Even with the simplistic textures, the visual effects and animations boost the quality of the visuals.
But there was an an issue when I tried to shoot upwards and downwards. Because the character switches hands, the spray is harder to control in those directions.

Gameplay wise, it was really fun and quite addicting.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, I will try to fix that for the post-jam version ;)

Very nice and simple game! A nice color scheme with cool sound FX tho it could be more juicy to be MORE SATYSFYING but it's already a lot fun to play! I love it, great job :D

Developer

Thanks, I definitely agree there there are places I could add more "juice", which I will be doing for the post-jam version :)

Simple good looking game, easy to grasp the concept and just game along ;-)

Really fun game! While i was playing there wasn't really a goal i was trying to achieve except stay alive. Would have been nice to have a score counter/timer so i can compare my previous score so i have a reason to keep playing. Also would have been nice to have something happen when killing ants such as a particle effect/sound effect. But really fun idea!

Thanks, a score counter is one of the things I wish I had added, but I didn't think of it in time :(

As for an effect of sound when an ant is killed, that was something I originally chose not to add because it wasn't realistic, but I later realized it would have been better to add it.

Both things will be added for the post-jam version, which I hope to release in a couple of days.

Cool! I'll be sure to play it!

Funny simple game in which you can spend a couple of minutes with pleasure!

Fun little game. I like the mechanic that you get a new spray whenever you kill enough ants.

really creative interpretation of the theme. The spray was super fun as well.

Fun game, the spray was really fun to play with (and kill with).

A super fun game. I really love the art style of the game, the spray particles, the little shaking sounds that plays when you equip a new spray bottle. And I like that he switches hands when I move the mouse to the other side.

Only thing I would suggest to improve the experience is to add some sound effects when the bugs die.

Overall it was a really fun and polished game, great job 😄

Thanks for your feedback!

Do you have any suggestions for what kind of sound should be used for the bugs dieing? I thought about added a sound to it, but I couldn't think of anything suitable.

Maybe like a splosh sound. I mean any sound should work, it's just an indicator for eliminating a bug. whatever sound you add will be automatically registered to our brains as the bug kill sound the first time we kill a bug. So, I think the type sound doesn't really matter.

A fun, but bit too easy, game.

Developer

Thanks, yes it does need a bit more balancing, I didn't have much time for play testing before I submitted ;)

Dope game :D art is off the charts, idk if its all hand done by you but well done! The visuals are super nice, the audio is like even better, super good music I thought and the sound effects were cool, the only sound effect that didn't make much sense was the player "OW" sound.
Also if the player had an idle state instead of just moving all the time it would look much more smooth and real imo.

Cool game! fun to see all the projects from the game jam

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks! Except for the grass tiles and music (as credited on the game page), everything was done by me, yes.

The sound effect for player damage is inspired by the old Minecraft sound, as I thought it would make more sense for an ant bite than an impact type sound.

Noice man that is cool stuff!

This font is much easier to read, here's my feedback (again):

  • Good music choice
  • The art you made is a different resolution than the licensed art, but it isn't too noticeable.
  • The green progress bar looks very different than the rest of the art.
  • The restarts are very abrupt, since there is no text or fail sound.
  • The big issue imo is that the game doesn't have an end goal. A highscore system would be a great addition (time or round based)
