Great stuff here, excellent Sholtis art as ever (Operation Unfathomable was my first osr adventure and remains a solid favourite).

I really liked that the cult has got a schism in the works and that you included your own Appendix N too, top stuff!

Good luck in the jam :)

The art and cover are obviously fantastic, as one would expect of Jason Sholtis.

This definitely has the kind of low-key creepy vibe that a lot of Appendix N stuff has. I would have said CL Moore until I got to your explanatory note.

This would make a great random hex to drop into a map. The player characters could easily ignore the weirdness or go on. This is all strange enough that I suspect most players will want to poke at things.

I would provide at least one more clue that there's something inside the installation, just so players don't assume the answer is somewhere else and wander off.

Good stuff.

Yeah, it definitely has a vibe that might remind one of say CL Moore's  "Scarlet Dream." Jason did a great job with the cover illustration as he always does (creatures are his real forte), though having colored a number of his illustrations both for my work and his (like the Op Un Complete DCC cover) his working physically instead of digitally doesn't also make it easy! :D

Seems like a plot out of Star Trek. Very cool. Love the art. Would like some kind of protection for the PCs to keep from being enthralled. I like the added reading material.

Good job.

Developer(+2)

Thanks. The artist made the same Star Trek comparison when I pitched it to him!

Nothing like a good alien device being worshipped by fanatics and creating chaos in a fantasy world to give that Appendix N vibe. Beautiful layout and cover, I really liked the map and the font used. Simple and direct writing. A cool locale to place in any setting.

The paperback cover look really sings.  The manner you treated the assignment demonstrates wisdom and creativity.    Seems very useful out of the box, maybe as something to employ in a low-key planetary romance style hex crawl.  Love the respect paid to deserving Leigh Brackett.  Nice bibliography makes it easy for those not in the know to look 'em up.

Very good compact adventure that excellently captures the jam's them! The initial foreboding of the camp descending into weirdness as they uncover the Wyvern's secret feels very fitting. Characters being enthralled (and still worshiping the statue when the time comes), yet wanting to leave feels like a fun roleplaying challenge to tackle. I feel like a lot can be teased out from the prophet's backstory just in the few sentences describing his chamber; there's a sense of pathetic tragedy there that's really potent.

I also like the wyvern depiction being this big, weird bug. I love a twist on a classic monster.

An interesting take on a wyvern! I love the sword & sorcery vibe! Great cover as well!

The cultist’s “curse” is sooooo cool. Really great stuff here and the isometric map is chefs kiss

The layout is great; it is easy to digest and parse quickly when needed. Your inspirations are excellent, and they carry through into your work, particularly in the visceral nature of your descriptions which perfectly nails the Appendix N feel. The shapeshifter that engulfs a PC's head to suffocate them is a horrifying and evocative image. Amazing work.

Great layout and I like the premise. The addition of a list of inspirations is phenomenal and would have been nice to see in everyone's. That area map is on point. Easy to read usually means easy to the table. Very nice.

Developer(+1)

Thanks I'm not a "layout guy" beyond covers, mostly so this stretched my skills.

Awesome cover with beautiful use of colour and a great font! Clear and easy to read with a solid hook and a fun background to it all. The nicely illustrated map is a really nice addition to. Great job!

Feels like a fantasy episode of the Twilight Zone! Very Appx. N, I love that you even included your own inspirations. And the cover art is  soooo good!

Lovely stuff. This is the most Appendix N entry I've read so far. The cover art is excellent, very evocative. I particularly liked how you worked some vocabulary in which wouldn't be out of place in those books ("obdurate"), plus I'm a sucker for science fantasy. The NPC descriptions were solid and focused.

You nailed the vintage scifi vibe you were after and Leigh Brackett is a great starting off place to make an adventure.  I love the map, really sets the scene.  The three factions are nicely differentiated.. somehow I know that I wont be chums with the Prophet!

Rad cover. Love all the art throughout. Very “appendix N” theme and execution. Well done!
