This was fun but it was somewhat annoying dying and getting a big 3-4 block piece that could not fit through holes anywhere. Would be good to maybe get a preview of the next block or at least not get blocks that have more lasers and spikes on them. Or just keep it a single block.

probably the best Idea Ive seen in this Jam, Its like next level tetris

Nice Game but it would be nice if you wound't have to restart all over again once you die ;-)

I really like this! The sounds are freaking awesome, they're really juicy. And I like how you have to die to progress, but you have to do it really strategically so you don't die from the stuff you place or don't block yourself in.

Although I have blocked myself in too many times, it's pretty much the only reason I couldn't get far. Maybe it'd be cool if your remains could sometimes spawn a bomb which removes some of the blocks.

Really cool concept though, good job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback. I was thinking that if i would want to improve this game I would add Bomb and Jump pad.

Super clever!! I love the sounds, they fit really well. The in game tutorial drawings were really well placed. Nice work :)

It has very creative and unique idea!
The double jump near other object was difficult for me, but somehow I managed 45 score.
Nice work!

Really nice one! At first, I thought that the game will be another "corpse is a platform" thing, but I was gladly surprised it wasn't!

  • The jump and the overall movement feel a bit too floaty.
  • IMO the player's collision shape should be a bit smaller than a whole block, because it is impossible to fit through a whole if you are the same size as the whole (say I'm trying to horizontally go through a whole of one block in size and I am one block height)
  • I liked the sound design, particularly the jump sound as it sounded a bit silly but thanks to that it felt so casual and funny!

Very well done!

Also, can you please rate my submission?

Nice take on the theme, I felt like sometimes you could get softlocked by dying to many times and blocking the way up, also the player felt a bit glidy, but besides from that I liked the randomising of each level and the game mechanic was quite creative. My high score was 87.

This was a really creative idea, so great work! At first I thought it would just be another "leave your corpse when you die" game, but it actually used that idea very well - the different blocks, the way that the levels were laid out, the fact that you could contain hazards in your blocks - it all worked really nicely, and I loved that each level was randomised too, which kept replaying the game fresh. It was possible to trap yourself sometimes, so a reset button or something like that would've been nice, but it wasn't too common to be a major issue. The controls felt floaty as well, and it was kind of confusing that the arrow keys worked for movement but the up arrow didn't jump, but using WASD was fine. I did really enjoy the sound design though, and the art was distinct enough to tell blocks apart easily. It was a nice game overall, and very unique, well done!

Thank you so much for playing and giving me this much feedback! Thank you! I am grateful for that. The reset button I thought about but that's how it goes in game jams not enough time :D

Wow, this is really original and creative. Really great sound fx and idea. The jump is a bit floaty, but it's not really an issue in this game, just a nitpick :D

Very creative game concept. The only issue i had is that the player character is chosen randomly, so that's why sometimes shapes come out where i got in a softlock, which is very frustrating.

Nonetheless, i like your game and the idea that the player character can contain enemie blocks. Well done.

LOVE the mechanics of this game! I like how when you die, not only does it create a platform but the player also changes shape, reminds me a lot of Tetris blocks haha. Also it's really cool how the levels are randomly generated. Would be nice if there was a bit more variation in the levels, but considering this was made in just 72 hours I'm really impressed!!

Nice, i liked that your hero contains also future enemies, thats unusual for this concept :)

Nice graphics, music and sound effects have good feeling

Definitley worth trying :)

As everyone here has pointed out. This game is very underrated. The art is awesome and the game feels very polished. The music is also fitting

Great job!

When you first respawn as a different set of blocks was such a good surprise. Would be nice if when you died it skipped the first two tutorial screens, as after my first respawn I thought I would have to do everything over again, you have to get past those screens to realise the levels are different. Fun game.

Developer

Thats actually a really good point! Thank you for feedback

Submitted(+1)

this is it, the best corpse based platformer

Submitted(+1)

This is an underrated platformer, it matches the concept and I like the idea where your current block can be a hazard, not only normal bricks.

Submitted(+1)

I really like the concept and how it matches the theme when you can get your current blocks killed so that the next one has a platform to hide from hazards. It's pretty challenging to control though and therefore also easy to block yourself :)

Submitted(+1)

Pretty nice, I like how you get new blocks every time, and that after a while the lava rises and forces you to go faster, but il say that its a bit hard to control the blocks, in fast paced games its important that the player is easy to control and move around.

but anyways, good job!

Good Job on this!
