Not my best performance. The timing is tight, but the level design is good (from what I've managed to complete).

This is quite an interesting concept! The speed and sensitivity of the flippers does make it feel unreactable when you reach a new area, but the quick replay and number of different routes makes it less frustrating and more replayable (oh, now I've gotta make it there again!). My highscore was 2000!

Developer

Nice! That’s a respectable score! Glad you enjoyed it! I’ve redone the flippers a number of times to make them less sensitive but I must be overlooking something silly. It’s the one thing about the game that has bugged me

Submitted(+1)

I absolutely suck at this :p But it’s an incredibly fun game with a great concept. Great work!

Submitted(+1)

Whoa! This is a pretty new concept, never played any games like this one! Played it for more time than I thought I would. Great Game!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! I am glad you enjoyed it! My goal was to make something fun and replayable

It looked like the flippers were hitting the ball often, but it didn't always respond to them.  I like the idea of this.  Nice work!

Developer

I just made a change that made the flippers a bit more forgiving… it’s still tricky but less hard to redirect Mr. slime.

Thanks for playing!

Cool game! I like the pinball concept in a maze, and the visuals look great. It seems I am not the best at timing though :D

I did notice some issues on firefox. The sprites were rendered behind the black background (couldn't see them), when I tried it on microsoft edge everything looked fine.

Developer

Thanks!

You’re not the first to mention the Firefox issue. Turns out, the map is rendering in front of the other sprites. Seems weird that it works in other browsers. Looking into a fix

Developer(+1)

I uploaded a fix. I tested it locally so I assume it will “just work ™”

If you give it another try, please let me know if it works or not. I can validate myself but I have to walk to my other computer #firstworldproblems

Sorry for the late reply, everything works great now on firefox!

Idea and style are awesome. Sound design is very on point and music is fun ;D Gameplay is quite addictive. I love it. It has its own taste.

I like the concept a lot, always a fan of pinball. Retro sounds and art are nice too. On Chrome desktop is runs perfectly, on firefox desktop it freezes for me after clicking play and on android firefox, the sprites don't load fully unfortunately.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for telling me about Firefox woes! I was unaware! 🤔 And thanks for the other feedback 💖

Developer(+1)

Firefox Fix has been deployed!

The art is superb. The description says, “Watch out! The timing is tricky!” – and for me, I could barely survive even 6–8 seconds :) Still, I really like the game idea, and the sounds are an extra +1 from me.

Cool game with the pinball idea. Love the art style. But i find it's a bit difficult for me. Anyway, nice job.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I’m going to make the paddle interaction better which will hopefully make things easier

Really cool idea, I think pinball works well for the 20 second game concept,  but i found it very tough. Most runs I'd splat into a wall in the first few seconds. May well just be a skill issue my end. Cool submission

Submitted(+1)

Its difficult navigating the pinball around. I mostly get squashed on walls after 5 seconds hahaha. Nice game and concept though!

Submitted(+1)

Oh woa, this is a really good (and fun) game idea!
I'd have really like sound effects too but this is such a good concept!

Developer(+1)

Sounds are coming. I like doing everything myself and as such, I have to pick and choose between “art day”, “music day” and “programming day”. Most of my days are programming days

sweenist, I just played your game, Short-lived slime, and I had a LOT of fun with this game. I really enjoyed the core concept of this game alone, a pinball game to where instead of a regular ball, you play as a little green slime, and you have to control the little yellow paddles to guide the slime and time it just right so that the slime doesn't explode into a million green particles. Also, I noticed a little "adventure" element to the game, to where you can explore different small areas and can even collect fruit, all of this done in under 20 seconds. Oh, and some of the animations in this game, such as the clock ringing animation and the slime exploding is REALLY well-done, and honestly, this whole game reminds me of those old early 90s freeware games on the MS-DOS. Now, I completely understand that this game is still in development, and that you really didn't have any time to put out any music or sound effects, but if you have the chance, it would REALLY help your game be more enjoyable. Oh, and if you WANT to make music right now, I strongly recommend Chrome Music Lab/Chrome Experiments for beginners. Trust me, Duckie 'n' Egg's music is ENTIRELY made in Chrome Song Maker, and I still use it for little music doodles to this very day. Overall, 4.25/5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐🌘 Great job on taking a regular old concept and taking a unique spin to it, sweenist!!!

Also, sweenist, if you have the time, if you would check out my submission, Duckie 'n' Egg, and play and rate it, I would VERY MUCH appreciate on what you're doing, and it would really mean a lot to me. Cheers and good luck on your indie game dev career! ⭐❤️

Thank you for the thorough feedback!

Music and sound effects are something I’m going to add. Between using Sound fonts on Reaper FM and messing with a couple other tools, I expect to have something up with sound… soon.

Thanks for the recommendation for the Chrome Music Lab. I’ll check it out!

I’ll check out Duckie ‘n’ Egg here in a bit.

Much appreciated!

A fast paced pinball experience is definitely a solid concept for the title. I had fun playing this and you did a great job. Very challenging and great job! :)

I don't understand how to play. Please advise. Also please check out my game.

Hi PikonParadox! Use the spacebar or click the “PLAY” option to start the game. Use the spacebar, Left Mouse click or on touchscreens, tap to flap the paddles.

I played your game last night! I really liked the asthetic!
