Wow so this is why there is a shortage of toilet papers! I really liked the visuals and the throwing mechanic, which feels responsive without dealing with physics and shenanigans.

Gorgeous visuals. It's perfect minimalism. Once I got the hang of throwing it got really fun and sometimes hard as I the realized I had a limited supply of TP. Kind of like my real life ;)

Love the visuals! The throwing mechanic took some time to get used to. Overall a good job. How did you achieve the foggy look with the blue to red gradient?

Thank you! Mostly that's blue textures + red lightning + pink fog.

Great graphics, sound, and music! Plays well on my Oculus Rift. After playing a few rounds, I only have a few pieces of constructive criticism.

  • Would be nice to have an indication of how many rolls you have left
  • It took some time to adjust to the throwing mechanic. With time, it would be great to smooth out the throw to feel more natural. I often felt a disconnect between where I thought the roll was going and where it actually went. But as a start, this is solid!
  • Was hoping to see a stronger connection to the theme of "one tool, many uses"

Overall as a prototype / game jam submission, well done! I had fun

  • I wanted to create old-games gameplay using quick die-learn-retry loop, that's why I removed "ammo" indication and changed some other things :)
  • Yeah, throwing needs to be polished a lot.
  • During gameplay one more type of use appears and had two more coded (e.g. grapple hook logic), but didn't manage to implement it in levels in time :) May be I'll add it in future.

Is there something I should do to get it to work with Valve Index? The trigger buttons would not register.

Hi! Sorry for this, that's very common problem nowadays: damn Epic's ruined steamvr binding system in UE4.24 and now its behaving very random. I've added Index bindings but probably something gone wrong.

For now on Index it should work on Grip button.

If no:

Just go to SteamVR - Settings - Controllers - Custom - Edit this binding

and bind Trigger function

Ah! I managed to get it to work through the SteamVR bindings like you suggested. Great game, though it becomes too easy when you figure out you can create "trip wires" by throwing the TP sideways then throwing the other end the other direction. That said I managed to lock the game on one of the later waves with a large number of enemies when I ran out of TP and they clipped on the median.

Would you mind checking my game and see if there are binding issues for you? See the comment I posted. So sad that the only viable options for VR (Unreal and Unity) have such problems.

Great it finally worked. Now running your game (On Odyssey+/WMR (probably working in SteamVR)) - controllers are working fine, hands are responding. Though I can not make gesture man is asking me to. Now I'll try your patch

Nope, patch didn't change anything. Also tried playing with controller bindings in SteamVR settings. Seems like the problem is not in bindings. - as hands seem to react correctly to Trigger and Grab buttons

Oh that's really lame. Not surprising though as the patch was bindings for Vive and Oculus specifically. I really don't know how to support WMR devices with SteamVR. Thanks for trying the patch and thanks for the suggestion to make a video!

Lmao. Superhot-esk but with toilet paper.  I like the concept! Though a few more kinds of things to do with the paper would have been really neat. And I don't mean using it for it's intended purpose.

I've been asked how to pass level 5 (2 enemies and only 1 paper) - this is not a bug, but there is a way to tag group of enemies if you quickly throw second time (you will throw the end of the same paper this way, and not use the next one). See video as an example:
