Hey hey, thanks to everyone who played this game and rated us. We got #8! While that definitely isn't the top 5 bracket I was aiming for, I'm satisfied with what we did. I do admit I didn't give it my all, and that's... ah, a learning experience. I also made a few mistakes with game design that in foresight I shouldn't have... and nod nod, that's about all I want to say. Unlike my previous experience with Brackeys', I learnt QUITE a lot of new things in this jam!! I'll be making a lot better games from this point out.

Thanks to everyone who played this game again!

Awesome work, this art is amazing!  And full voice acting to boot.  It took a round to make sense of the dice but it felt powerful to get good matchups and draft stronger odds!  Things scaled well between rounds but I did one shot a few bosses with a little luck.  Lots of fun to play and watch, great great job!

main menu woo!! also no my poor cat :( haha this game was super awesome looking, the visual style is pretty busy but very interesting. I love some good hand drawn assets for any game but I think it works surprisingly well for this genre. The voice acting and music were also so awesome, and made the battles feel really epic and polished. I haven't really played any games with dice battler mechanics like this so I wasn't very good, but cool game nonetheless! Great work!

Very cool UI and characters. Good dice mechanic and interesting

This was super fun!  The art, and especially the angel of mercy looked so freaking cool!  This is absolutely the kind of game I could get sucked into.  I couldn't help but imagine a more complete version where you got to fully customize your deck of dice and more of the abilities worked.

I think the only thing that at times irked me was the dialogue that would appear when losing a clash as it just felt like the pacing would drop, especially when you see it more than once.  But honestly after the first few fights I was pretty unstoppable and stopped even seeing those so it's hardly a negative lol. Would definitely love to see this one fleshed out post jam!

blame my incompetence as programmer and the 4.5 day programming crunch aaaha, the original system was intended to only play the dialogues once but i couldn't for the life of me be bothered when an entire other game system needed to be glued together, also the dice all have a hidden stat called Variance that determines how much they can scale up when used (dice are supposed to "level up" after use), the problem was that I gave the player too many good dice to start off (Slash in particular has a very strong Variance of 3, another die, Seven Heavens' Strike has a Variance of 7, and you can probably solo the game with it)

I have a few ideas where I can take this game, but it'll probably be with a smaller team, I'm rather burnt out with managing a team of seven and the mental toll it has taken on me alongside programming everything has been kinda massive, great comments like these keep me going though, ah-hah

Let's just blame the deadline haha.  I sure gave up on removing the messages about Alice being well rested after she spawns into Dreamland after all :P

And yes the variance was a cool aspect!  Felt like good compensation for the enemy health pool increasing as yours stays static.  Though yeah maybe some of them end up a bit too strong.  Nothing wrong with a good power fantasy considering the context however! I can't imagine managing a seven person team either but I'd say you all earned a break haha. Especially that artist! (I'm not at all biased in this department :P )

wow I was picking on Monarch in discord but I never actually commented on this one, (i did rate it though!)

Anyway, I dunno what this game is about, its probably bad. (jk)

I had fun with this, and have played it a couple times so far. I enjoy the dice combat, though it might be smarter than me. The visuals are dope.

this is actually one of the highest ratings I've given out of the jam!

This was super cool!!! Were all the sprites drawn traditionally? Looks awesome!
Also so relatable as I put in the name of my cat who passed last year :')
Great voice acting too! Well done all round!

The art was completely hand drawn by Lusk in the 4 days for the Jam, glad you enjoyed it and I hope your cat is having lots of fun in kitty heaven

Visually incredible, with amazing game polish, the fight sequence itself really amazed me, and the story was fun.

Mechanically a very fun "dicebuilder" game, became a lot easier when i realized the right 3 dice are the moves my opponent is going to do haha.

Loved it

That was really good! I don't think I've seen any turn-based battle systems like this before. I liked the art, and the gameplay was really engaging.

Great job!

WHAT A SICK ART STYLE, and the music GO HARDDD, also i really liked the animation and the sound effect, and having your pet's name and included in the story is clever :) even though i struggled a bit at the start once i got it the fun really begun. i would love to see this game become a full game . BEST OF LUCK

This is SLICK. I love the voice acting addition in here, it's always impressive when games during this jam manage to pull that off. The dice battles feel really intense, and the polish of making the camera shake and darkening the BG on impact does a LOT to aid the intensity. I've seen there be a struggle of sound mixing and design during the jam with some other games, but not this one. The music REALLY adds a lot to these battles, and the voice acting aids the music, etc. It's absolutely an awesome game, I would love to see more of this in the future!

This is what happens when you pull together a team of devs who bring a lot to the table in terms of skillset. For a 4.5 day game this speaks more like a game that's been worked on for well over a year. The game play aspect in and of itself is unique and it's completely amplified by the gorgeous artwork, the sound design, as well as the voice acting. Everyone who worked on this deserves a round of applause for what they managed to accomplish.

Man, this is so cool! I feel as though everything I say is redundant as it's obvious how high the quality of everything is! I really don't have a single bit of criticism, you've nailed every aspect perfectly, gameplay was very fun and quite strategic, audio was great (especially voice acting), art is beautiful, I suppose UI could be a tad batter. But you lot have outdone yourselves, this is superb! The quest for my character "username" to save my cat "sampleText" was an epic journey (the names may have taken away from the drama a little lol). Fantastic work!
