nice game! i think the characters are cute and i love the ms paint style that you went with and the 2 frame animations. I managed to get through until i died on Jeremy. The gym thing is a little strange since you really just spam until you think you're at a decent level without knowing what any of the numbers mean in relation to the enemies you're fighting. I spammed it until I got a 5 in speed and an 8 in strength and that didn't seem to be quite enough. I think working the leveling up into the actual game rather than a mini game would have been nice.

Also as a side note...I'm not a huge fan of games that talk down to the player, especially when they're the ones giving your game a shot. I get it's probably fun to show your buds, but I couldn't help but not want to play the game at all when I saw the opening start message. Anywho, that's just my opinion. Nice work overall!

Woof, I feel like I actually worked out with all that key spamming! I even considered downloading an auto-keyclicker. Decided against it. Still, I spammed those keys until I was at strength 123 and every boss could be defeated in two hits.

I loved the art style, all the little details of polish that went into it, and the characters I only saw for a second each (because I beat them in one punch usually). The sound and music was great too.

No real complaints here, it's a really good game. Half the fun is in the game, fighting bosses, and the other half is in reality, optimizing spamming techniques to get stronger faster. This was a really well made gameplay loop.

Fit the game-theme very well with the 'fit' angle and the boss-rush was fun, especially after I realized you could double jump.

I do wish there were alternatives to the spam-clicking for training like holding down or a timing variant since the spam-clicking cramped my fingers a bit after a while~

A very good idea.  Would be nice if the gym button pressing at the beginning was more interesting (just spam clicking Z over and over for speed felt pretty boring).  Actual fights were interesting and unique though.

Huh, seems like we had similar ideas. This game has fun art and sounds and I enjoyed the game play of working out and then fighting, losing, working out some more, and then winning. I think this game fit the theme very well.

Really cool game, I wasnt expecting the fighting style and was plesently surprised, the "throwing fist" attack was nice and easy to use and the enemy attack patterns were nice. The only thing I'd say is that I didnt really understand when I could or could not attack, I'm guessing my speed stat was used a a kind of buff on the cooldown of the attack, but I wish I knew when my attack was really, cause ended up spamming, leading to me missing the attack I didnt really know when the fist would spawn or not.

Cool game, those mouth sounds were funny, the concept is goofy and fun.

true i should add a timer or something to at least identify when the cooldown is over. This is a smart idea. Thank you!

This was pretty great. I loved the artstyle and general vibe of the game. At first I thought it was going to be pretty annoying have to re-fight the previous bosses when I lost, but getting to one or two shot them once I got strong enough was actually pretty satisfying, and I think the loop of exercising, seeing how far you can get, then going back to exercising is a good one. On the negative side though, I didn't think the exercising mini-games were particularly fun. Maybe something more engaging like having to hit buttons with timing would have been more fun than just having to mindlessly mash. Also, I wish there was some way to level up your jump. As I got faster it actually made jumping over enemies harder because I had the same low, slow jump but I was moving left to right very quickly.

Overall though, a fantastic entry with lots of personality. Great job!

i think your right, the gym was rushed as the animations and drawings were the main focus of my development. If i were to update the game, updating those minigames would be the first thing i go to.

Thank you for the advice!
