i love the 3D 2D combination! The cat looks just like my real cat so this made it more fun haha I would have liked it we could reject an item drop and keep our current one :)

Developer

Just press E! Thank you for playing.

Really cute game, which I loved! :)

Cool concept, I liked it!

The only feedback is that I would like to be able to move diagonally as well (like multiple inputs).

Apart from that, it is a well executed game!

Good job! :D

Developer(+1)

The diagonal has been mentioned by many! We will try to fix it.

Thanks~

I like your gameplay it fun to play and with upgrade system.

If possible, can you please rate my game and leave a comment too?

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

sure, let me enjoy it

The movement of the player felt kinda slow... Also, being able to move diagonally would've been nice. The art looked pretty nice, and the music was nice too. But adding some sound effects would've made the experience much better. I liked the screen shake when you hit an enemy, but adding some particles would sell the effect even more. Overall, lots of room for improvement!

Thanks feed back bro

An interesting structure to gameplay I think mainly let down by not understanding why I should be fighting. It wasn't like we were collecting resources to buy upgrades - all it was is trying to avoid losing health. Once I had a strategy worked out there was pretty much no challenge to it and the allure of different items was diminished by the challenge purely being in acquiring them. I think there is something to mine here on the presentation and core loop - keeping in mind that the pivot axis of the circle needs to be fixed.

Developer

I think what you mean is to move while keeping the center point unchanged... Yes, it's worth considering!

Love the artstyle and take on the loop theme! I saw your post from the GMTK discord and I hope you have the time to check out my game too!

Developer

Sure!

The circular map of the game is rather unique,  the switching between level battles and the pace of level-ups is also smooth. However, the control and combat feel still need more refinement. But the cat is very cool, and i hoped that the design of the circular map can continue to expand!

Developer

The replacement of the islands, yes.

We need to strengthen our learning of Unity3D Lol..

Thanks feed back!

Very cute:) I'm not sure how to not accept a weapon from a chest (if space is accept, what's refuse?)

I think the first thing to add would be sound effects when attacking and when you or the enemy get hit.
Good concept, good game!

Developer (1 edit)

Pressing 'E' again will close the treasure chest, we are sorry we did not mention that.

Of course! We just haven't figured out what material these monsters will be yet...

Maybe 'oops' will be ok?

This was surprisingly fun! We got the hammer and did our best to group up the mobs together and then unleash massive damage. I think some variety in music would have been interesting, as well as some sense of progress: are the waves unending? Do they get harder?

The implementation with the loop theme was also good: it made for some good strategies as you tried to go back and forward to either group mobs or isolate them, depending on what weapon you had.

Developer

Thanks for feed back!

It is right to give different levels of difficulty.

Submitted(+1)

this was alright, I think the idea is solid and the gameplay is okay. The art works and while I wish there were sound effects the music is still pretty good. I feel like the game just lacks polish in a lot of places mainly with the movement but I mean it is a jam so this is still impressive for the time frame.

The 2 biggest things I would focus on improving is the player movement (just quality of life things like strafing instead of pressing up then pressing left or right) and more enemy variety (to have weapons feel more unique as for example the staff could hit certain types of enemies for more damage, also to just provide more of a challenge as the game goes on)

Thank you for your comment!

I think the game is cool concept, Some things I want to recommend/ask. First of all I don't think in this case the player felt like it fit into the world it was given, Also It might have been better if you incorporated the game into the start screen so its not a white screen with some semi-black text. Other than that I love the cat art! Keep on making😁

Developer(+1)

Creation is enjoyment, isn't it?

also i wanted to say meow meow meow meow

A lot of unique ideas here actually! Movement took me a moment to get but I really think there is room for interesting stuff with it, having to dodge, let's just say a car that drives around in a circle on the map so you have to go move out of it's path, there could be some really cool and unique ways of combat. Acquiring items is also a really cool concept, reminds me of the hunger games, maybe there could be like a maze island where you have to navigate correctly to the center to get a really good item. At the moment the different weapons are not that interesting as for every weapon you just spam attack and win but of course within the jam time frame it's fine, really cool ideas here, great work!

Interesting choice of 2d characters + 3d. I think its cool but would also be cool just to maybe get a pixel art shader for the background. And sometimes because its 2d its bit harder to aim. I love the cat protagonist abs adorable!!! And I think you guys def leaned into like the cat army vibes which is super cute.

Developer

It's okay, I will translate it into English for you lol

The sense of dizziness in 3D games is indeed difficult for some people to accept.

Thank you like it

Very simplistic with a cool idea! I love it

Developer

Your idea cool too !

Submitted(+1)

I like the idea behind it! That map being a 3D loop with 2D art seems interesting, though in the current state there really isnt any real reason to interact with the loop. The best strategy I found was to stand still and turn left and right to attack the melee ranged enemies. So maybe making it to where you get rewarded for how far around the loop you get on each wave, or tie the waves to completing a loop, or something of that nature. Also making the game harder would help the gameplay a fair bit. I would also map the pause menu to the 'ESC' key as well instead of only having it be a on-screen button lol

But still, I probably played for a good 25-30 minutes so the gameplay is definitely entertaining! It just needs a bit more polish and progression!

Developer(+1)

Yes, using ESC to pause is a common habit... This is our first time learning to create this kind of 2.5D effect, so we apologize if operations like attacking feel a bit awkward.

Thank you for playing and feed back!

Good Game!  Really liked the idea of a loop like that! Good art, liked the 3d more! Sound and audio is good also! But I got some sort of headache when trying to move, as someone else pointed out, going diagonal. And anyway, even on the loop you fight with people in, I experienced some headache by looking at it lol. And shaking cam when you hit monster also makes such feeling, sorry if unsure about how to fix it.  And for a good feedback, there are some suggestion, that I think you thought about but maybe didn't have time to implement:

  •  3d characters are also good, 2d kinda doesn't fit
  • Smarter and different types of enemies, of course you had the healthier ones (healer, archer)
  • As someone else has said before, upgrade of weapons after getting the same on twice
  • Including a sky
  • Damage numbers
  • Attack hit sounds etc.

I understand you didn't have time to make these or think of! These are only suggestions. Great game, good job buddy!

Developer(+1)

wow thanks for advise!

Submitted (1 edit)

You're welcome! It's the only way to help a game dev!

P.S: I think I should've played more, I didn't see the guys with a hammer, and also a score number to compare to other people would be nice!

Submitted(+1)

Nice combination of 3D and 2D.. Cute little cat, I think I know the asset lol. Movement feels a bit weird because you can't go diagonally, e.g., having vertical and horizontal axis work at the same time. Idk, but I was only getting staff from the chests, so maybe it would be a nice idea to evolve a weapon if you hit the similar one. Also, walking through the rocks on the chest platform may cause you to get stuck, and there is not enough time to recover and pick up loot.

Developer

Yes, the treasure hunt time in the middle was a bit short! Thank you for your suggestion!
