it would be great if you can rate our game too :)
Rate for Rate done ! I actually had fun playing yours, hard tbh!
here check mine, looks like u haven't!
i really like the concept, it will be even better if i could play this game on mobile devices. But i dunno maybe it just me, coz i always died on level 1, maybe make it easier on first stage. But beside that the game, the music and also the controls is feel goo. nice job ;)
Loved the music, kept me calm while I died a million times! The tone and graphic aesthetic you've chosen is really nice and consistent too. I felt the difficult increase could have been a bit more balanced, but still had a good time.
I'm calm and simultaneously stressed out lmao. The music and graphics are delightful. The gameplay requires very precise movements, but I didn't really feel cheated much; maybe just a bit more friction or control would be nice as I felt like I was lacking that sometimes. It could be that my mouse sensitivity is just innately too high- it'd be dope if you could port this to mobile and use a gyro!
How did you end up doing the map rotation with ball bit? Any matrix magics?
No matrix multiplication, but there is a bit of magic. I originally just applied rotation to the floor to get the ball to roll. but I felt that Unity's physics were just a bit too janky. The ball never really felt good. Also, it was completely broken if you moved the platform too fast. My solution to this was to fake the whole thing. The floor doesn't move at all and a force is being applied to the ball with a strength dependent on how far you moved your mouse. Then I just simply tilt everything else so it looks like the floor is what's moving. The holes are also fake. It's really hard to cut holes in a mesh, especially if I want to adjust where the holes are all the time for balance purposes. My solution was to use a shader for the holes and a trigger collider. The ball plays an animation of it falling in when the trigger is entered. Anyways, thanks for playing!
Very calming and fun! Just a bit too hard at some parts. When the holes get blocked with that turqoise color, indicate to the player a bit before they get unblocked again that they get unblocked (e.g. let them blink for 1 second)
I love these types of marble games, and this one has really relaxing music and nice graphics. I think the first level is too difficult for being the first level, and you could make them really simple at first and gradually increase the difficulty of the challenges. I also agree with some other comments that the collision mask of the holes could be smaller, generally it's a good practice to make the obstacles collisions smaller than they appear. Overall, solid work!
Excellent game, maybe too diffiult in some parts but great game overall.
Great job on your game. Love the music. Its kinda too hard cuz the holes are kinda too big but maybe its a game design. Good job.
Love the atmospheric music and the game's fun too. The collision for the hole is a bit too wide though imo.
Nice game! You did a great job but It's a little bit too difficult at first. In general, this game is awesome =)
High Roller has a very nice vibe to it. It's a very relaxing game to get into. That being said, there are some things that I thought break the flow a bit. Like how colliding with a hole, even a little bit, would suck up my ball. I feel like this should be more physics based. I also think your design is too hard on the player, especially near the beginning of the game with the timed mechanics. Because of the volatile nature of the control, these mechanics need more leniency. Not bad though, just needs a few tweaks.
A fun, polished and very HARD game, i love the menu, the theme music is so calm and beautiful, increasing the mass of the ball will make it a lot better i guess, and starting with much easier levels too. I like the first groupe of gems that you don't have to collect, only to increase your score i suggest you make all of the blue ones like that! to be precise in this game is almost impossible since the ball moves too fast! but this can reall turns out to a very beautiful game if only you change small stuff, and oh ! make it so the player respawn always in the check point :) good job tho , i enjoyed playing it.
