Very polished game with a great artstyle! Had a very good time playing it! Good job!

Submitted(+4)

That was very polished. I really can not say anything bad about the game, congratilations !

(+4)

I really like the art style and game-play and the controls are very straight-forward. Well Done!

Submitted(+4)

I dig the artstyle so much!

Also it's really chill and you can how much love got into the game!

The controls feel good and are very intuitive as well.

The AI companion is great too and I love how he says "Wowieeee" xD

Great job!!

Really cute game! I love the cat, and how the robot gets angry if you hit him with the rock!

I managed to softlock the game once when the robot flew the block into a wall and came back withouth the block.

But otherwise great game!

Submitted(+4)

simple and cool idea, great puzzle design! not much else to say tbh

Submitted(+4)

Really well-polished game, felt a tad slow but the puzzle design, visuals and sounds are all amazing :)

Submitted(+4)

Simple mechanic but executed really well. Would be cool to see this developed more, give the robot more stuff to do etc. overall super cool

Submitted(+4)

I don't know what exactly it is about the Parallax effect, but something felt not right for me. I feel like the cave could have had a bit of a nicer background as well than just gray. I know, whining at a high level :D Other than that pretty damn good!

Submitted(+5)

Very cool visuals; the robot quickly grew on me with its wowieeee too! The game is overall a bit too slow for my tastes, but otherwise fun!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. Great job on your game too!

the visuals in this game really stand out.

I found it frustrating trying to through the rock and bebop was in the way. Also throwing the rock over edges without falling is tricky. maybe shrink the collider for the rock or indicate when the rock will hit the wall.

I Also got stuck once because the robot put the cube in the ceiling.

put other than that throwing rocks to command bebop is fun and satisfying.

Submitted(+3)

Was that smoothly transitioning adaptive music i just heard? :o

tiny bug... when the robot holds a block, the block has disabled collisions. Which is great in most cases, but... you can give the block to the robot, ask the robot to move to a ceiling, and ask it to drop the block... Now the block is stuck outside the map. Whoops.

sometimes the robot blocks the rock when you're standing close... I mean throwing stones to give orders doesn't make a lot of sense realistically, so maybe an alternative input would work... But i also kinda like the elegance of having a single input so i cant decide... But it is very frustrating

Great game, well polished too

Developer

Thank you! Yes, that is adaptive music! We disabled collision for the cube because some you could break some levels by standing on the cube whilst the robot is holing. The throwing rock bug could get annoying sometimes, we'll fix it after the jam ends since we cant change anything right now. Anyways thanks for playing, glad you enjoyed!

Developer

eheh, i doubt that's a tiny bug but sure x)

it is something we knew from the get-go after choosing to disable collisions on boxes (which as Imated mentionned, lead to abusing levels and outright skipping most of the puzzles), so i did my best to minimize the chances of that happening via level design: i gave more than enough vertical cleareance at every button drop, so it rarely happens in normal gameplay.

the robot blocking you was totally an oversight, and definetly leads to quite frustrating gameplay sometimes though - i'll give you that. the only reason it happens is because of the interaction where Bebop gets mad when you throw too many rocks at him (totally worth it btw)

glad to hear you've enjoyed the game though!

basically you're trying to do something and all of a sudden
"rIgHt AwAy" "hApPy To HeLp"

do you want another rock you little bastard

Developer(+2)

guess why the indev name for this game was "robot torture"

The robot reacts to the stones thrown at it (in a random way)! This is the kind of thing that shows how polished and well finished the game is! The graphics are excellent but what I liked the most was the sound. Excellent mastering. There is not an event without a perfect sound associated with it. The gamelplay is original and follows the theme well. The only improvement I found would be to add a small animation when a wooden block breaks to get a better feel (maybe even a small screen shake). This is a game that could win this year!

Great job!

Developer

Thanks! I played your game and it was also very impressive.

It's pretty, it's well made, it's well thought out, well designed, unique, calming... is there anything bad about this???

I love every minute detail about this game. I love how the metal is clearly displayed to be unbreakable compared to the mossy blocks, and the little trundling AI that goes 'wowie!' (nice touch btw) is super cute too!

All round a winner for me. Great, great job Fogheart/ Butterfly Games!

Very polished little platformer! Visually beautiful. How did you have divided the work among the nine of you?

Developer (1 edit)

As the sort of lead of the team - i think we can all thank our pretty well organized Trello x)

It's a must have for a team, especially of this size!

Wow, this is an amazing submission! I absolutely adore the cover art! The art style and music give me nostalgia, and the gameplay is great! I really encourage you guys to keep working on this game, with a little more polish, it can be a masterpiece. I'd say my favorite part is the environment. The forest is really nice and beautiful. 5/5

Submitted(+4)

It's so polished! Can't believe it was made in just 3 days. You guys are amazing!

Developer

Thank you!! I also really enjoyed playing your game, it was amazing!

Excellent mechanic for the jam. The controls felt nice. The way the mechanic was introduced felt really natural. I like the little detail of the robot reacting to getting a rock thrown at it. I encountered a bug, where I dropped a box in the wall, and I can't get it back. The directional sound seemed weird to me. I would've expected the audio listener to be on the player instead of the camera. The parallax also moves weirdly sometimes, like how the foreground isn't moving but the background is. All of the negatives are just nitpicks tho. Good job on the game!

Developer

Thank you! The bug you encountered we didn’t have time to fix, but you can always restart the level it happens to you again. We were using Wwise for the audio so I’m not sure how it felt weird, I’m not experienced in this though. Anyways thank you again!

Developer (1 edit)

I agree it would probably be better to have the listener be on the character or maybe in between the character and camera. If we do a patch down the road I definitely want to improve on that. With the time limit for the jam it just wasn’t worth the effort.

Thanks for the feedback!

Excellent work! In all aspects! Your game is top notch. The graphics look fantastic, the animations are great, the color palette is harmonious, the sound FX (they even come from different directions!!!) and background music - all great. The controls also feel really good.  It's late here, so I had to quit for tonight  when I found the robot. Will continue tomorrow.

BUT one thing really breaks my heart. Why don't you provide a browser based version of your game? So many people will just turn away because of this - and will miss the chance to enjoy such a great game. This is a petty...

Developer (5 edits) (+1)

A decision was made early on to use Wwise for the audio solution to enable us to deliver audio at the quality you've received it here. Wwise sadly does not support WebGL.

Oversight on my part (I headed the sound implementation). I work regularly with Wwise but I'm fairly new to publishing on itch -- while the rest of the team has more experience there. I hadn't considered the limitation that would put on us when it came time to publish, and the rest of the team just was not aware until we were far too committed.

All that said, glad to hear you enjoy what that sacrifice enabled us to do! :)
