Your game has a lot of potentials to develop and polishing but for now, it has good enough gameplay, nice work!
Easy to play, short, and enjoyable! The art is perfect and super crisp, and the sound effects are really well done. The music is groovy and loops pretty well, if a little short--I want to hear more! I loved the additional drift as you lost tires, I thought that was a very clever mechanic. I think you made the level by hand which works, but looking into how to randomly generate the level would be beneficial for multiple playthroughs. I also think having the police car follow you a little more closely would make it more exciting, and maybe give the police a bit of random up-and-down movement instead of following you perfectly. All in all, a really solid submission for your first game!
Those are some great suggestions! Randomizing the police speed with a specified range wouldn't be too hard to achieve, I like that idea! Generating potholes proceduraly I think is a little above my experience level as I just started making games 2 months ago, but I can't put it off forever. Thanks for the feedback!
Yay! I could win it!
Those streets seems like the ones in my neighborhood thou. Haha
Cool game. :)
Nicely done. I just downloaded and played the game several times. I like the groovy 8-bit track and graphics. The bright colors and sprites are well done!
It would be cool if the cop car was closer behind you to increase the tension, and if the potholes only slowed you down temporary. Right now, once you hit a pot hole, it slows you down so much that there isn't much reason to keep going (you might as well restart). If the slowdown was temporary, it would feel like you could have the ability to recover.
Anyway, nice work! I enjoyed playing your game!
I really like the idea of a damaged car but there could be more tires on the track. Good audio and graphics. It's funny how the police car catches up.
wow pretty good!
things i liked:
- The loop of the music was short but at the same time it sounded really good so if you made it really good job! (and if you didn't, nice pick!)
- The fact that the car deviates when you loss a tire is really cool instead of just acting like lifes.
- The graphics are nice too, they are not so complicated but the aesthetic is really nice.
- The use of the theme is original
What could be better:
- Shorter level and/or more tires
I did the last 200m with no tires and it was super intense xd
Really great game!! I have played a couple put hole themed games and honestly they seem to be the best work. the balance of speed and tires was great. The music wasn't annoying to listen to in a loop. Only thing I can even think of recommending is find a way for car engine noise to shift with the beat of the music cause it almost matches it and makes it nice on the ears :)
epiiiiiiiiiic it amaze me <3
good graphics ! and nice game design well done ^^
i rated ur game can u do the same !! and thx <3
not bad, didnt expect that I would lose a wheel touching a pothole and lose alot of control on the first wheel lost.
Looks like our minds went to the same place when the theme was Holes, probably because we both live in the midwest xD Really liked the way that losing tires was reflected on the sprite/movement of the car! Would have been cool to have a bit more variety in the obstacles as you progressed further, but I still really liked it overall!
I had fun playing it . I liked that losing wheels affect the movement of the car . Great job :D
