If any of you have read Decker's documentation or promotional materials, you've seen my hen Pippi. She's one of Decker's unofficial mascots:
Since I adopted them four years ago, Pippi and her sister Galena have been a source of great comfort and inspiration to me. When I was at the bottom of the deepest pit of depression I have ever experienced, learning to care for them helped me relearn to care for myself as well, and slowly return to my creative projects.
Without them, Decker would not exist today.
I'm sad to announce that a few days ago Pippi suddenly developed an untreatable illness, and today I lost her. I hope that her inclusion in Decker will help preserve some piece of her memory for a long time.
I struggle to put into words what she meant to me, and what she still means to me.
Everyone who knew her loved her, and still loves her.
Goodbye, Pippi-bird. I miss you. We all do.
