We saw all (?) three endings. Interesting game, I see you used dialogic too :D where do we find that skip button, we need that too xD I liked the retro-artstyle, reminded me of old lucasart adventures. Good job.
Thanks for playing.
And yeah Dialogic is a must i think when you do dialogs.
The skip button doesnt come with Dialogic though,
However its verry easy to implement,
extends CanvasLayer func _on_skip_pressed() -> void: if Dialogic.current_timeline != null: Dialogic.end_timeline() passThat code on a canvas layer with a button is all you need
That sounds simple enough, thank you very much :)
Awesome game! To be honest i didn't realize that something was going wrong until i saw someone in the mirror near the end, so i followed all the instructions in my first run. Also, in the beginning i forgot about the thermostat and went straight for the kraken thing in the TV to see what would happen and did the cold for the thermostat by accident because it was in the middle. I tried also the good ending, by doing everything wrong.
This was really good the way it jumped between controls was a little confusing for the different challenges. Otherwise was a great play bang on theme, great story lovely art and music.
Fun, spooky game - I enjoyed it a lot! 😎
Great story & writing. The only thing I would change is the instructions for the fill-the-crack game. I spent most of that game trying to figure out what buttons I was supposed to push. 😅
very interesting game, i think the story is well thought out and th visuals are quite good, it's just a bit confusing because sometime it promts me with e before i am able to interact with said object. but other than that one minor issue very good job. i had fun with this
Thanks for playing and your feedback, and while the mirror pieces where a style choice i think its clear that they need to be a bit more the same on the edges for it to feel good,
I didn't mind the mirror puzzle it self too much. It could be clearer but what I meant was if I immediately go to the bathroom it tells me to press e on the mirror. Ut nothing happens, then when the mirror breaks i can interact with it.
so my suggestion was to make it so either a) it's doesn't prompt me to interact when it does nothing
or b) open the same screen that you open when the mirror breaks but the mirror is not broken and it just says something small to add a bit of extra story/character :)
but regardless i think your game was quite good and i enjoyed it!
Wow, Static Awakening really nails the creepy vibe — the tension is top-notch. Some mechanics felt a bit clunky and could use smoothing out, but it’s a solid jam effort. Loved the visual style too, very immersive. If you’re up for it, I’d love for you to check out and rate my Halloween jam entry too: https://itch.io/jam/gamedevtv-halloween-jam-2025/rate/3971977

thanks for playing, tomorrow i will do a new round of play testing i might do yours to
Great entry. I finished the neutral ending and loved the game. The story, the art, and the music were all amazing. For what it is worth, I refused to switch the music. Shout out for making your own tracks. I aspire to create mine for my future games as well.
I really felt stupid :( when I realized I had been manipulated all along. It made me think, am I that easily fooled.
The mini games were good. The mirror one could use a bit more polish, but it was fine overall. As for the radio mini game, I have been fascinated by sine waves for a while, so I was curious how you validated the player’s waves against the intended one. Did you use length and amplitude with an error margin.
Anyway, great work.
Thanks for playing and the feed back, glad you stuck with the music, i can imagine it got a bit tedious after a while
The math for the frequency was actual very simple because it didn't had an offset. I knew the target and i knew the current at any moment.
than for a simple score i could just do
Really awesome experience! Although i got the bad ending hahah. The puzzles were interesteing to solve as mini games and the writing was top notch (especially important for such a story driven game!). Apart from that the aesthetics were also nicely done, the little text sounds and popping in and out of the characters while on the phone added nicely to the dynamism of the scene. Also fit the theme perfectly, all round a great game, congrats!!
Thanks for playing, Yeah the bad ending is where the game leads you to and was my take on the trick for the jam
Spooky. I like the mini games and I like the way the story was told. I also like how the faces appear when speaking on the phone.
It doesn't bother me at all, but just FYI I noticed a few spelling mistakes in the dialogues.
Nice game, the background visuals were nice and reminds me of something I'd come across of an old flash game. The endings made for an interesting twist for the puzzles themselves.
Thanks for playing, and glad you enjoyed the twists
For anybody still playing and is curious there are 3 endings in the game a spoiler part in my game description, where i explain a bit the plan for the game, the endings and the clues you might have seen or missed in case anybody is curious
Here's a Video of my play through for you
I enjoyed the different puzzles, and the dramatic dialogue/story was engaging. The last puzzle seemed broken. I didn't do anything aside from wait for it to get to the end.
Great job bringing a lot of different elements together in a short time, and making an engaging story with it.
Well done!
Thanks for playing an recording the play trough that is very interesting for me to see how others play it. Maybe the last puzzle was not clear enough. The idea is that you kept your mouse button in the marker to follow, if you follow correct (70%) you seal the crack, if you don't follow or make to much mistakes it won't seal. But since one of the ideas is to not follow the pointer and let it run its course or just leave it still worked out well for you. I don't want to give to much spoilers but doing at least 1 mini game the correct way and 1 the wrong way you get the medium ending.
ahh multiple endings! I didn't realize that at the end.
Nice :)
This is such a great submission! Visuals, story, puzzles, everything. I played multiple times to get all the endings. Really impressive considering the limited time. Only thing is I kept trying to walk with WASD until I remembered I had to use the arrows keys, but that's literally the only improvement I could think of. Awesome game
Thanks for playing, The WASD is noted, i feel its outside of thebug fixing to do that now but in a future update i will make them configurable
Same as Kunasasin wrote, but with alternate WASD. Leave the arrows, but add WASD as well. It's more intuitive. I'm not a fan of 2D and puzzle games, but the story was presented excellent and I reached the neutral ending. Well done!
Thanks for playing and i am glad you liked the story, And yeah i wanted to make the keys bindable however i ran out of time for that.
Nice game but I suggest to use WSAD instead of arrows. I had to hold my mouse to click leave then go for arrows to move and then go all left to E to interact again, so much work for so little action.
Thanks for playing, and i fully agree with you about the WSAD keys, and the mouse, i myself liked the arrows for this but was planning to make the keys bindable so you can decide on your own keys. I could not manage that anymore in the time, but i should have made esc or q exit the minigame.
damn. What a great little game. It took me a little while to figure out that I needed to press 'e' to stand up. Couldnt understand why I wasnt moving. But with that out the way it was great. I have to be honest I saw the little minigames and I was like "oohh...one of these again. Some simple games batched together" but the genius behind this is what happens when you play it the second time :) not giving any spoilers away here. I really loved the whole experience
Question: I know you did this in Godot and I use Unity but I loved the sound(s) that you used for the text appearing on the screen - how did you achieve that/what sounds did you use? Been trying to get the same effect in one of my other games!
Thanks, i am glad you enjoyed but you did not have to tell me 3 times ;)
About the e i added an extra outline so it would pop more i gather that it wasn't sufficient? (i didn't want to make a to big change)
About the sounds, i use an addon called Dialogic, the sounds come from there, but i checked and they are apparently by "Typing sound effects by Tim Krief". If you want to see the code is at https://github.com/dialogic-godot/dialogic Hope that helps
yes honestly I didn't even see the E to start and I was wondering what I was doing wrong, so somehow making that significantly more clear would be good. The thing is once I figured that out that problem immediately goes away and the rest of the experience is great. Are there 3 endings? I got 2. Neutral and Good I think.
Yeah there are 3 endings, i added a spoiler part in my game description just now where i explain a bit the plan for the game, the endings and the queues you might have seen or missed in case anybody is curious
