Picked up a cargo bike a few weeks ago, in the South Holland countryside. Took photos on the way home.

Happy holidays!!

wow this is so beautifully illustrated and well explained. Amazing!

thanks for the tips - I’ll look at those YouTube videos. I’ve deleted the link from my original post above.

Hi folks! I just found (redacted) while searching for the WigglyPaint deck. There's apparently an iPad app, but the link doesn't w for me. Do you know anything about it?

That site has some great tips for beginners interested in animation. Which makes me wonder: Is anyone using WigglyPaint for animation, and if so, how do you do it? Do you do onion skinning somehow in Decker, to see the frame before?

late to the (birthday) party -- happy birthday Decker!

Loved it! Reminds me of https://www.robinsloan.com/fish/

wow this is really impressive!

RIP Pippi

Absolutely stunning. Loved it. I only heard about cohost when it was closing down, but I've been working at a remote-only org for years, and this year lots of colleagues left (read: downsizing). So your deck really hit me in the feels.

Very impressive. Reminds me of the old web, or even before that (Macromedia Director!)

haha that was actually great fun. Played on my phone. Enjoyed the background music too.

How did you animate the colours on the start screen?

I especially love the little bee that dodges you when you try to click on it - very cute!

so beautiful!

Really impressive Millie. Nice work!

How do you do that syntax highlighting of lil code?

wow well done. This looks super impressive!

nice!

I’d love to know how you did it — Did you use real playdo or modeling clay, or did you 3D software or  draw directly in Decker to get the clay animation look?

wow this is fantastic. Love the design, and really got into the stories. I felt really shitty for having picked make-over for Max.

amazing job—well done! Made me think of the animated interludes in Monty Python films.

I really got into it. Well done! I hope you’re feeling better now.

wow! I came here today to say how impressed I was by your July jam musical decks. This contraption is next-level!

haha that was great fun! Can’t believe it’s all in 500 characters.

Thank you, that worked! And I never knew you can run a command under another shell in a one-off way like that.

I had to grant permission to let lilt-1.19.com run in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Security, and then click an "Open" button in an extra warning dialog about untrusted developers. Now it works without complaint though.

Hi!

I tried running lilt just now and get this error:

% ./lilt-1.19.com

./lilt-1.19.com: line 17: /var/folders/63/43bzdzmd21j6q3mw0xymm1xc0000gn/T//.ape: Bad CPU type in executable

./lilt-1.19.com: line 17: /var/folders/63/43bzdzmd21j6q3mw0xymm1xc0000gn/T//.ape: Undefined error: 0

I'm on a MacBook M1 (i.e. not Intel), running OSX 13.3.1

Ah you're so patient -- thank you!

Here it is now: https://wwwdot.org/1bit-photobooth.html

Mastadon and Facebook appear to be happy with the resulting gif image output, but Twitter complains that the file is invalid.

I left it "unprotected" with the menu and listener and so on available for debugging purposes, but I was thinking of making something basically like this, which I'd then iframe into another webpage with some share buttons, so people can click to share/tweet/etc. and optionally make a cool 1-bit protest image to include in their social media post.

Thank you!

The posterised image works, but I can't get the dithered version to work, and I'm afraid I'm also saving the background behind the canvas for some reason....

See https://wwwdot.org/dither-save-bug.html

The Ornamented Ovum got me thinking of using Decker to make selfies with protest or campaign messages... it was all the rage about 10 years ago. Twibbon is an example.

Is there a way to trigger "open_file('image/*',load_image)" from a button click, so people can import images into a deck which is protected (i.e. menu hidden)? I find the File > Open Image... option is too fiddly for mobile devices, and I think I'd like to hide the menubar anyway.

loved it. heaps of great ideas. Felt a little like Inception at one point.

Haha I love it!

would it be possible to make an image export button? ie to programmatically do menu:File>Export Image…

that was great fun! Made on my iPhone (I can’t edit the text on mobile, but the dragging and buttons works)

loved the cityscape with the blinking lights in the distance. Great job!

thanks for your swift reply!

I may need to override the hyperlink-clicking action for mailto: links. Will let you know how I get on.

Thanks so much for this great tool!

I'd like to add hyperlinks, bolding and italics to text in a field. I've set it to rich text, but cannot figure out how to format the text and add the link. I also cannot figure out how it was done in the Decker guided tour deck's "Fields" card.

Tip: ImageOptim can dramatically reduce the filesize of exported gif images (see https://imageoptim.com/versions.html)

Thank you for Decker! I'm absolutely LOVING it!
