I felt bad that there is no average score, because some teams aimed for all categories, not just one. So I just scrapped the results page and made a table. I agree with "Mark" that "Overall" is questionable, but I still think "Average" is a valuable score, so I decided to share it.
Wow, this is insane! Super cool game!
Insane game, like, wooowie! The art, the music the presentation the gameplay!? This is just an actual game, I love it. Has actual difficulty and everything. It is indeed quite the challenge, actually have to focus a bit it's great. You guys even got a level creator in there! Keep up the good work this game was amazing. I'll have to try and beat the rest later for sure!
This game!! This game is amaaazing! By far my favorite game this jam. You have no idea how much I've missed rhythm games. But this one is easily my one of my favorites. Please please please make this a full game. The potential here is crazy. What a cool concept!
That means so much to hear. Thank you :) Hopefully we'll get to work on it more. We're currently working on bringing last year's game to reality, but it seems like this one is well loved.
So cool! Executed the theme very well. Pretty hard too.
Really clean way to execute this style of game! Love this interpretation of loop, really stands out
such a cool concept!! feels super polished (the fact that you have a level editor for a jam game is insane) and everything feels very cohesive in terms of theming and aesthetic. great work!
Thank you! The level editor was actually completely necessary for us internally because we had 3 musicians and not all of them were programmers or Godot users, while our two programmers were not the most musically inclined. It allowed our musicians to do both music creation and level creation at the same time. We decided to package it alongside the game since it works and maybe people will make some levels!
insanely cool idea here and it's executed so well! I hope I see this in the video
I'm honestly too bad too bad at this game to make it trough a lot of these levels, but the mechanics shine clear pretty fast
Really cool concept and the perfect gameplay to trick players into making a song before they realize it.
The beat eaters adding even more rythem game elements to it makes it very frrantic but also satisfying to nail the beat.
The theming is a lot of fun, and the level/track editor is a really cool addition for a gamejam
One of my favorite entries in this gamejam. Was really amazed that each map had its own music and gameplay designed around it, done within a gamejam limit 😮Played all the maps. I found 6_techno_machine the most difficult, I think I lost like 7-10 times before finally completing it (really satisfying to finish that one) and I think it trained me up enough to get past the final stage on 1st try. Amazing work on this, I really hope more people will play this, will definitely be recommending this to friends.
If expanded on past the gamejam, I think I struggled the most with the blue and greens. Sometimes in the chaos, it got difficult to tell which one in a split second so differentiating those 2 more would be great.
Thanks so much for your kind words :) I also find techno machine to be the most difficult. The designer of that level swears he beat it, but I'm not sure I trust him...
Blue and greens are not well differentiated unfortunately. We even had already color shifted them during the jam for this reason, but it doesn't seem like it was enough haha.
This game is sweeeeet. One of my favorites from the jam. Fantastic work!
This game actually rocks, wow, the levels are so fun... I felt so cool, seeing the pattern turn into a beat that actually sounds really good. Very impressed, level editor to boot...!
Super interesting game! I thought about making a beat loop rhythm game, but I think I would have felt pretty inadequate next to thing banger. The inclusion of the big demons you have to click space bar on is great. Whenever I had to remove beats, it felt pretty difficult to tell how to modify my beat loop in time. Maybe something like drag to toggle multiple on at once would help?
We were finding that to be the case as we got later in development, I think it's easy enough to spot added beats, but it's really difficult to see when you have stuff turned on that doesn't need to me. Click and drag came up as an option on our last day, but we were scared to break critical systems so close to deadline haha
Very cool game! I really like the art style and the added chaos of having to edit the beat mid level. I've played quite a few beat making games so far this jam and this one is one of the best, great job!
Great idea, beat + Galaga
This was literally exactly how we described it during brainstorming lol!
Using sounds and music that work with the gameplay is always fun to me, nice work !
Really original idea and it looks and sounds really good!
I find it too difficult but maybe that is just skill isue :S
Yeah balancing difficulty is always hard in the jam environment. You get so used to playing your own game.
This game feels and looks amazing. I really love the whole sound design. The controls using the mouse are a bit fiddly. I’d love to match this to my RGB keyboard and play it that way. Other than that, really enjoyed it!
Yeah we really wanted to get it working with a keyboard, but unfortunately there's only 4 rows of keys, and we really wanted 5 rows for interesting compositions. I think it's one of those things where we got really good at it during development and didn't notice haha. Always hard to catch that!
Tried to lay down some sick beats, didn't quite succeed though. Will return to this :D
Interesting idea, was a little hard to follow
