Arcane Quest was made by me, a 2nd year Computer Science student.

Nice! I appreciate your quest to play quest named games 😂. Time was the only barrier for me in making this one, and it has quite a few bugs. I might work upon this one, let’s see what quest the future holds. The arrows were planned to be controlled via mouse (i.e. change direction while aiming in-place), but somehow it didn’t make to the final game. Enemies are dumb, I agree.

Thanks very much!

Now that’s a nice game! I really like the concept and simple gameplay. Couldn’t reach the end, but it was fun. I don’t see why you need a mouse… trackpad was no problem for me.

Glad I played this one. All the best!

Thanks! If only I can find time to workon this in my student schedule, sure 👍! I will checkout your game too… I thank thee for playing the game!

Nice game with a fun idea! The movement controls were weird, in my opinion, at least. Probably could add a series of events/locks with the codes, but the game was complete from the perspective of the jam, I was able to find just 8 codes, not much! Nice work! I hope you will find my game amazing too!

I personally don’t like these kinds of games, though I still liked the smooth gameplay mechanics, and the art is well polished. The game, overall, is nice. I bet you could add more mechanics to make it engaging!

Try out my game too!

Nice game with the little story! I really liked the map and the ASCII art! A little collection of 8-bit music could have added more depth to the game, but nevertheless, gameplay was nice. Awesome job! Try out my submission too!

Excellent concept! I like how the 3D puzzle plays out, and those volume sliders were a big secret for me (since you aimed for 4 colours so that acceptable).

Absolutely awesome level design and sound design. Loved it Try out my game too!

Liked the arcade mechanics. Movement and shooting mechanics were unmanageable, but OK considering the fact this is your first complete game.

Well Done! Nice game

Liked the gameplay. The diagonal movement of the camera felt too jagged to me (since it’s pixel art, understandable), but either don’t allow diagonals or smooth them out somehow. Didn’t figure out what exactly to do until a reasonable amount of time, but played anyway. The graphics are nice, audio is nice too!

Now, the thing that this was a draft, but was still very complete. I liked the time passing and landscape changing concept.

Checkout my game too!

The player speed and a few bugs have been fixed, you can try the game once more!

The speed and a few bugs have been fixed, you can replay the game!

That’s great! I would love to play again!

Thanks for playing the game! So sad you couldn’t see the ending, those barrels… They are causing collision problems. I might just update the build removing them.

Thanks for the comment!

EDIT: I have updated the game! You can check it out.

The Art was just gorgeous. I love the simple gameplay and story, and I am sure this would better fit a longer version. I don’t know if anyone mentioned or not, I get the feel of playing Professor Layton from this game, the ending was awesome!

Thanks for the feedback! There is only one answer, the lack of time 😝!

I would love to have more games from “creative penguin”. Keep it up!

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed!

Thanks for the comment. I will take care of the things you mentioned the next time!

Thanks a lot!

Liked the game and all the small password collecting theme. Played till the last but got stuck on the Top Secret Password, maybe I am missing something. The music is quite fitting, and I praise the simple look of the desktop. The hints are well crafted!

Nice, overall. Hope you enjoy my submission too!

Nice story and audio. The art style is awesome too! You could give the game a bit more polish and it would be wonderful.

Great work!

Nice game! Gameplay was fun, decoding and passing signals over. Learn the hard way how to not get “Game Over”.

And yes, I got scared the first time game over happened. I absolutely like the morse code part, it is impressive that you let the players do the job.

Well done! Try out my game too!

The art is carefully crafted. I love how the background pages have some kind of development notes drawn, until I carefully observed some of them 😉. The sound effects are perfect, but a fitting bg music could do better. And I was blown away by the leaderboard! You use something called SilentWolf, gotta research. The levels are well-designed, and the secrets are just awesome, especially the last one!

Nice game, congrats!

Thought I would become a rat, but there was a text adventure instead. (Remember, Zelda: Minish Cap). Still, though, it was a nice gameplay too! I love the art and music, they are perfect. The game and the difficulty are fine. You could have added WASD too. The story is very well written

Well done.

The game looks good, but it is quite difficult to get through some of the FOV’s. I tried hiding behind the bush, but guess that doesn’t work. Art and music are well-made and are quite fitting together, but the game is too hard.

Nice game!

This game is the example of true game design. The idea/concept is absolutely brilliant. This is unique. This is just a platformer, but the satisfaction to find all the different endings was just wonderful. The game is polished well, audio is just right and difficulty is perfect.

Outstanding job!

Thanks very much. I appreciate the comment. I will take care of the pointers you gave the next time! All the best!

Huge respects to you. You played it four times, even after getting bugged that bad.

I don’t have a controller, so I can’t test. I used an external dialogue system, and guess it doesn’t have the input maps setup!

I personally never encountered the barrel bug, and that boss room bug is too bad, I have inspected, and it seems it has to do with so many signals that I raise there, maybe godot is not able to handle them, or it’s me?

I was a bit confused as to why when aiming the bow the aiming gets locked This is how I made the bow, direction will lock, and you can only move sideways!

The speed is the biggest drawback, I agree.

You collected 99 coins, though not the 99 I intended 😂.

Thanks a lot!

This game is something different. Calm, cool, true tranquillity. Got all the endings and want to say they were gorgeous! Absolutely Amazing 👏

Not as good as yours, but try out my game too!

You aren’t kidding? I mean, there were several places where double jump was the only way to go !?

Making games is just fun, and the results are …. 😂

Nicely done! So the levels are procedurally generated, there are some cheat codes (I found quite a few, most of them were obvious ones), and interacted with that red monster (was surprised to be honest). The void mechanic is soo good, and the x-ray was much helpful. Finished 00:05:42 with 6 clues. No complaints at all. Great!

For me CTRL+W closed the full-screen window too.

I really liked the art style, sound effects and mechanics. This is a well crafted game right from the start! Good work! Though you could have used another key instead of Ctrl.

You made this in GB Studio? Huge respects! Actually, I heard about GB studio a while ago and wanted to make some games in it myself. I really liked to play a Game Boy game in this jam.

And the story was delicious, superb!

Hey, thanks very much! Player could have had a little bit more speed for sure! I will keep that in mind for the next time

Thanks a lot!

Thanks! Skipping dialogues is bound to Escape key, but I admit it should have been documented. I will keep these in mind the next time.

Got the idea. Brilliant. I thought platforms only disappear, but collision is also turned off. Nice. It was hard to coordinate jumping and trackpad too, but I managed to do it anyway! Really nice concept. Had fun! And thank god you respawn the player at the start of level, not at the start of game!

Try out my game too

Thanks for taking time to play the game

Did you manage to find all 99 coins though?
