Nope - I've completed at least one game jam before.

How does your game fit the theme?
Marble Momentum is a puzzle physics game. You just need to get started by rolling the marble. If you setup things correctly, everything will just fall into the right place. You just need to get started, success will follow.

Simple but satisfying puzzle game, could easily see this being expanded into a larger game!

My #1 wishlist would be to add the ability to pan and zoom the camera to get a better view of the layout

Right now it kind of feels like you have to do one blind run, then another proper run for each puzzle

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I will consider the suggestions.

That was a very fun and simple puzzle game! The music and sound effects are very well done and really made me immersed in the game. I can definitely see the game expanding to have more complex levels, but for the length of a game jam, there was actually a lot of content and different mechanics. Great work!

Developer

Thanks!

Overall great game. It didn't really need a how to I was good to go. This is a great game and generally it's good to see physics based godot games :). I had a few issues with the camera and some lag issues but generally it was a nice experience.

If you want to polish this more what I think you should do next is make what you can interact with more clear, add panning to the camera, and just basic debugging and optimization. great game, loved it.

Developer(+1)

Thanks!

The lags and maybe some camera issues which people here have told me only occurs in the web build. I ask you to try the win/linux build for a much better experience.

I will keep in mind those points when I start to polish the game after jam.

Glad you enjoyed the game!

Nicely done! Was fairly easy in terms of puzzles but that's understandable considering the jam timeline. Might be worth looking into preloading particle resources when the game first loads to reduce lag at runtime.

I guess it depends on the type of game loop you're aiming for, but I think being able to move the camera before launching the ball could allow you to plan ahead. But if you were going for a more exploratory/reactive experience then I'd say it's fine as is.

I didn't realize you could interact with objects while the ball was moving at first but maybe I didn't read the instructions well enough.

I don't know about having more than one way to solve some of the puzzles (especially when one path is alot easier), it kinda makes it feel pointless for the other path to exist. But again if the exploration type of game loop is what you're going for then might not be so bad, maybe even lean into it more so it's not immediately obvious that one route is the better route.

I had fun though, great job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the detailed analysis! All the levels were experimentation with the mechanics and the last 2 were actual levels I made, after which time ran out. I tried preloading the particles, which didn’t work at the last moment, that is why I recommend you to play the platform build rather than the web one.

I will definately add camera pan, but in a less interactive way, so that it still stays a mystery.

That part needed more work, I agree. What you could interact with after dropping the ball is not the clearest thing.

That last level route gives you another chance if you accidently hit the fan (which Shovel did on stream, but he turned it off immediately, which made the ball stop before reaching the booster), guess I need to work on my level design skills.

Thank you again!

I love the visuals, and the SFX are really satisfying :D Incredible game!

Thanks! Glad you liked it 😁

The 3d view of this game is top notch , having the ball rolling around has an satisfying vibe to it . The art of this is very appealing. Level Design wise , i can understand this may try to be easy so everyone can solve it . More puzzles to ramp up the difficulty in the future will be very nice

Developer

Many thanks! I plan to make more puzzles after the jam. Glad you enjoyed the game

Very good. I love puzzle games like this. Wish it got more difficult but it was extremely fun well done. I did have to restart once because the game crashed.

Developer

Thank you!

A crash? Might have been something random, never experienced that.

Submitted(+1)

presentation is very clean!

The puzzles were a bit on the easier side, but thats perfectly okay

I liked it, left me wanting to play more after I reached the end!

Gratz!

Developer

Thanks!

I could have done more (intermediate to difficult) levels, but time lacked.

I will make more levels after the jam!

Pretty fun puzzle game! Only thing is that sometimes the game froze when the ball interacted with hazards. Overall I had a lot of fun with this game!

Developer

Thanks very much! Actually the game doesnt freeze, it slowed down to 0 when it had too much collision. Its part of the game physics actually. Glad you enjoyed!

Developer

Thank you!

Sure, I will play your game, but I won’t be able to add a comment since itch.io has put some kind of “warning” on me.

Great game! I had a lot of fun solving the puzzles

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Awesome minimalist presentation for a puzzle game, I had some trouble with the camera drifting away but I really enjoyed the gameplay, I think this has potential to be built out even further, I enjoyed it.

Developer

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed. I plan to continue to improve it after the jam

I loved the sounds, and the relaxing music. It was fun going around the puzzle with the ball and trying out all my options!

Developer

Thanks!

Cool game! A bit short, and puzzles could use a bit more variety of choices for the player, but still cool and relaxing!

Developer

Thank you

Way too short. Great game, great concept. I saw this on stream and got it when I played it, the lose of momentum "felt bad". Especially when it hangs on the edge when it felt like it should have been a win.

But overall, just too short. More please.

Developer

Yes, that’s a part of the game. I will add more content after the jam ends. Thanks for playing

Great game, i really enjoyed it it is relaxing.

Developer

Glad you enjoyed. Thanks!

Good game overall. The camera was buggy in the first level (it wont show me the ball when pressed start and it would drag me in the left part of the screen) but it was ok in the next ones. Enjoyed it, very satisfying.

Developer

Hey thanks! I have never experienced such with the camera. Also, I played your game and it was awesome, I have rated but I can’t comment since itch decides to place a “warning” on me every day which disappears after 12 hours or so.

Thank you very much.

Quite the fun puzzle game, well done!  Although some of the later levels felt a bit like trial and error due to the missing camera movement and less like puzzles. Still great job!

Developer

Thank you for the kind words!

Fun and relaxing.

Thanks!
