Very interesting how you managed to develop a platformer with just right and left controls, and still make it work. Congratulations on the idea and the effort!
The red and blue blocks were indeed the most difficult, but I believe it was due to the unpredictability of knowing whether they were solid or not. At several moments, the red block seemed solid, but when advancing towards it, the character would fall. One idea to make this part easier could be to make the blocks appear and become solid abruptly, but disappear gradually, and once they have fully disappeared, keep them solid for a short additional time to give the player extra time to correct small delays.
The Red and Blue blocks were something I added last minute cause I couldn't get the fans to work. So I added those blocks last seconded my apologizes for them. If the Jam Creators would allow me switch the red and blue blocks out for the fans to be I'd like to.
Amazing example of how beautiful minimalism can be. The background music was awesome and fit the vibe really well, the audio was simple but effective, and the character's eye movements were a really nice touch. I also found the controls in general felt really solid too.
I have to agree with others about the red and blue blocks, it was very difficult to determine when they were solid. I think instead of a fading opacity I would have just have them switch instantly between the two states, it would have made it a lot clearer.
Who locked up the poor kitty? Nice game though, music was very existential and the red and blue platforms were tough. Keep it up!
The scientists did, and yeah if I'm going to turn this into a full game I'm throwing the Red and Blue Blocks into the sun.
Small interesting game. The concept is simple and perfectly adheres to the theme. The graphics is good and the final game is fun to play. However, it is a bit hard sometimes, especially when jumping or trying to fit the cube in narrow paths.
Fun until rage quitting at red and blue boxes.
Cool, I liked the color palette you went with and the minimalistic design! The changing color platforms where kind of tricky to maneuver, but still fun!
Nice platformer, but there is a big difficulty spike with disappearing/reappearing red and blue blocks and I had to rage-quit there. It is a unclear when the block "exists" (sometimes it looks as if it has the full opacity, yet I fall through it).
Other than that, it is nice and cozy. :)
Thank you, I apologize for the red&blue blocks, those were a mistake I made, I tried working on a different feature but that didn't work so in my panic I made those.
Very relaxing platformer, I like the artstyle a lot! But I couldn't get past the red&blue blocks ;(
Thank you for the feed back. I'm sorry about the Red and Blue blocks those seem to be the one thing people don't like, I don't like them! Thank you for playing.
A decent entry. Some bits were quite tricky like waiting for alternating blocks to solidify, but fortunately restarts are very fast. I wouldn't put gaps between blocks you can easily walk over.
I do agree. The game seems so be good besides the blocks.
Nice game! I liked the mechanic of using the jumps pads. Nice work
Thank you very much, glad to know you enjoyed that mechanic.
reminds me of bit runner from yume2kki. It is charming, but needs some polish.
Yes I could do some more polish when is comes to particle effects, and the blue and red blocks.
Really Fun game and well polished. Those red and blue platforms are really tough!
Very cool game has a nice feel to it. The art and sound fit very nicely together. The controls feel quite good but might need a little more polish. The colored blocks are quite difficult to traverse I couldn't get past the 2nd level with them. I would maybe try to make them shrink and grow back after a certain amount of time so you don't fall of as easily. Overall great game for the game jam. Good job!
Hey to everyone who want's to comment, also give me the time it took you to complete level 5.
interesting clean aesthetics with the eerie heavenly music
simple movement, does the job well… as other said, the colored blocks are a pain, would be nice to have the hitboxes activate/deactivate in a more generous/fair timing with the color
Yeah I think I could do a million things to make that level better. Thanks for the feedback
really loved the vibes! I gave up in the room with the spikes; i think if I could have just kept going until I got it I would have continued but I feel like I lost my groove when i got spiked >< had fun though, thanks for the experience!
Awesome game, but I really hate those disappearing cubes... It took me 30 minutes to complete the rising spikes level!
Sorry about that. I'm a better programmer then a level designer. But hope you enjoyed every level before 5.
It was a compliment! I love when games are not too easy... I mean a little bit of challenge is essential...
