Game Description
Get to the fridge. Maybe chug some beers along the way. Enjoy some stairs. Keep up the MOMENTUM.

How does your game tie into the theme?
You need to keep your momentum in check and keep yourself balanced, while avoiding obstacles, that mess with both.

Great job team, the game is fun and beautiful !

Would love getting drunk again.

i'm extremely impressed at how polished and well-made this game was, even with such a large team size! i can only imagine how difficult it must have been to coordinate everything, but all aspects of the game came out super well ^^

the art is incredibly charming, i like how you even redrew assets like the godot logo and the wildcards, and flasky is annoying in the best way possible haha

the controls are super wonky but that's honestly the best thing about them, i really enjoyed stumbling through all the levels, it was very satisfying as well to just barely clear a set of stairs. the music fit the game well too, one of my favorite parts was at the end, where you finally get to the fridge, and have to stumble towards it with backwards controls while angelic music plays.

honestly, this feels like the kind of game that would be amazing with achievements, haha. if you guys ever made a full version, i'd def play it! great work :3

Developer(+2)

the backwards fridge controls is actually a bug that keeps rearing its head, glad you thought it was intentional though! Thanks for the kind words!

achievements coming up! we pinkie promise.

Such a monumental effort here from all that absolutely pays off.  Genuinely a very fun game, i really liked the git commit credits at the end too.
Well done all!

Amazing game, congrats to the team. One of my favourites.

I'm happy that there was proper loading screen and shaders have been cached, because I've been playing it on a old laptop and it worked very well.

Thanks for making it open source, I'll review the project so I can learn from it :)

I'm going to be honest and say I've been avoiding playing this because I thought for sure it would make me queasy. Amazingly, it didn't make me queasy at all and is one fo my top games of the jam! Some of my favorite parts:

  • party foul as the exe name
  • fence gap you look through on the main menu
  • billy joel!
  • the git messages on the credits (brilliant and I might steal this)
  • Flasky twerking
  • the drunk shader

I will say the cacti were evil, and I was sad I picked up a piece of pizza but didn't eat it. It's rare that I see other 3d jam entries as visually polished as ours tend to be (shaders, fx, etc), but this was fantastic. I might message one of you on discord in the near future (after voting's over) with some questions if that's okay. Great job!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

You are more than welcome to ask any questions over on discord :)! Not all of us are active in the jam group, but I can for sure connect you with the right person for the topics you got. We actually failed last minute to put our team logo relating to the "party foul" (which was our working title) and the updated custom project icon, but I can share the team logo here! Billy was played like a hundred thousand times while we were at it, good song to descend into madness during a jam!
May I ask if you mean queasy as in motion sick or something else?
Thank you so much for giving it a shot either way!
(You probably DID eat the pizza, but there is no fx for it, maybe not even a sound, it also does just lower your drunkness and nothing else :P Just as evil as the cacti.)

Love the logo! Yes, queasy as in motion sick. When my kids want me to play minecraft, I need to build up stamina over a few days time. If it's been a while, I get motion sick way too easily. 🥴

Stylish and silly. Definitely had to turn down the vfx intensity (thanks for making it a setting!) cause it was making me drunk. Had fun though the "frustrating" controls (obviously part of the mechanic) had me confused sometimes. Like I couldn't go up some stairs without backing up a bit to get a running start.

There is nothing I don’t love about this.

Amazing game that feels super polished and extremely fun! As somebody said, it feels like a complete paid Steam game experience! How you managed to do such an amazing job is beyond me!! Congratulations!!!

There's nothing in this game I don't love. Brilliant take on the theme with flawless execution. Bravo!

This game is just impressive
Love the the art, sounds, you have a nice Ui as well.
The fact that you need to give a little push to go up stairs without going down facing upwards was a nice touch xD
It is a fun experience
Everything in this game looks amazing xD

Congrats on the submission!

Incredible job guys, this is easily my favorite so far! Very original, fun, stylish and entertaining. An amazing accomplishment for a game jam, so impressed. Happy holidays, best of luck

So impressive for a jam, feels like a whole ass game I'd play on steam. Blown away when I stumbled into another level after level.

Presentation was off the charts, great use of shaders and movement simulate your inebriation.

Even menu to level was great with how you used the fence as a backdrop into the game and then being consumed by the fridge only to stumble out to the credits, very artful.

Great work.

Amazing you were able to imbue so much style into a Godot game! Are you using IK on the rig? I have never been successful getting those setup in Godot.

Developer(+3)

Thanks. Yes the whole player has no animation. All of its movement is procedural with IK on the limbs and look at modifier on the head. Feel free to have a look, the github is linked on the game page.

This game is amazing, it made me smile and was a delight to play. I loved the little flask buddy, and laughed out loud when he asked 'Is that a rug? I hate rugs' when I tripped outside. In the grass.

The way this game looks and feels is so good. I felt kinda drunk myself playing. The art style is amazing, the music was great, and I stuck around to hear the awesome rendition of You May Be Right at the end. This is one of my favorites from the jam. Awesome work!!

Developer(+2)

We were wondering if anyone would recognise or even know the song. Max did an amazing job on it and also introduced the rest of the team to it. From threr on we were blasting it every day during the jam for +moral

Developer (1 edit) (+2)

Someone has seen the end!! Thank you so much! We are a bit worried about people sticking it out with the performance issues and shader crash & cachery :D Hope to update the game after the voting period to feature more of the team's ideas that didn't make it in for the jam (or were simply out of scope) for the people that enjoy the game.
I followed the wip art of your game via the discord group, so nice to see how it came together, we should have done some sharing ourselves!

These two reminded so much of Harry duBois and Horrific Necktie. Absolutely cool game

Developer(+1)

Oh my god I loove you, that's exactly what I was trying to channel, the second coming of Harry and the necktie :'D
