, Xenoblade and many, many books. Think Santiago meets Kaiju Preservation Society
As one of my reviews put it: "
"A refreshing science-fantasy romance novel. Exploring themes of loss, guilt, forgiveness, and trauma (both personal and societal). Refreshingly trope free and subversive, with great world building and a lovable cast of characters"
