I liked it, it was definitely a much more fun game than default rock paper scissors, but it did suffer from a problem of the default game, that is that I could play at random and had a decent chance of getting good results from it. That was how I played after getting the enemy castle below half health, and it worked out. Still that didn't make the game worse, there's a reason rock paper scissors is a well known game: because it's fun. Great entry.

Thanks!, I did add an Ai that changes their troops to confuse the player, but it kinda defeats the purpose of the whole "strategy or planning" phase, so I scrapped it out last minute of submission, glad you liked it!

Love the relation to the theme and the graphics and sound are fantastic. In regards to gameplay, while I think it's a neat idea, the gameplay itself has a couple of design issues i think. Since it's just rock paper scissors and you already know what your opponent picked, it's just a matter of choosing the right one as fast as you can. Not only that, but if the opponent has a bunch of varied troops, you could spend an entire round fixing up one row only to get one guy to go past. In a way, that makes the strategy of the game to focus on the rows where there are identical troops in a row since you can do the most damage with the minimum amount of changes, though ultimately I'm just not as big a fan of it.

The cards add in a cool twist to gameplay, but ultimately I think the rounds might just be a bit too long, especially in the tutorial when you're just starting to learn how to play. As I mentioned earlier though, the graphics and sound design are amazing and the opening cutscene is wonderful. Great work!

This was cool, the theme of playing a king was an interesting take on  the jam that I appreciated and the art was super quality!

I like the the AI also uses the cards you have though I wish they didn't have access to cards like restarting the attack-round which in their hands felt more like a stall than a tactical choice or even a bump in difficulty.
Still that's a minor gripe for a really solid game!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so Much, and yes, the restart was just really a filler, I ran out of ideas😅

lol, I definitely get that!  And the restart felt really cool as a card for the *player* to be fair!

Very nice job!  The pixel art was very impressive.   I agree with some of the other comments, a tutorial would have been good.  I also burned through my cards really quickly, not realizing the enemy can use them too (which while cool, was a bit frustrating when suddenly they healed 50%, granted since you can as well, probably fair XD )

Developer

Thanks!, I'm not good at giving tutorial so I just slapped it in the page😅, sorry about that.

The paper rock scissors aspect of choosing the characters before the battle was fun, though I couldn't work that quickly. The art, music, and sounds were great.

Developer(+1)

Thanks!, tho you never really need to ace every lane, as a king you have to do some sacrifices you also need to know where you want to attack, just pick one or two lanes if you can, and you're good to go.

Awesome art !
I feel the game has a dire new for a tutorial tho. I was thrown into a game I don't know with a ticking timer and no intruction, I couldnt manage to use the cards at the bottom and it took me 3 rounds understand I could click the units and didnt know what was a good idea or not. Seem like knights kill the soliders or something, so I guess there's a rock paper scissor kind of thing in there. Probably having simple levels, without a ticking timer, where you have like one unit and you must pick the right rock, paper scissor to defeat an enemy unit and something about the cards or the objective of the game.

Looks like there's a cool game under it tho, nice polish and very great art and I love that NFT joke haha.

This was really cool! The gameplay was actually pretty fun once I got the hang of it, and the graphics and sound was very fitting. Honestly, my only criticism is something that I feel like is only a problem because it's a jam game. Right now, you kind of get a bit of information overload at the beginning where you're trying to get the hang of swapping troops and understanding what all the different cards do and how they work, and I also didn't understand at first that my opponent also had the same cards as me and was using them. I think if you were going to do a post jam version, having multiple levels where all the mechanics were slowly introduced would make it a lot more accessible, but also I get for a jam game you don't want to have the beginning go too long.

So overall, I think this is a really cool and fun concept and I think it has really great potential to be expanded into a full release. Very good job!
