"I was TOLD there would be NO MATH."
really well done! Very cute integration of the theme and I'm digging the crayon-like art style
Felt good to play, and the art is really attractive. I liked the small touches, like SDM being blurry in the distance. The difficulty and length felt appropriate to me. I'm still a bigger Mokou X Kaguya fan tho
Mokou x Kaguya is my bigger ship for sure but I'm just not able to resist the allure of pairings that make absolutely no sense and could never happen
because pedophilia is wrong.
I agree wholeheartedly with every bone in my body, but that's not what this is about at all, and this is definitely not the place to discuss this
Buddy your attitude is very unwelcome here. The ship is presented in a harmless, non-sexualized manner with both characters pretty arguably child-coded. If something in a jam game like this makes you uncomfortable for nuanced reasons that's okay to voice, but you can't voice it by harassing the dev over multiple comments and insulting others involved in the jam. This is your one and only warning to be civil about your disagreements if you want to comment or rate in these jams in the future. You can also message me or another host privately if you have concerns about these kinds of things.
Edit: I removed your first comment about it since it was just the same accusation, but leaving this one as a warning.
This is rock solid. The writing made me laugh. Game was hard, but hey, that's what a (seemingly) infinite life bar is for! One thing I have to say though, the charge shot SFX was a bit grating to my ears.
it is rather loud and high pitched, isn't it? I'll get on tweaking that with the rest of the post-jam tweaks
What a wholesome game
Now, I have a new perfect ship!
Hot damn. A+ juicing with incredibly solid gameplay and some twists on the usual shmuppage, great as always! This is the gayest thing ever and I love it.
Tiniest of nitpick: In Mokou's last attack the way her heart circles initially pulse out a bit doesn't quite match the angles they're in when they expand again, so that was a bit of an anti-telegraph imo.
those bullets aren't pulsing in and out, they come out and then curve back boomerang-style to come out the other side. fair point, though
So I absolutely, shamelessly love this even if I'm too bad at the game to actually complete it (checkpointing is generous, I'm just bad at moukou; the game felt fair despite my own incompetence).
Only real criticism is the shot/charged shot mechanic; it means bullet spam requires rapidly tapping the A button and it is hell on your thumb. If holding A just spammed bullets and the charged shot was on a different button.
Loved all the little details like the parallax backgrounds and the wave when you fly low to the water. So many unique fairies...
I totally understand, I hate having to mash the shot button in shmups too, but that's why I made it so pressing the button once makes cirno shoot for long enough that you can actually just wait a second or two between each button press without sacrificing firing speed, and just tap at a slow rhythmic pace if it's tiring for you.
Also in retrospect I really wish I went through with giving mokou a halfway checkpoint. I toned down her danmaku a lot, but I really wanted to make a game anyone could beat!
You nailed it again! Took me quite a few tries to actually get to Mokou, but your checkpointing is generous. Mokou was also a bit rough (no innuendo intended), Jealously sign took me longer to figure out than it should have.
Your crayon drawings are fantastic, and your writing is adorable!
