Very very cool game, I enjoyed it a ton :)
Very cool game reminds me of geometry wars. I would have preferred if each of the different shapes had unique movement patterns like in geometry wars so that there was a little more strategy to dodging them but for a Jam game this is an awesome start
Wow! that got intense! Very fun arcade, shooter, absolute chaos game. The visuals, sound and mechanics all played a part of progressively challenging game idea. Well executed!!
Thanks Marlin!
Very addictive game with great music and satisfying gameplay
Thank you very much :D
Nice job! I've played a lot of top-down-shooters, but this one is pretty unique with its two button controls. Not being able to stop or control your aim give this a very unique, almost snake-like feel. I also really like the bombs-- since they are your only way to directly control what you damage, you aim for them a lot, and they're a fun way to take out the enemies in big groups. It feels pretty nice. As for the things that could be improved-- Bouncing yourself off the walls, in combination with the tank controls, works a little unintuitively. This isn't your fault, per se, but could have been avoided entirely by making the screen wrap. As it is right now, when I bounce off of a wall, or get cornered, there's really not a lot I can do to prevent getting damaged, since it sends me right back to my pursers. Also, the color changing mechanic, while neat, doesn't really contribute a lot to the actual game. Normally, that wouldn't matter too much, but this mechanic is what ties the game to the theme. It's not a big deal, but I wish it played a bigger part. Overall, these are nitpicks though, and this is a fun and well-polished concept, with a fair amount of creativity injected into it. Nice work!
Hey thank for playing. I agree the bouncing is a bit rough and could probably be reworked, but i like the screen wrapping idea and wish I had thought of that. Yes the game is a little light on the theme but its not without. I had a hard time think of something to fit with the theme and after 2 days I went with what I had because time was wasting :D. Appreciate all your thoughts and comments.
Really good game here! It is one of those 'just one more round' video games. I love the idea of this game, and also the gameplay is great! The chiptune music is amazing! Overall, great game! One thing to add if you plan on building upon this game is to add some kind of system where you can see your best score/ high score game modes.
Other than that, great game!
Art and sound was fantastic, and i am curious as to how you manage to do a game like this, very impressive.
unfortunately this was a boring game, there was at one point that it was just tilting by itself and was already doing it for me, I got to like lvl 6. like i would of love to actually be part of the action
Also i didn't know Xanderwood was such a Paula Abdul Fan either! lol
Yeah it is a bit lacking on player input early in the game. But I also dumbed down the difficulty a fair bit. Might have made it too easy. There was a lot more that I wanted to do but time was not on my side. Definitely plan to continue some work on this after the jam. Thanks for playing!
The Art and Music is amazing and the Game feels great and high quality. However gameplay wise it is a bit strange. You don't have a lot of controll and the first Levels are impossible to lose. I actually managed to get to Level 7 by not pressing any buttons.
Yeah, this is a common critique I'm getting about it being extremely easy in the early levels. This is due to my fears of the game being to easy so I cut all the enemy stats in half. Thanks for playing!
