This game is beautiful! The art is stunning, all the sounds, it looks like the background has a slight parallax, and the game is just as fun to play as well! On my first attempt I accidentally got myself locked near the "2 torches" because I was experimenting to see if anything else happens, oops!
Oh no! We thought we'd disabled the trapdoor once the puzzle was complete, so messing with the torches shouldn't have closed it again. Sorry that happened to you, lol!
Thank you so much for playing!
Impressive! Also hilarious. Sorry you got stuck! But I can’t lie and say I didn’t have a giggle :) We’ll defo have to fix that!
Love the game idea the mechanics of the ghost too
the art style is very beutifule and the music calming
Thank you!
the art style really hooked me to play more, and the music is just AMAZINNNGG also the gameplay is def beginner friendly love iitttt
Thank you! We definitely wanted it as more of a tutorial level, so glad that came through!
Cool Hollow Knight like art style and simple yet fun puzzles. The platforming felt smooth, but I just couldn't see those spikes in time. Ran many times into them accidentally. Overall really impressive puzzle platformer. Kudos!
Agree, some of our playtest feedback was about those spikes but unfortunately it was too late by that point to make any major changes - we tried tinting them orange to help (they were originally green like the rest of the environment) but it definitely needs some further work to be more noticable. Thank you for playing anyway!
A very cool game! First of all the art is super nice, the ghoast is super cute and the dance at the end when you beat the game is adorable! Movement is pretty good and I appreciate that you put coyote time in! The level is very nicely built and has a great vibe, I'm assuming you took a lot of inspiration from hollow knight and silksong. I do like the concept of the ghost part and I really like how the music changes and fog appears! I was thinking though, if you were to remove the ghost part of the game you'd essentially just have the same game but with less runbacks, I think it could be altered a bit or just have situations where it isn't just an obstacle that you can't jump over and have to die to unlock, one idea would be what if you as a human (goat) have to stand on a pressure plate that unlocks a path for 10-15 seconds, that you can only go through as a ghost and have to activate a lever at the end to allow the human (goat) to progress. More situations like this would explore the ghost mechanic without being just a runback. The game is still super fun though, excellent work!
Thank you for the very detailed feedback! The Hollow Knight/Silksong inspiration was actually an accident - we realised about halfway through the jam that it was starting to shape up that way, haha.
I absolutely agree about the additional challenges - if we weren't so constrained by time, we would absolutely add more puzzles in that involved interaction between the alive goat and the ghoast. We had a different final room planned but ultimately ran out of time, and it ended up being repeats of the previous puzzles, just configured a little differently! I love your idea of having the goat open a passageway for a limited time - definitely inspiration we can take if we continue development of this :)
Thanks again!
Great gameplay, audio, and visuals.
Thank you!
Nice work!
Thanks!
The sheep looks so cute, and the game is absolutely beautiful! Great work.
Feel free to check out mine too!
Thank you!
Very cute! Almost made it to the end and a rock I hadn't moved enough did me in. :/ Oh well. Loved it anyway!
Oh no! Sorry about that! Thank you for playing <3
Yessss, this is absolutely awesome! The art style and the concept. Loved the idea of having to die to progress. Love it! Very skilled dev!
Thank you for playing!
Super cute game!! Really fun concept, too! I do just wish there were permanent checkpoints so you don't have to completely start over if you run out of lives (but maybe I'm just bad at these kinda games HAHA). Love the vibe, though, and well-executed !
I think that's fair feedback! Thank you for playing :)
Very creative take on a puzzle platformer! I also missed one orb (the one by the light shafts 2/3 through) but replayed it to get the ending and see all the pretty art again :)
Thank you! Great to hear you enjoyed it enough to replay, but sorry you missed it first time around haha.
Cute game! Impressed by the amount of art, the parallax layers and floating particles all look really good, especially with a map this size. I enjoyed most of the puzzles, but a couple (acid pit in particular) had pretty long runbacks after each death/step. Finding ways I needed to kill myself was super fun too!
Thank you for playing! Yeah, we could probably add an extra checkpoint in the middle there to help with the backtracking haha.
awesome visuals B)
Thank you!
Straight 5s from me. Great visuals, great sound design, good mechanic simple and fun.
Amazing! Thank you so much!
I saw the screens on Discord and was looking forward to it.
Graphics are spot-on. Rich, detailed and consistent. I really like the platforming controls, they're snappy and responsive.
I did get soft-locked at the end, got to the treasure door but I must have missed an orb, and backtracking didn't help.
Overall good game, well done!
Thank you very much! I think the orb that's easiest to miss is in the sun-rays near the torch puzzle - it's tricky to see when you're alive, but becomes more obvious as a ghost, however there's no *real* reason to go down that end as a ghost. Something we can think on how to fix!
I found the spikes a bit hard to see sometimes and the heart system a little punishing sometimes (I got confused at the end, because the gate didn’t open and I thought I missed something, so I tried dying to float around. What I didn’t realize was that I only had one life left (that’s more my own fault though), so I had to restart). Other than those two minor things, it was good fun and I really liked the art :D
Thank you for playing! I definitely think we've learned a lot regarding the hearts/lives system so moving forward that's something we can consider changing around.
very well done! i am so bad at platformers though, so i wasn't able to get far at all
No worries, I’m terrible at platformers too so I get it!! :)
This is absolutely beautiful!! The little goat guy is so cute! And the name is genius! Definitely saving this game for later- it's quite relaxing to play :)
Thank you very much!
