That name is great. I love the concept and the art style. Great job!

Check out my game if you can :)

When I was a kid playing Minecraft, I remember not having a clue how to get redstone gates to work properly. This was a fun puzzle game, and I learned something from it!

The visual design is wonderful, and I love the help animations that describe the different gates' function. It's simple, cute, and helpful!

The sound effects are well done, and so is the menu music! I'd like to hear the music during the game too.

The two gameplay stages - free exploration of the level as a ghost to see its workings, and acting on it as the live robot - interact in a fun way. If you were to keep working on this game outside of the "fail to progress" theme, however, I'm conflicted on whether I would recommend keeping the death requirement. On one hand, requiring the player to die initially is just an extra, unnecessary step. Being able to press a button to view the whole level at once would be much easier. At the same time, when playing through a level, it's nice to get immediate feedback on your surrounding area when you die.

When I first learned about the invisible spikes, I was a bit worried because I've played a few other games  with this mechanic that were just frustrating. Luckily, they weren't over-placed in this game and didn't cause too much annoyance. Still, I would prefer them being permanently visible. Over the (NOT) Gates shines as a logic and puzzle-solving game. Requiring the player to memorize spike positions on top of that is just an extra burden that gets in the way of the true fun.

With a few small changes and more levels, I would love to keep playing this game! The basic gates have been introduced. Now what kind of crazy levels can you make using their full potential?

The idea of this game is really creative. The puzzles are great fun, and being able to see the connections between obstacles and buttons when you are dead is a great way of implementing the theme!

Sometimes it was quite hard to complete a level, even when you already figured out how a puzzle was supposed to work. However, the amount of satisfaction when a level was complete was, at least to me, totally worth it!

Really well done!

Alright so, this game is super unforgiving at times, also I think the 3 step process on the exit door is painful when you're just trying to figure out what's going on and how to go about playing the game but here's the thing.

That "A-HA!" moment is so delicious I don't want the tutorial to be easy even though me starting did; once you know what's going on, what you're doing, how to play is so nice. The visuals/sound design come together beautifully. I think I would add the option as like a toggle "Easy Mode" for an immediate respawn for those wanting to go fast maybe even speedrun. Overall it's one of the most creative games and well polished one's I've seen all week. Great job, I hope none of this comes off badly!

Very Awesome game! great job!

Creative idea and fun mechanic. Pretty unforgiving on the platforming when you slide into hidden traps (ok if this was by design but it might make some people rage quit). I got confused at first because I did not realize the everything resets once you merge back with your main body. Once I spend a few minutes learning the rules the game was really fun and challenging in a good way!

I really appreciate your feedback. I might as well answer this once and for all: it is by design and it's meant to emphasize the fact that you must plan ahead before completing the level. We made sure that no one would be able to just rush the level without dying. That said, if we did realize how frustrating the game can be, we would have tune it down a little. Next time we will use more play testers for sure!

An amazing game! It fits the topic perfectly.

I wish there were more levels. but there's not much you can do with a one weekend jam.

Congrats!

Really good idea! Very good game! My only problem is that the controls feel way too slidey, causing a bunch of deaths because i couldn't stop on time.

This is very creative! My only criticism would be that it gets super complicated super fast. Well done :)

Great idea and great execution. This really stands out from the rest of puzzle platformers in this jam. Visuals could be better, but for 72h game jam their not that bad ;)

Actually it reminded me of our game! It's a similar thing where there are traps (+ other things in your game) that you can see when you die. The difference is that once you are alive again in your game you can't see the traps anymore.

It's quite frustrating because I'm not so good at 2d platformers and even when I knew where traps were sometimes I would still die.

I like the artstyle :)

Interesting idea and nice visualization of the "ghost-world". Worked really well with the topic.
The slippery surfaces were a bit annoying and I would have preferred to explicitly interact with the body to restart rather than accidentally touch it.

Wow this game is stunned! It shines through its simplicity in the design and the gameplay! It fits the theme perfectly, and I love logic gate puzzles so its a 5/5 for me!

A cool game ! Just a little problem about jumping on some platforms but otherwise it's good !

Great game, I liked the unique mechanic and art style. Only slight annoyance is that I keep slipping off the edge, but otherwise perfect.

I really enjoyed playing. It could've had level-two more, but the "gate" thing was really clever. :)
