This game is a bit difficult to get the hang of, but I still enjoyed it!
It felt like I was playing through a narrative Rube Goldberg machine! The game looked nice, and the slide of the ball on the ramps was oddly satisfying.
This was a great game experience, and I would like to play more of it. The movement of the marble feels really great. The world looks really nice. I like the red lines indicating the direction where I have to go. :)
Lil lack luster on the theme. The world being a loop is only really told to the player, and not letting the player experience it. Narrative felt a bit forced into the game, as if it's there just to fill in that checkmark. Otherwise feels good to roll around as a ball. But with no friction and lackluster boost it felt a bit awkward.
Very well polished, I especially liked the 2d visual effects of boosting and the sound of rolling around. And the controls are quite intuitive for this kind of game, too
Despite looking like quite a difficult game to manoeuvre around the thin platforms, and the jumps and ramps etc, the controls are really well tuned and give the player plenty of control over their player, which makes these difficult sections very intuitive and satisfying. I particularly liked how the wind-up into the speed boost felt, it gave the move a lot of impact and also feeds into to the sense of control. And bonus points for the very satisfying squishing animations.
Very neat concept! I have not seen a lot of physics based games in this jam, and yours is a great approach. Quite hard, but with a nice synth-soundtrack and very satisfying marble-sounds while trying to navigate through the world! Great Job! :)
I super wanted to play this but it kept crashing my browser :( Mad points for the art style though, very Mirror's Edge which is an automatic W in my book. The music was nice, I just wish I could have gotten the game to stay loaded. Probably not your fault! The newton's cradle level looks interesting. Hope I can play it after a fix!
Oh no! That's a shame, which browser are you in? And you're saying this happens after the start of the game?
I tried in latest chrome and firefox. It might be my PC but I'm not sure. After I clicked the start game button the game just hangs and never loads in.
Ah okay! Try again for me, if you would be so kind, and just wait like a full minute. Sometimes it's slower than others but there's a big initial loading time on the browser build from the shader caching.
I will give it another shot this afternoon!
So hard! So hard! It’s tough, but I keep coming back for another try!
I think I played for about 10 minutes and got 2 bags in total. That first puzzle was too hard for me and so I gave up. I'd recommend throwing a lower ball (hah!) for the first puzzles.
It was very pretty and I've played marble games before so I was hoping that it would work out, but eventually I got too frustrated.
Understandable, thanks for giving a shot and for the feedback!
Damn! This was awesome. I def spent way too much time just rolling around and enjoying the ball physics! Very fun interactions, I could imagine a full version of this game being very fun to play through.
That's so kind, I'll let you know when it's time to wishlist ;)
Ballkour is GOOD! The ball physics are godly, theres even squash and stretch in there! W game, keep up the amazing work guys!
Such an impressive game 0_0
The movement feels really fluid and responsive! It was quite nice to play. Abusing the boost to climb up things was neat too. The game definitely should’ve had a short cutscene or some such zooming into the world because I didn’t realize we were on a loop till I looked at the screenshots.
Yeah ya know it's funny, I've heard a few people say they never noticed the loop. One of those things where it seems so obvious as the dev haha.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Really cool game ! Had fun :)
Really cool game, I liked the graphics, nice sound design and movement
Really like your selective use of colors to show importance or changing of zones. Nice work!
Really fun precision platformer! The charged boost mechanic feels great once you get the hang of it, and movement is super satisfying.
Very cool game! Main mechanic, sfx and level design are really enjoyable, only wish the ball would charge up faster. Also every time I finished talking to the npc I got launched in the air, was that intentional?
Yessir, working as intended. Thanks for the feedback!
A really interesting narrative - "ballthiritis" and the quit button made me chuckle. Well done!
Every time someone clicks that quit button I get a day added back onto my life
