Good job, good vibes! You've captured the classic feel of these types of games well.

I liked the small touches like the intro blast-off cutscene and the elastic way the enemies enter!

After the voting ends and the game jam is over I will upload a version that fixes the resolution issues

Yes the sprite had a nice attack animation and I wanted to use it even as you say it's a bit unclear.

Thanks for noticing the cooldown! Even with it the hitbox is still a little off. It's a full circle so it occasionally deflects bullets that are already past you. Lots of room for improvement!

I never thought about having a second phase for the boss, will keep that in mind for future games.

Appreciate the comments thanks for playing!

Hey thanks! I considered having the deflected bullets damage the enemy but I didn't want to mess with what I had planned out. Perhaps in the future

Thanks for commenting. The deflect was going to be one of 3 abilities but as you know, you have to cut back to hit the deadline!

Thank you!

I've looked into the resolution issues and it's exactly as you said, stretch mode was set to disabled. One click to change it to viewport would have fixed it looks like. I worked hard to make sure there were little to no bugs, but missed this. What a shame!

Making a game for this jam was supposed to be a learning experience so at least I've learned for next time

Thanks!

Sorry I turned resizable off in the project settings and never looked back. Lesson learned!

Hey there! These tracks are great, I bought and used a few of these in the game jam game I just submitted

Hey folks!

Please check out my wee game:  https://luminar-games.itch.io/the-wizard

My goal was to create something simple but make it a full experience (and get it submitted on time)

It's very short and a little challenging. The deflect mechanic is a bit janky but I'm happy with how it turned out for my first submission
