Great game, very polished!
The panoramic audio was spot on! Plus, I really like the Gravity Falls inspired characters
Very good use of the directional audio. At first I thought the listen mechanic would take me to my friends but I ran into the monsters a bunch lol Couldn't really figure out what the secret ending was, but this was a fun and challenging game!
Yeah, the listening reveals the kids and the monster. It's just the one, but he likes to head you off by jumping through the trees and hiding. Thank you for playing!
I really enjoyed playing the game. The sounds complemented it nicely, enhancing the overall experience. I loved that you included a secret ending—it had me replaying the game several times to try and uncover it. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find the happy rock. I should have known it had something to do with the weather, especially after figuring it out when the shovel appeared!
Very well done. Great job!
Thanks! The secret ending (and the normal one tbh) is pretty obtuse, so no worries. I appreciate the time and effort tho!
Congrats on your submission! I found my four friends and THAT WAS NOT COOL!!! Took me about 6 or 7 tries to find them. I didn't understand the Listen thing at first. I thought those lines were from me waving around the flashlight. Never found the shovel, I didn't know which rock was happy and I did find an axe but I couldn't pick it up.
Hey thanks for playing through to the bad ending! You're so right about the listening mechanic. It's not intuitive or obvious enough given how important it is to evading the creature and finding the kids. Looking back, the vfx could have used more polish and maybe it shouldn't be restricted to holding still.
As far as the secret ending goes, the shovel is found in the garden and it's much easier to find when the rain washed the dirt away. The happy rock is revealed by the tree struck by lightning. However, the dig location is also given away by the theme :)
Thanks to you and your team for giving my mess more time than it deserved! We should have fought harder to get fresh eyes on our project leading up to release. Some tweaks to the time limit and how things are found could have given more players an opportunity to see it through to the end.
Haha! That makes sense. I might give it another shot if I get a chance tomorrow when I'm on my desktop.
Nice game! i loved the graphics and the thunders!
Plenty to like with this game that tackles the classic 'lost in the woods' horror game genre. Playing with headphones, the directional audio really does add some nice cues and felt wonderfully atmospheric. Any game that takes in the footsteps of the Slender model is wise to have no shortage of notes and ephemera scattered around, and this has plenty of juicy tidbits and missing posters. I think the live minimap really helped get a sense of location too: something I really appreciated when things went down to pitch black. The monster is animated very well and encountering it generates a deliciously dark sound effect that leaves little to the imagination. Great work!
The sound design of this game is immaculate. The way that the entity just so fast that you can see his silhouette totally grasped the horror aspect. I really love the concept it reminds me of the "find the 8 pages" horror games. Very nice work!
This game is fun ^^ I'm sure I could beat it if I gave it a few more shots, but there are so many games to play lol. I like the monster, and it works well. Lots of spooky happenings like the rain, thunder, and wind, were nice touches. And I liked the sound design :]
I didn't find any of my friends, every time I tried an ugly and strange monster would eat me alive lol. I think the game's strong point is the soundtrack, the sound of the trees and the noises of the forest give you a constant feeling that something bad is going to happen, I found it quite scary. Congratulations, great game!
Hi, thanks for playing! I wish I'd time to demonstrate the creature's behavior in an incremental fashion. It plays pretty fairly, hunting you loosely by smell, then listening for noise you make. If you get too far from him, he'll jump through treetops and hide, giving positional audio cues. Any sound or footstep he makes generates a directional indicator of you're standing still.
But none of this is taught or demonstrated, so it's likely to seem that he just bursts out of nowhere and eats you. Thanks for you feedback!
Wow, now that I know this I'm going to play it again, I think it would have a better progression...

I will just as soon as I get off work. Looking forward to it!
that would be amazing!!!
Very cool, I got really into it haha! Sadly I never managed to find all my friends but I had a great time anyway!
It can get intense and scary at times, nice work! Very charming art, maybe it's just me, but the hints for the edgy kid got lost on me and I got stuck quite a bit haha.
Actually scary, the enemy responds perfectly to the player and the sound design is spooky af, I'm sad games don't have the aesthetic charm this one does anymore. I got the bad ending, where I just found the kids. I got the shovel before I got a lot of light followed by permanent dark on another run. Not sure what to do with the shovel, do I just go back to the camp fire or dig something up?
Wow, thanks for taking the time to reach an ending! Near the pond is a note that gives directions on where to use the shovel.
But since we're all pressed for time... "it was there all along" :)
Yeah I just couldn't figure out which rock was the happy one. Gonna give it another go. XD
Honestly, I should have tried harder to get fresh eyes on the secret ending while developing it, cuz it's probably unfairly obtuse. The "happy rock" is revealed by a burning tree during the first lightning strikes. If you've ever spotted a burnt tree, that's the one to watch :)
I like that a lot and it makes a lot of sense. Okay i'll check it out.
Really liked it! Very unique style. Didn't manage to find them all within 3 playthroughs oops. Sound design also got me very spooked. Good job!
Visually I think this is incredible, super well done environment, characters are great, monster is so so good. Map and notes were a really good touch. My one issue would be the feedback on finding my friends. I came across three of them, but when I went up to touch them they just went super speed across the map and dissapeared. Left me a bit confused and I wasn’t sure how I was doing because of it.
Only downside tbh I thought everything else was super well done, love how the atmosphere darkens and gets mega spooky as it goes on. The standing still indicators a good touch, although not sure if it was for my friends, demon or both. Think it’s both because I found 2 of my homies but then when I only had one more to find it led me right into the scary man.
Very nice entry
Oof that's a good point about interacting with the other children. I should have given that a bit more polish. Maybe a sfx and text to indicate that they're headed back to the campfire.
Thanks for the feedback!
I loved this game! It really immerses you in the situation. Great job!
