We loved playing your game hahaha

Many interesting and funny dialogue options, this is seriously amazing!!!

[Update] Had to check if there was sound ---> there wasn't

The game could benefit from sounds and UI changes, other than that I would love to see you keep expanding on the idea <3

Developer

You guys tried my game! That's so unexpected but I'm happy! I plan on continuing work on this game now that the jam is over, so I'll make sure to add some sounds and other elements to improve the overall experience. Thanks a lot for your kind feedback, I'm glad that you see some potential here

Also, once the game is a bit more refined and easier to play, would it be okay to ask for your feedback once again? I would really like to hear your thoughts once this game gets more to show

We got you! 100%

Developer

dude I was so nervous to check your response thank you for saying yes I'll do my best

Submitted(+1)

Feels like a funny life sim. All the questions and life summary are great lol.

Developer

I'm so glad you played my game! It's still pretty barebones because I miscalculated the time, but I plan to keep updating to hopefully make it a lot more fun

Thank you so much for trying my game out!

Submitted(+1)

very interesting and a fun little game! enjoyed it quite a lot, loved the silly little quiz between each life and reading what the life ended up entailing. good job!

Developer

yippe! I'll continue updating and fixing the issues to make it live up to your kind review

thank you for playing!

Submitted(+1)

Plesantly surprised, I have no idea what I just played but I think I liked it, good job! ദ്ദി ˉ͈̀꒳ˉ͈́ )✧

Developer(+1)

dude thanks a lot, I know i fumbled hard but I'm glad you still gave it a chance and liked it, thank you for playing

also really enjoyed your game, it's a unique twist on the theme and carries itself with drop-dead levels of style

Submitted(+1)

Dying because my heart is faster than the ghost chasing me is a good way to die XD
I liked the generated life summary

Developer(+1)

I'm very happy you liked it, I'll keep working on the game so that everything else is better too

Thank you for playing! Also I really enjoyed your game, hunting for secrets was very addicting

Submitted(+1)

This was interesting, I think the absurdity of it all kind of added to the fear factor, haha. I didn't actually find out if there was an ending to this game, I believe the ending is supposed to be the letting go button. As in, you can continue to keep living different lives seeking meaning, or you can finally let go. Perhaps all the seemingly random questions were meant to represent the life lived of the person you picked to live as. Either way, a fascinating game to be sure. Good job!

Developer(+1)

that is a very beautiful take, and I'm thankful that you took the time to interpret it, even when it is so barebones.

this was my first game jam so I terribly miscalculated, and ended up with a very bare game

I'll continue to update it and hopefully make it as beautiful as your interpretation of it

Thank you for playing!

Submitted(+2)

Interesting concept, I was a little confused but maybe that was the point. The court with their nonsensical questions were weirdly threatening!

Developer(+1)

Only partly haha, I miscalculated how much time I'd need because this is my first jam ever, and ended up with a lot of missing features.

I'll keep updating to smooth the experience out

Thank you for playing! Also your game was sick, it's seriously addictive

Submitted(+2)

The weird questions were fun haha. Great work!

Developer

I'm glad you liked them! I'll keep updating to make everything else as fun as the questions

thank you for playing! also your game was sick, peak artefact time

Submitted(+1)

Very interesting idea for a game! I enjoyed all the weird questions and watching how the lives would play out

Developer(+1)

thank you ! your comment made me happy, I'll keep updating the game so that it's more fun to search for different outcomes.

Thank you for playing!

Submitted(+1)

Pretty fun game! Loved seeing l the different lives I've lived and the ways I died. Not to brag, but I started off as a clown with lots and lots of friends.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

I'm overjoyed to hear praise from such a well-known clown! I'll keep updating the game so that the rng is a bit more balanced for life-hunting (and death-hunting)

Thank you for playing! Also really enjoyed your game, the endings were hilarious

Submitted(+1)

super cool premise for a game, really liked the generated summaries for each life based on your answers to the questions, reminded me a bit of the intro to Fallout New Vegas. The questions themselves were pretty funny and I think you have a very unique start to a game here. One critique is that it was tough to tell how my choices affected the outcome of my life and it often felt like it didn't matter what I chose or that the outcome was random. Cool entry, keep up the good work!!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for letting me know! I'll keep updating the game so that the outcomes become a lot more apparent, and outcome hunting becomes more fun

Thanks a lot for playing!

Interesting game.

Does the UI style seem to be default? I think giving it a suitable style will add a lot of color to your game.

Also, I think a suitable music can make the game more perfect.

Developer(+1)

you're right, I couldn't do much of UI because I ran out of time. I'll keep working on the game, so I'll make sure to add some more animations and art to improve the game

do you have any suggestions for music? any style or instrument that you thought would match the idea? I have a few tracks in mind, but I would still appreciate any suggestions you have

Also really enjoyed your game, the power stealing mechanic is cool

Submitted(+1)

To be honest, I'm not very knowledgeable about music either. In fact, the only thing in my game that wasn't made by me is the music. My approach to selecting music is to try out a large number of music samples and pick one that I think fits.

Developer(+1)

that's fair, and thanks for the tip, I'll try out your approach with a few varied styles. Thanks again, i appreciate all your help!

Submitted(+1)

This is SO COOL I have not seen a single other game submitted that’s like this. I love

Developer

THANK YOU I'm so happy you liked it , I'll keep updating the game so that it becomes more complete

Also your game is peak, the narrative was paced super well

Submitted(+1)

Its a really interesting game, would like to see more, I should note one time when I hit turn page, it overflowed off screen and I got stuck there because turn page wouldn't send me back

Developer

thanks for letting me know! I'll keep updating the game after the jam, so I'll make sure to fix that.

Thank you for playing!

Submitted(+1)

I thought this was interesting but felt it was a shame there were no additional choices while living a life. Fun little sim, good job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for letting me know, I plan to keep updating the game after the jam, so I'll make sure to add more control of the lives.

Thank you for playing!

This is an interesting idea and game you created. It felt more like a simulation than a game because there wasn't a clear goal, but maybe that's the point. The user is the one deciding what they will become and these decisions will be different for each person. It fits the theme well: judging a life after death and having a new opportunity in the next. I understand how tough a game jam can be as a solo developer so good job! (we had 5 people and barely completed our game)

Developer (1 edit)

yes, the idea was to have a gameplay loop of exploring multiple life activities or "opportunities" through countless deaths and rebirths, but i ran out of time to make the actual graphics more intuitive.
I'm planning to continue updating after the jam to fix it.

Thanks a lot for your encouragement, it stops me from feeling too disappointed about dropping the ball on this one

Also I really enjoyed your game! The style is seriously sick and the puzzles were balanced, it was really fun

Submitted(+1)

This is a really interesting, it is bare at the moment but you have a lot of potential with it, are you going to continue it after the rating period is over?

Developer(+1)

thanks! yes, i plan to keep updating once the jam is over
more specifically, i want to make the experience more intuitive and more catered to speedrunning and achievement-hunting

thank you for playing my game!

Submitted(+1)

Really like the cryptic vibe of the courtroom. Liked all the references I saw. Could see this being expanded more, cause its really interesting. Good job!!

Developer

Thank you for your feedback! This is my first game jam so its really encouraging. Thank you for playing!

I also really enjoyed your game, super clean gameplay

Submitted(+1)

Really interesting game. The writing is very cool, and I like the concept. Just a bit confused about what’s happening lol! Really liked it!

Developer

thanks for letting me know! I had intended to make the UI a bit more graphical and add more "explanation" features but ran out of time. Hopefully it'll be a bit better after a few updates.

Thank you for playing, and thank you for your encouragement!

Submitted(+1)

Played on Chrome just fine. I liked the writing and the concept, but I didn't quite understand what happened when I hit "let go" and it brought me back to title. Nice work and congrats on completing and submitting!

Developer

thanks for letting me know! i meant to have a pop-up that asked "are you sure? all data for this soul will be cleared" which would probablu have made that button's use more apparent, but ran out of time. I'll be adding it once the jam is over though.

And thank you for playing! I loved your game, the vibes were sick throughout
