Infinitely late but I uploaded a review video to youtube and your game is a part of it! Check it out here:
Fun game! Liked the graphics, sound effects, and music. Getting multiple right in a row (especially quickly) was satisfying thanks to the animation and sound effects. A score at the end would be nice. A few things didn't count when they should have, but only sometimes. It's also hard to tell if something doesn't count or not, since there's no feedback when you get something wrong.
Really cool tech (as usual)! Also nice use of sound effects with the combos. I probably would've made it easier to fail and with scoring so that we would want to play again and try and beat our previous scores.
WHERE'S MUH FEEDBACK.
Overall, a very awesome little game. I love the aesthetic and the gameplay. Super fun! Would definitely play again. Just needs a little feedback or a goal to set forth to drive replayability!
Always a pleasure!
This word game was pretty well done!
I tripped over a few words though, as something that seems logical to the player might not be included as a relevant word. I think balancing out this point is probably more challenging than anything, as it really relies on social context as well which the algorithm might not pick up on.
Hey Thanks! This is all done algorithmically, so I agree, It would be great to improve upon. Maybe have a system where users can add to an online DB or something. But I'm really happy with the system for the 2 week period. The game will surprise you with what words "fit" and it will sometimes surprise you when a word doesn't fit haha.
I'll have to play your game as well!
This is a great, really polished-feeling game, and a pleasure to play. Two things I would have love to have seen are:
1. Some sort of scoring mechanism. I wanted some way to be able to compare how well I did against prior performances or other people.
2. A faster difficulty curve (or a difficulty curve, period, I couldn't tell). I was playing for eight minutes and still near the top of the buster meter. While being able to do it forever until physical limitations take over is authentic for a fillibuster, it would have been nice if the bar decreased faster over time.
Hey Thanks for playing! I really appreciate it.
I agree that a score (basically, how long you were able to keep going, or max combo string, or something) would be great, That's 1st on my list.
I didn't have much time to balance the buster bar/points system, due to time constraints, but having the bar decrease faster over time sounds like an easy addition. Good Idea.
Cheers!
Fun and clever word association game! Love the lighthearted tone, music, and graphics. Good job :)
Hi thank you! This is very kind.
Great episode interpretation! I'm really impressed with the word association and how many words it seems to know correctly! Some animations would be nice, but I imagine most your time was spent with that word back end. Another feature that would be nice, but I totally understand why it isn't in there, is a sort of autocomplete feature. I realized how terrible I am at spelling playing this game :)
Very well done, great job!
Hey thanks! There are over 500k words it recognizes! IT would be interesting to implement some sort of autocomplete. but Id have to scope out exactly how it would work.
Cheers!
such a clever game, I love that episode of Parks and Rec, and this is a good interpretation of that episode
Thanks! I almost included a version of Losing My Religion by REM to make it even more in line with the episode haha.
