This is impressive! Cool concept, and a surprisingly detailed game. What stands out is how well you were able to make everything work with the mouse limitation
what a stunningly unique game
The way you have it configured for mouse input only was clever, very complex even with this limiting prerequisite. I loved the art and the vibe of the game, just that sound effect when you bump into stuff is so loud LOL! Great work on this
This one took me a minute to grasp. After talking to the developer on discord and getting the pro strats, it was a lot of fun! I agree with the below comment - I think this game is a solid foundation for what could be a really big and interesting game.
(:
Perhaps it was just me, but it took me a while to figure out how to actually collect and sell trash. I spent several minutes trying to hold on to trash while backing into the station before I realized that I needed to buy the storage unit. Equipping it by default or showing the user a more prominent prompt to buy it would be much clearer.
Once I figured out what to do, I enjoyed it! The presentation is great. I would have liked if the concept was developed further, but I know that with the time constraints of a short jam like this, you can't add everything.
I understand that the prerequisite may have been hard to work around, but I felt like the controls weren't the best. Moving the mouse back and forth between thrust and direction while trying to collect trash at the same time was tedious. Mapping the scroll wheel to thrust instead of FOV might have made it much easier to control.
The sound volumes need to be adjusted. I had to turn my volume extremely high in order to hear the ambience. Little did I know that the collision sound would be at a much higher volume. I was using headphones, so that was unpleasant to say the least. In addition, the ambience doesn't seem to loop.
The first storage upgrade says that it costs $100 even though it is actually only $50. The same goes for the thrust, durability, and sell multiplier upgrades - they say $100 but each cost $30.
Aside from those comments, I did enjoy playing. Good work!
thank you so much for the feedback i definitely overscoped for this jam and also the audio seems to have been kinda broken by itch in the debug window it seemed to be completely normal but in itch its all over the place
I enjoyed it! I really liked the arm of the ship. I think I messed something up and wasn't able to return to the shop without taking damage/exploding, so that was confusing. Overall the concept is great. Best of luck to you!
Awesome! I'll admit, it took me a hot minute to realize that you need to adjust the thrust to not immediately explode on launch. Nice arm - do you do IK using the FABRIK algorithm, or something else?
honestly I kinda just made my own thing (with the heavy help of chat gpt) because any sort of IK that i could find would take way too long to figure out especially for a game jam
i think godot should really add IK they have it for 3d
This game is cool! I love the idea of how it works, but it's a bit too slow overall in the beginning and I feel there are some fixes that can really make it shine! For example, I personally don't think the FOV is needed, as I had it at max the whole time - find a level that works for your game and keep it at that so you can remove the FOV and reduce clutter.
I would love an emergency stop button, i found myself fighting the controls to get where I needed to go, and since debris sold for so little, by the time I had enough funds to upgrade and keep exploring, I felt I had seen what the game had to offer. Making us a bit faster, starting us with a basic 3 slot storage instead of having to buy it and tinkering with the UI controls will help here!
Overall, a cool little game!
thank you very much
honestly i didnt give the game much playtest time so i just kinda set the prices to what felt ok
upgrading the buy multiplier is a very good but honestly originally it was supposed to be a lazer upgrade and there was supposed to be aliens but i ran out of time
Really fun, and the presentation is spot on!
love the graphics and presentation, though i guess the ui is too complex for my small brain and i couldn't really figure out how it works :'D
thank you very much
i do have to say the ui isnt actually that complicated imo just cluttered
Great gameplay, graphics, and sounds, but it lacks even a minimal soundtrack. The multipliers and prices are crazy, but that's cool, I liked it more than slow leveling up like in most games.
yeah the prices and multiplyer are like completely random i just never changed them
