I like that this feels like a game that I could have actually played during those long car rides as a kid. The difficulty / simplicity is just right! Those darn yetis 😭

I think my only critique is where it comes to controls, I think the same input should pick up / throw.

This game was really great! You were able to make all the action clear and readable even when the action was fast paced! The physics of the movement felt buttery smooth 🧈😀
The character sprites and animations too, so cute and clear!

One of my favorites so far! (I'm going for the medals next 😁)

Thanks for playing and glad you think it's cool! We fixed this bug in the most recent Windows build :)

This game is really polished. looks nice, plays nice, I love the music, animations, art. The camera shake, and zoom, the effects. It's all really impressive for the time we had

The mechanics are also interesting, and as someone who likes new game design stuff, it was really cool to play with, and imagine how you developed the systems! though i think everything feels a bit slow, since melting takes time.

Really nice work! I wish i could have as focused of a vision as you did! Cheers!

I'm the best at this game because i went of screen and got infinite points :D

The music is kinda a bop too lol

Theres a lot to like here, and for the week you had i think it's really rad. seems like some inspiration from games like mario kart where drifting is super important.
I think im most impressed by the way you render the map!

This game is very cute! I like the mechanic of the stacked balls and being able to sort of pop them up. It's also very funny that youre racing a carrot haha. I'm also very bad, but i made it to round 3! 😁

I think it's a bit hard for my brain to have both jump and "pop" but i can understand the mechanical reason they are separate. The camera also starts to lose the snowman if you go to fast.

I had fun playing this one, its so cute too! This game had the best music of any game in the jam by far. I'm still jamming to it. Good stuff!

It's pretty fun to play, but i'm very bad at it 😅 It's an impressive build for a 1 week jam! I'm gonna steal your hex code.

I liked this game, very original. It's way too short, unless I'm missing a way to gain time back? Even though I only sorta get what's happening on the bottom half, It still lights up and makes pretty colors and cool noises and i get lots of points. Just like real pachinko haha! :D

Probably my favorite entry in the jam! With so little time in the jam its really impressive how much mechanical and systems depth you were able to achieve , while keeping the game approachable and understandable! I'm a board game fan, and this is a great little dice pool/worker placement game!

Polish it up, add more animations and sounds and such and you could have a popular game on your hands!

This has a lot of cool pieces implemented, I love the pikmin-like gameplay ideas here too. The little minions are cute. If you had some more time to flesh out some more actions and give the player more options, i could see this being even better!

I had a lot of fun playing this one! It reminds me a little of other rage platformers (meatboy, celeste, etc)! I'd say the camera is pretty  unforgiving, but it seems in some ways that's part of the design. The Art, humor, execution all really nicely done, I would have loved to see more of the theme in the mechanics or story thought!

Thanks for playing, Geo! Appreciate your feedback too!
I was down to the wire on time for features, but the little bearing devices should totally have angle and label text 😬. Maybe even an onion skin of last-launch's bearing too. I'll add that after the voting period.

Thanks for playing, I'm glad you thought that effect was cool! It was surprisingly easy to implement. just setting the acceleration of the probe to 0 each frame, and adding little bits back in the direction (and scaled by distance) to each planet. You can check out the git repo for the code too!

Thanks for playing! :D
I LOVE Billiard Hell btw, lol. I'm a huge fan of mashing up genres! And it's so successful at it!

Thanks, that's very nice of you, and awesome to hear!
I made the music approximately 1 hour before the deadline, and it was okay cause i only had to have 10-seconds-worth haha.

It's a great suggestion, Thank you!
Before I pared down scope, it was going to be a "future sight" upgrade you could purchase with coins

Thanks so much for the feedback!
Idk why it's slow sometimes. Sometimes it's slow in Firefox, and slow in chrome others? something something webgl. I've added a note to the page :)
The music is 10 seconds long, what you're seeing is the  slowdown making 10 seconds in the display timer actually take like, 12 seconds or whatever, you know? 😅

Cute little game! good work getting something in for the jam! I'm too good at the game though so it'd be rad to try to add some progression, like more things to dodge as your score goes up :D

The art for this game is really charming! and i like how you communicated who the "suspect" was supposed to look like with the pictographs. It kinda reminds me of papers please for whatever reason. Good work!

This is a really great implementation of the jam's challenge! Perfect gameplay for that, I started to associate the images to the words! I was learning a new language.  The music is cute and relaxing :D

Everything here looks really nice, perfect for the theme. I do think that without the "goal text" like in warioware, it's often hard to determine the win condition for each microgame. The core loop is working smoothly though, good work!

Good job incorporating the challenge! I like how the "language" affects the properties of stuff (if it kills you or is the goal, etc).
The music tho 🤩

Really neat Idea to have the paper rotate affect the gravity of the player character, perfect for the theme! The music also adds a lot of tension!

The music is an absolute BOP! 🤩I love how poppy and bubbly it is.
The gameplay brings me back to playing doodle jump on my ipod touch like 10 years ago.
I also loved the confetti that you spawn on jumps, really nice touch!

This is a really funny and well put together product. All the people dressed as trees or bushes, and the guy hanging as the sun hahah. I like the idea of a "rhythm" game with a...bullet hell game, and it plays well too! The art is perfect for the jam, good work!

It's so cute, and a great concept. 😍 I'm interested in how you got the grading system to work! I love how you utilized the theme. Congrats!

If you accidentally drop your brush over the pallet, it gets stuck there! that happened to me twice >.<

100% agree. it should just not let you buy it if its too expensive. We just ran out of time.
Thanks a lot for playing, and for your feedback! Super helpful

Thanks for playing, we appreciate the feedback!
You need to invest in a very close-orbiting moon with a few missile turrets. Since the only way to lose is to hit $0, making sure no enemies will stay on the surface of the planet for very long is priority!
Something like this should keep you pretty safe!

I'm not sure why it would be running slow. Sorry about that. Not sure how to fix it. Try chrome or another pc :/
Thanks for being interested in the game though.
It depends on how the moon is rotating and how the missile turret is moving relative to that if a missile will hit, relative velocities, and all. Usually, i need ~2 moons near oribt and 4-5 missile turrets by wave 2 to survive.
Cheers!

That's so nice of you, thanks! Ive found that spending money early on a close-orbiting moon to be worth it :)

Thanks a lot! I appreciate it!
Yeah....All purchases are currently final. We ran out of time to add sell/cancel in the jam period. hopefully more features after the voting period!

(1 edit)

yeah, if you put yourself into debt you die haha. Hope to add in "cancel purchase" after the voting period for the jam is done.

Yeah, I'll be honest, and the surprise "horror" is totally intended. It would be too mean to ACTUALLY modify a players host machine though.

Thanks for playing and I'm glad you enjoyed it!

you can hold SHIFT to get capital  letters, I'm not sure about caps lock support though.

Hey iSeeLT, Thank you so much for trying out my game!  The mistake you made is understandable, and easy to fix!  The  "<folder_name>" or "<script_name>"  are just placeholders for the name of the folder you want to go to, or script you want to run, etc.

For example, if you wanted to folderoni into the "logs" directory, you simply need to write:

folderoni logs

or to go back to the previous folder:

folderoni ..

No brackets or anything like that needed, just like a regular unix  "cd" command.

Same goes for commands later in the game like:

godfather bake package-game.pzza

I would love it if you have it another shot! Feel free to reply here if you have more questions. I put a lot of heart into this game and i think you will really like it if you stick with it! Even if you don't make it back for another playthrough, I appreciate the attempt :)

Cheers,

Markl

first make sure you are in the right folder, by typing the command "listaroni" into the terminal. if you are in the "/usr/bin/notes" folder, you can just type "printaroni SERVER_INFO.txt" into the terminal to see the contents!

I'm glad you played through the game! SPOILER ALERT at the true ending though haha.

Can't tell if you liked it or not from your comment :)

Hey Thanks! This is all done algorithmically, so I agree, It would be great to improve upon. Maybe have a system where users can add to an online DB or something. But I'm really happy with the system for the 2 week period. The game will surprise you with what words "fit" and it will sometimes surprise you when a word doesn't fit haha.

I'll have to play your game as well!
