very cute aesthetic, with the ocean in space, love the colour scheme, and when I got a combo for the first time, it felt really good! kinda wish the trail was a brighter colour though.

Your game had a ton of game feel. The player controller struck a really good balance between control and chaos . The slow down effect after you loop many enemies was very satisfying and gave you a moment to breath. I do wish it was a little faster though for replays. also I wish for the multiplier it always counted the highest point enemies last because it would add extra strategy of nabbing lower point enemies along with a star to get higher multiplier. Art was nice, the little guy reminded me of Splatoon. Congrats on submitting!
Thank you very much, love the kind words and good feedback. Appreciate what you say about the balance between skill and chaos, that's super kind <3. Glad you like the slowdown too!
One thing I really love about Balatro, which was the inspiration behind the score system, is that you can customise how long things take. Sounds like we should do the same, thx!
Also, we designed it so it counts up the total points and multipliers separately before applying them to each other, exactly for that strategy. So it doesn't matter the order in which enemies are killed within a single loop. Even made the big fish have different physics so the player can separate them, to get them down to one shot too, for a big mult. I managed to score over 10k in one loop, thanks to having an army of 1hp fish before looping a few stars and a beam-shooting clam enemy.
Wow, it's stunning! I absolutely loved the music and art. It's so pretty to look at, and the music fit the mood perfectly! I loved the gameplay too, such a cool design and nice way to interpret the theme! Wonderful job, probably one of my top ones on my list from this game jam!
(I wish I could be so talented with art omg xd)
Juice and Music are just PERFECT !
The slow motion when calculating the score works so well, it really motivates me to go for the best move :)
I really like how you have to anticipate the movement of the enemies instead of just mindlessly circling them! Very smart design choice
We made similar games! Yours is a much more polished, realized version of the idea though lol. Very fun and a really cool style/vibe. I like that you describe it as Pokemon Ranger-esque (I was thinking Pokemon Ranger/LibbleRabble when making mine haha).
Really cute art, and gameplay felt smooth. I felt like it was a bit tough as I tended to die pretty quickly (I think maybe the trail lagged behind my mouse position a bit?) but this was a great concept and it felt well executed. :)
Cheers Cannice, appreciate you having the play and leaving the praise. It was a deliberate choice to have the character constantly try to catch up to the cursor, but perhaps we should speed it up a bit. I wonder if the fact that the entire game world is moving might be unevenly distributing the lag depending on the direction you move in. Do you feel like it lagged more in an uncomfortable way moving up than it did going from side to side or downwards? No pressure to get back with clarification, of course, you'd be busy with all of the games!
Cheers C:3
hey COZI! I didn’t notice an issue specifically with side to side or up and down. Usually it felt really good to start, but the longer/faster I had been holding the mouse button down and continuously looping, the harder it felt to control, probably just because my cursor was decently ahead of the lil guy. If i just stopped for a sec to let him catch up and continued it was all g, but sometimes in doing that I got hit lol.
I don't how the game slows down when I make a Loop. It should speed up actually
Could you clarify what you mean by that a bit? We do give the player a slight speed boost after making a loop, with the duration dictated by the combo size, to help chain loops together. We wanted to have the slow down effect to make the combo system more impactful.
Really appreciate you taking the time to leave your feedback! Thanks for playing <3
The game's really nice and fun and polished and cute and i love it and i think it would make a great minigame. But I am so jealous of your team, none of my friends wanted to join with me, damn you rollo the hero!! o(〒﹏〒)o
This game feels good and polished and the visuals are appealing. It reminded me of playing slither.io back in the day! Nice work!
A fun little hypercasual with cute visuals, I liked it.
Keep up the good work!
Nice looking and sounding game!
Spent some time polishing my skills in it but the level of accuracy shown on the second gif is unreachable for me ;)
