also darn cliff hangers!

Developer

Thanks for playing our game!

I missed the jumpscare because I walked backward into it lol. I did get spooked when it showed up in the mirror though. Good job with the atmosphere!

Developer

Thanks! We will make it a bigger game in the future

Just a couple thoughts after playing the game:

  • Pretty cool that a guy comes in to fix the tv after you call the front desk, but there’s nothing different about the tv afterwards?
  • Had to play again to find the cat after reading the comments
  • Pretty sure that’s not how mirror works…

Nice entry.

Developer

You have to turn the TV on, a little cartoon will start playing

Nice quick halloween game! Very spooky!

Someone said there was a cat?  I never did find him...

Developer(+1)

The cat is behind the sofa, is a painting hahaha

Really enjoyed playing The Guest — the atmosphere you created had me genuinely on edge, especially the flickering lights, rain outside the window, and that mirror moment. The setup felt tight and focused. If you decide to expand it later, maybe a little more room to explore or a few extra interactive layers would really elevate it. Great job overall!

If you get a moment, I’d love for you to check out my jam entry too: 🎮 Hush Boy, Hushhttps://itch.io/jam/gamedevtv-halloween-jam-2025/rate/3971977

The room in first part of the game was spooky. The amount of interactions in the game at the beginning were really cool and made me want to find out more about the story. I found one hilarious glitch where the man that came in into my room, he clipped through the TV when he walked in before walking out of the room.

The room design was marvelous and so was the rain that I saw outside the home window. It's too bad this game is really short because it had the makings of a truly great game. The horrific atmosphere (e.g. flickering lights, lights brightening up in some areas, the rain outside, etc.) really got me hooked into this game.

I may have made it to the end where some person spooked me after the door opened (other door, not the bathroom door). That was fun of a jumpscare.

Developer

Thank you for playing our game! We will make it a full game, with more places to explore and more things to do!

Awesome submission! Really great spooky atmosphere built in here! The mirror scare was well crafted too. Nice work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing our game! Really glad you enjoyed it!

Submitted(+1)

I liked the aesthetics of the game quite a lot!

That cat scared me more than other jumpscares though... then I laughed because I've got scared by a meme cat...
It was a fun little experience. Great work. :)

Developer(+1)

It is a scary looking cat, it looks like he is ready to beat you up hahahahaha

Nice vibe is a selling point of this game. I would change the placement of buttons to make a call because it's impossible to call and not spin around at once.

Developer

Yeah, we have to figure out how to not move the camera while the player is trying to make a phone call. Thanks for playing the game and thanks for the feedback!

Submitted(+1)

Maybe try a modal window and unlock the mouse when it appears?

Developer

We'll try that!

Submitted(+1)

fun little game, has potential for a good horror game! Seeing something in the mirror and looking back to see it gone would be a cool little fear building thing I think, I expected it, but maybe its better empty to just build suspense lol

Submitted(+1)

Room service was a real surprise, the lighting and the ambience really gives a suspenseful and tense  gameplay, looking forward for its completion. Congratulations! keep it up!

Developer

Thank you! We will continue to update it and make it better!

Submitted(+1)

I really got goosebumps while playing. Good start, keep it up.

Developer

Thanks! Really appreciate the feedback!

Submitted(+1)

Oh god, those jumpscares!

I liked room interaction and part where player watches tv.

Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it! And sorry for the jumpscares hahaha

Submitted(+1)

Damn jumpscares! Other than that, I really love the aesthetic and it was a really cool experience.

Developer(+1)

That front desk guy scared me.. He walked right into my face lol. I like the hints for interactions which I am missing in my game.

I think the mirror is flipped (I am standing on right but my reflection is on left), but overall its scary. Mirror Image

Developer(+1)

Yeah, unfortunately for some reason we couldn't fix the mirror hahahaha

Submitted(+1)

this game made me scream hahah!

Developer

It is a scary game hahahha

Submitted(+1)

Even when you know a jump scares coming,... its still a jump scare :P

Nice compact set of interactions to explore around the space.
I should have just sat and watch TV though :D, seemed a good program :)

Great job, well done!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! We wanted to make a bigger map with more things to do, but it was our first horror game, so we had a lot to learn, and because of that, less time to make the game bigger. Next time it will be better hahaha

Submitted(+1)

SUPER COOL!

Developer

Thanks! Glad you liked it!

Submitted(+1)
