This was really cool! I felt the Flash flying around at mach-speed trying to save everyone from impending doom. I really like the concept of only having one small moment to make a split decision and change the course of history. The opening cutscene was really well done as well. Nice job!
You are right 👍 the game is designed in such a way that it bearly gives you enough time to save everyone (until you use the Unity Infinity Cube to slow down the blast even further). You have to make a quick decision and choose the teammates to save before the blast spreads. You get different endings depending on who you save. For example, if you save only all 3 robots, then you get a different ending. If you only save yourself, then you get a different ending.
I love the opening scene and I love the level of work that you put into the initial concept. The mouse was super finicky for me for whatever reason, but hey, it was fun to play :)
Yeah, if I had more time, I would have added a setting panel for the players to set mouse sensitivity and volume controls. But I am definitely planning to update the game after the Jam. 😊
Exactly! It's to learn very very readily! I am enjoying my first one to be honest!
Very solid game, I feel a lot of effort in the opening scene. Great concept and asset implementation. (My first try was putting everyone inside the explosion center lol)
I knew people would do that. You unlock an ending for that :D
Brilliant concept — the idea of saving lives in the very last second is truly unique and creative.
Really amazing cutscene at the beginning.
That took most of my time for sure 😅
Idea is nice, the cutscene is funny and explosion gives Half-Life 1 vibes.
For me the performance is abysmal. Web build straight up crashed my browser so hard that it won't open until PC restart. Windows build is extremely taxing on the CPU (Ryzen 5 4600G) causing constant unbearable lagging (not even low framerate, which is worse). Can't appreciate the experience properly because of that, won't be checking other endings. No idea what you could've done so bad in such scene, please investigate. My only guess is that you have many-many lights with shadows enabled and it spams "Reduced additional punctual light shadows resolution to make shadow maps fit" in logs
Aah.. that's a bummer.. Only if I have more time. As a one-man army, I could find time to test it on multiple different machines. Although I am planning to update the game after this Jam for sure. People are loving it, and I do find a player base for the game.
Seems like it's a Unity issue, as it happens in some other entries, I've posted on forum about this https://discussions.unity.com/t/announcing-the-20th-anniversary-official-unity-g...
Such an emotional feeling and the importance that the titles gives to oneself is amazing. Really felt connected and the burden of saving lives upon my shoulders. Great execution in very little time. I would love to play full story mode behind all these scenes that lead to this "Last Second" chaos. The slow motion mode just NAILED IT and I felt like Flash.
What an analysis <3 I love it.
Fun experience to become a Flash, Well done!
Do you remember that Quick Silver scene from the X-Men movie when time slows down and he saves everyone's life with the song "Sweet Dreams" playing in the background? I was going for that :D
This is so cool!
Thanks xaak <3 I am planning to make it even cooler after this Jam.
It's really entertaining. Super creative way to use the Unity assets.
Thank you so much <3 My goal was to go all out with anniversary assets.
Wow, now this is what I call a game! It was short but incredibly fun. If you add cinematic cutscenes for each ending later on, I think it would be a great game to stream!
I was really going for that, but 48 hours are not enough for a single person to finish it :D If i had a team i would definitely added that :D
Great gameplay and smooth controls — really enjoyable experience!
Sweet you definetely get cool vibes on it! i played it a few times cause im heartless! always leaving them to die! would be cooler if during the slow mo time debri and things flew around suuuper slow. maybe its implemented? will re play! great work!
Yup! its already implemented. Sometimes the WebGL version glitches out, but on PC you can observe is better. Overthing flows down in slow-mo sequence: you see the big fan moving slowly, and bug bots (drones) also moving slowly.
What a superb opening cut scene!🔥 I like it👌
Really impressive work ,the visuals and atmosphere is really good ,polished and creative. Excellent showcase of Unity’s potential.
Yoo damn, that’s crazy!
Amazing 👍🔥
It truly felt like a saviour, incredible how such an amazing game came together in just two days. Outstanding job!
I can't Believe this is done in just 2 Days! The game looks Awesome <3
I didnt sleep for straigh 36 hours while working on it. 😅
Thanks for playing The Last Second!
Made entirely with Unity’s 20th Anniversary Assets for the Timeless Game Jam 2025.
