I liked it! There's a good variety of flower shapes and colors, which made it interesting to keep playing.

I think it would be easier to see patterns if there were more flowers at a time. Some sort of replay (maybe a way to save it as an animated gif?) would also be neat.

I agree! I didn’t have time for more :) Thank you!

It is so simple yet enjoyable, I loved it so much 😊

Thank you!

I love games that have a genetic evolution theme where they let you selectively breed in many different directions, and this is no exception. I had fun making a huge purple flower and a tiny tiny yellow one.

Developer

:) Glad you liked it

Love this! I had fun selecting for doubled flowers (multiple layers of petals) with lots of petals. Ended up with something resembling New England Aster (though that only has a single layer of petals.)

Making reasonable flowers was kinda tricky but some of you told me the flowers you get reminded you of something so I’m happy with that. Thanks!

Art is really nice :D

It would be cool to be able to save a flower into an image.

Developer(+1)

thank you! Yeah, also it would be nice to be able to regenerate a flower from the genes… You can always take a screenshot :)

Sure, screenshot is a possibility :) Although it won't be a perfect fit..

This reminds me a little of the "choices" or "alternatives" panels that some (pre-AI) photo editing software or plugins would give you when you were trying to fine-tune a filter. It would be cool if you had a little "garden" of (say) six or more plants so you had more alternatives to pick from.

I agree! I did it too fast and I didn’t have time for much more. It could be nice have a way to choose the flowers you prefer and collect them, or even make a big diverse garden and see how it evolved.

Next time maybe!

This reminds me of a previous jam entry from a few years ago which had a similar idea about bees and flowers: https://alloy-d.itch.io/butterfly-effect

I didn’t know this one! I’ll play it!

Thank you for your service, bee!

Neat idea! I liked the print out of the genes in the terminal. It gave me flashbacks to the old land of lisp game where you would program hunters and prey and watch their behaviour evolve over time.

Developer

I have to read that one! I made the terminal output for debugging and I thought it was a good idea to keep it as part of the game. A friend of mine played trying to max the red component of the flowers and stuff like that LOL thank you!
