Awesome game. I haven't played these games a lot before but this was really good and can be expanded further after the jam. Congrats
I am not a fan of this games, but it got my attention and I love it ! I enjoyed looking for clues and I feel like I am solving a real crime, good job and thanks for this experience
Love this game, the interpretation is really really unique, i can see this as a extended steam game with more levels with different crimes you have to solve and stuff like that, there are some bugs but other than that the game is really great. 25/10!
Hi ! Great job for a jam ! Nice graphics, easy to understand gameplay, and it's really cool to see a story - especially an investigation ! And it fits well the theme :)
Thanks for sharing how the AI was made, it's simple but efficient for a jam !
For me there are a few issues :
- the answers are a bit too robotic (straightforward descriptions with no emotions), but may be this is because you had a lot of sentences to write ahead so that's a lot of work,
- the AI often say to "ask for more info", which makes it a bit artificial : they should say nothing or give the info right away; even if it might help the player to know what to do I think it's not necessary,
- the case is really simple to solve, no big twist, but it's funny to have the anonymous guy appearing (well... we guess who it actually is, and that's funny too),
- the AI are often not understanding what's said, which is understandable given the algorithm, but may be you could have added more responses to common investigation elements.
Thank you for this game, I had a nice time playing it !
thanks for detailed feedback!
- i guess answers are too robotic just because i am not a good writer especially in english lol
- i had one playtester and without “ask for more info” phrases she didn’t really understand what needs to be done next in most situations so i added them. i thought it would be too hard for player to guess what to do next and i think that it’s better for a jam game to be too easy rather than too hard.
- i didn’t even think over the situation in advance and was coming up with the “script” while i was already writing dialogue options so it is really simple and once i gain i think it’s better than if it was too hard
- i agree i definitely should’ve spent more time on ai
i’m glad you liked it!
This is the best game I've played this jam and one of the best game jam games I've played. This will easily get top 10 and I would love to see this turned into a full game. I think it has a lot of potential. In the end I managed to get all the details correctly. But tell me, who was the anonymous person? Was it Henry since he went completely quiet after the anonymous guy appeared? Great job on the game!
Really good entry, i can tell youve put alot of effort into this! great idea and great game ^_^
I never thought you could use chatbots like that, I think this is one of the best games I've played so far in the jam.
Very creative, nice visuals, I love chatbots even you can say bad words... overall loved it!
Really impressive visuals and sound design but maybe I love rain too much ^^ Very nice concept and a interesting experience :)
The game feels very good in the browser which is super impressive. Good gameloop and interesting idea. Nice job :)
Wow this was really interesting to play! I'm also curious about how you made the AI
thanks for playing!
the ai is basically not much more complicated than a bunch of if-elses (that resulted in it being silly in a lot of situations). i followed this video and tweaked the system a bit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ea9jgBjQxEs
I informed the wife that her husband is dead, she replied "No...", I replied "Yes", she no longer answered me, one of the best games I played during the jam so far. The characters vocabulary was a bit lacking, but I could still get almost everything out of them.
Really neat stuff! I like this one a lot! Putting it into an environment with the rain and office sound effects adds a lot to this. Mia kept telling me she was 31 and then stopped responding to me, and eventually I stopped being able to discover new information from the other characters, but in the end I got all but two pieces of info correct. Good job on this one!
