  • Great work! Looks good, and plays well. I really like the stretchy arms with their sound effects. I also found the premise really amusing.

This is a really cool game, great concept, and the arm mechanic mixed with the Sound FX's make it even better, check out our game when you get a chance https://itch.io/jam/vr-jam-2020/rate/637977

The arm stretching mechanic is just incredibly fun and so original! The SFX to go along with it fits perfectly too. Love the purple ink outlines and smooth shading on everything, gives it a feeling somewhere between Moebius and The Simpsons. Awesome work!

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it! I had loads of fun getting those stretchy arms right. With more time I would have spent it on the shaders though really happy with the current look. :D

This is so much fun! Really intuitive controlling the hands and grabbing cakes. Good job!

Developer

Awesome! Thanks for trying it out. Did you get past the 3 levels and into the zero gravity modes? 😆😆

Had a lot of fun! (I spent a full two minutes extending and retracting the arms xD).
The concept was simple, but very original!

The game was very well put together and felt complete (audio, art style, mechanics etc. all well put together!) , which is really impressive under the constraints of a jam :D

(I did also experience the "grab" mechanic breaking at some point, but hey! its a jam! :D)

Overall well done! You should be proud of this entry :)

Haha! Thanks for the compliments and trying ou my game. I also had way too much fun playing with the arm extensions.

I had built a few different types of the arm extension modes, but this was the most finished one.

One of the other modes was grabbing one hand with the other, and throwing it. As if you where fishing, then you wheel it back in if and when you grabbed something. Lol.

This is my winner so far. Super fun idea, music, and look.

Developer

Amazing. Thanks so much. Had loads of fun on this.

Love the idea! The graphics + music fit great and I liked that I was able to do some cool dance moves with my extended arms xD

Developer(+1)

Ha! Dancing sounds great. I am also guilty of that whilst making this. But always ended in up making too much noise and waking up the other. XD

You should try dancing in the zero gravity mode.

Great entry! Such a simple idea, but the execution mixed with the premise is wonderful.

Developer

Thanks, much appreciated! Will add to this game for sure.

The game is fun, the style is unique, and the mechanics work well with the exception of grabbing objects with the right hand breaking once.

Submitted

Hey ! Really nice game !

I loved the graphics and the music was great! However, after a while I had some problems using my right hand to catch the cakes but it was no big deal.

Above all, very fun and aesthetically pleasing!

Developer

Awesome glad you liked it! I have noticed that if you are grabbing something when the game returns to the menu, it will break the hand grab for some reason. You know, the usual bugs that VR gives us :D

Hope you still got to play enough, maybe made it past the 3 levels and into the Zero Gravity mode? Not sure anyone made it there yet. Lol.

Submitted

Now that I know there is a zero gravity level after the third one I'm gonna give it a new shot !

Seems really interesting and fun but I can't grab anything. The arm extension works but just can grab. I'm using an Oculus cv1.

Developer

Hey thanks for trying! I downloaded the file from here and tested on my CV1 to check and I can grab with no issues. Did you try redownloading and trying again? Hope it works for you!

Developer

Also to clarify you can only start grabbing objects once your have selected one of the levels from the suitcase.

Cool game!

  1. Gameplay - Great! The hands extension mechanic is great, and the sound is cartoon-y and cool!
  2. Fun - Cake! Stretchy hands! ★★★★★
  3. Originality - Again, 5 stars!
  4. Graphics -  The rooms feel a bit dark or maybe just too softly lit. Objects don't pop quite enough.
  5. Theme - Hands are great tools!
  6. Overall -  Great game! I loved playing it.

Please try out and rate my game, Stick it Together, with the link below.

Developer

Doesn't seem to be working right for me on Valve Index. My head is about 30 feet away from the room and is rendering completely different images to each eye.

Game looks good, let me know if you have a fix!

Developer

I have only made this for Oculus Rift and Oculus Quest (or Quest + Link). Any other HMDs I haven't tested! I will make this clear in the description. Thanks for checking it out though :).
